1 Rikito Kokao

At the front doors of Yoras University stands its newest student. A young man with long white hair, beautiful orange-like eyes, and amazing brown-colored skin awaits his introduction to his newest endeavor.

September 1

"So this is Yoras Uni... the looks of the campus live up to the hype." The school's front entrance was grand. I was standing outside the campus walls in front of the large silver gate that gleamed with glamour in the sunlight. The gate also had a large symbol. The symbol had the letter "Y" with a big X overlapping it. It seemed boujee but I wouldn't expect anything less, coming from one of the most prestige's schools in the world.

I reached into my pant pocket and grabbed a letter I had received a day prior from the University. The note read:

"Hello Mr. Rikito Kokao, this is a letter to inform you upon arrival at Yoras University. When you reach the front gate there will be a code box beside the gate. The code is "Alexander." Once you enter the code, head up to the front door. There you will be greeted by one of the school ambassadors, and they will instruct you on what to do next."

I had folded the letter and slid it back into my pocket and turned toward the code box as instructed. The code box was a digital computer screen that greeted me when turned toward it.

"Please enter the given code," the code box said. So I did, I began to type in the code "Alexander" and the moment I finished the gate had begun to open. The silver gates welcomed me with open arms as I walked through its gates. Behind the gates was a massive courtyard with well-kept grass and white stone garden walls. The smells of the courtyard were sweet to the nose and comforting in every sense of the word. Walking the long courtyard I noticed the lily blossom trees that were lined in single file all the way to the front doors at the end of the courtyard. The lily trees didn't bear the same colors as regular pink lily trees, but instead, the trees birthed blue and white flowers, with hundreds if not thousands of premature lily flowers floating in the wind.

"Beautiful" I muttered in awe. The scenery was something to behold and could bring a tear to one's eye. Finally, I reached the edge of the courtyard. I walked up the white stone steps and knocked on the big black doors that stood before me. The doors looked expensive and were aligned in gold, with the same symbol from the gates upon the door. As I was about to knock the doors swung open and I was greeted by a girl. She looked about my age, 18 years old. She had long platinum blue hair and dashing green eyes. Her face was smooth and she had such clean clear looking skin, although she was pale, her blushed cheeks gleamed red. She also wore a school uniform, which was a white cardigan shirt with a black colored vest seamed in gold on top with a black skirt and black socks that just came up to her knees. Her shoes were also black. She looked amazing and I was in love at the sight of her.

"Hello newbie, my name is Sarah Vanlord, I'm one of the house ambassadors here at Yoras. What's your name stranger?" She had cheered getting up close and personal.

"My name is Rikito Kokao, I just transferred here." I had said blushing.

Sarah's personality was bubbly and energetic and made me feel warm inside.

"Well Mr. Kokao, let me be the first to welcome you to Yoras Uni, a school of the gifted and the future of the world nobles. Let me help you with your bags." She had said signaling a miniature silver robot to come and grab my bags.

"Please don't call me Mr. Kokao that is my father's name, and I would like to make a name for myself on my own accord."

"Hmm? Then what shall I address you as newbie?"

"Rikito is fine, at least until I can find a new name to go by aha."

"Sounds good to me Rikito, although your last name seems very familiar, but I can't quite put a finger on it. Oh well come inside and let me show you to the lecture hall."

I had finally entered the building and I was blown away at the architecture, it was an old-style foundation with the walls being stone and school banners drooping down from the ceiling. The floors had red carpet wall to wall. Although the walls and foundation seemed old a lot of the furniture like the couches, benches, and cabinets were very modern and felt like a home, but leaned more toward a fancy hotel of sorts. Inside the school, the hall were filled with hundreds of students of all kinds walking the halls.

It was most definitely the biggest school I had ever been to. As Sarah and I walked the halls, we were greeted by many friendly's as they said their hellos, although I believe they were for Sarah and not for myself. We passed many trophy cases that carried all sorts of jewels and gold crowns, with school dates of all kinds, going as far back to 400 years ago durinng the 1900's , this must be rewarded for winning some sort of game or something I had thought to myself.

Sarah had noticed my admiration for the trophy cases and chimed in.

"I see our trophies had caught your attention." She smirked as she leaned in over me placing her head on my shoulders.

"Yes, they are very flamboyant, I had never seen anything like this," I replied.

"We win them in the tournaments we have with other houses here at the school."

I looked at Sarah with confusion, "Other houses? There is more than one?"

"Yes we have four Houses here at Yoras and we hold yearly tournaments twice a year, to keep things fun and competitive."

"Interesting, and which house do you belong to Sarah?"

Sarah had turned me around and pointed at a gold pin she wore on her vest.

"I'm the ambassador of House Blue Phoenix, we have the second most wins in Yoras Uni history, cool right?"

I nodded in agreement and we began to head toward the lecture hall once again. Once we reached the lecture hall Sarah stopped and handed me a key card.

"Here you'll need this to get into your room when you're finished here at the lecture hall. I'll have the robot drop off your things in your room okay? Best of luck Rikito." Sarah said kissing me on the cheek as she skipped off. I looked at the keycard but it was blank, but I quickly pocketed the key card.

What a strange girl I had thought, she was nice but strange. I opened the lecture doors and behold was an auditorium that could seat at least 1000 people. The lecture hall was packed with people, with barely any seats left for me to sit. I was glad that there were more first years like myself attending, it was somewhat comforting. I began to walk down the lecture isles trying to find a seat, until finally, I found a seat near the front row, although it wouldn't be my first choice of seating it was one of the only seats available, and with more people pouring in by the minute I had to snag a seat.

The Lecture Hall was similar to a concert setting with a massive stage at the center of it, with all the seats placed around. Then a hologram video appeared above the stage with a message.

"The Grand Wizard will be with you all shortly hang tight"

I had overheard many first-years chatting about the message,

"I heard the Grand Wizard has been alive for over 400 years," one person said.

"It's about time, I've been waiting for over a half hour for this guy," another said.

I had looked around the hall to get a good look at the people I would be spending the next four years with.

"Hey dude could I take this seat?" someone had said tapping my shoulder.

It was a taller handsome man, he looked about 20 years old, with short blonde hair and a little stubble on his chiseled chin. He had blue milky eyes, but judging by his voice he seemed friendly.

"Yeah go for it," I replied. He quickly nuzzled into the seat next to me and introduced himself.

"The name is Steph Guth, but call me Steph G, what's yours?" He went to fist bump me.

"My name is Rikito, a pleasure Steph." I fist-bumped him back. I guess I've made my first friend.

We all waited for about another 15 minutes before the lights dimmed and an announcer appeared on stage in a cloud of smoke, the crowd erupted with cheer and applause.

"Welcome first years, to Yoras University home of the gifted in magical arts, and the future of the world nobles. I am Avira Agus, Grand Wizard of Yoras and 25th rank mage in the world."

The Grand Wizard was nothing less than smoking hot, she looked older but her complexion was amazing and her light brown eyes complemented her long grey hair that went down to her feet. Avira was wearing a long black dress with a silver necklace with a blue amulet hanging from it.

"The staff here at Yoras, are so glad you all could attend this year and we wish you a warm welcome. Give yourselves a warm welcome of applause."

The crowd gave whistles and cheers after she paused.

Avira was engaging with her words and I could tell that she had done this speech about a million times.

"Today is a special day today for you first years. Today's gathering will be short and sweet so do not worry, we know you lot will love to adventure around the campus grounds so we will not hold you too long. You all should've received a blank key card handed to you by the ambassadors as you arrived. If you all could pull those out it would be wonderful."

I had pulled out my keycard from my pocket, and so did Steph G.

"Now that you've all pulled out your key cards, I will now etch in your Houses that you will be attending for the next four years."

Avira had swung her arms in the air and blue dust had spread throughout the lecture. Suddenly letters began to form on my keycard.

"You should now all see your name and house on your keycard, along with your room number and wing you'll be staying in for the time being. Of course, the rooms will be separated by males and females so don't get any bright ideas. There will be four Houses that you all will be divided into, House of Blue Phoenix, House of Gold Dragon, House of Green Griffin, and House of Black Tiger."

"Yo, what house did you get Rikito?" Steph said showing his card.

Rikito keycard read:

Name: Steph Guth

House:Blue Phoenix

Wing: North West Wing

Room: 224

"Same as you. We're even going to be neighbors"

"Yo that's dope man, let's make some noise this year bro, we can make a new name for ourselves here Rikito," Steph said smiling and giving me a hug.

His energy was rubbing off on me, I gave him a hug back and replied

"A new name for myself. I like the sound of that."

"
