Selling Weeds

Before long my two companions are back. Honestly, I was expecting this to take longer. I guess they were lucky in finding the opponents.

[Welcome back, how was it?]

They glance at each other.

"All good! We took care of it!"

[You beat half of them?]

"Master, he beat all of them! All I did was make them fall in a hole, all 30 of them!"

I can't help but be impressed.

[Good job. Shall we announce the good news?]

I go to the common area. The Guqin player is following me for some reason, silently. I think she's not used to being ignored.

I use mana to amplify my voice.

[Everyone, the bandits have been dealt with! You can now journey safely!]

The owner comes running.

"What if there are a few others remaining? I think we should send a letter to the nearest town to ask for reinforcements!"

[Meh, it should be fine.]

Before long everyone happily leaves. The young master is glaring at me, probably because of the girl. Still, he doesn't do anything at all, especially that my two guards just came back victorious.

The owner sees us leave with tears in his eyes.

[Don't worry, no need to thank us. We simply did as we should.]

Thus resumes our journey. Beginning with a good deed and a kick in the nuts. Logan being the target of course. Gotta punish him for getting his guard down.

It seems like he thought I would go easy on him just because two others happen to be walking behind us, nope!

At one point I'm about to increase the pace to ditch them, but she says she'll vouch for my identity if we have any problem because of TMR. Apparently, she wants to thank me for bringing her back to her room that one time.

Our pace does slow down because of it, but it just means more training, to Logan's bittersweet regret.

After a while, we reach a town. Ah, yes. This one is clearly different. It has a blessing.

[Wait, guys, I just thought of something. Logan, do you know what a basic tamer seal that commoners use look like?]

I can almost hear the sparkles in our followers' eyes when I say that.

"Hm, Sir. I think it looks like that." Then he draws on the ground.

[Ah, right. Lady your lips seem especially red. Do you have a cosmetic for that?]

"I have a name, call me Calli!"

But she still hands it over. Seems to be in a tube. I press it against TMR's fur to apply it. I reproduce the drawing on the ground faithfully. Then I hand it back to her…ah, there may be a bit of fur on it hence her disgusted expression.

[All good!]

"You were able to modify the crest so quickly, Sir!"

Modify? I clearly…oh. Ah, whatever.

Before long it is time to enter. We get stopped because we are broke and accompanied by a monster.

Good thing Calli comes to the rescue and charms them! Actually, she just tells them she has a gig at the local tavern and that they can send someone to verify. That we are with her.

Now, how the fuck would Dire-Rat be related to her performance?

Well, she answers dancing. So now TMR is shaking his butt to the sound of her music, swinging his tail around. Okay, I was doubtful at first, but he may have a talent for that.

What if I created a real dancing crew? I could slowly upgrade it. Eventually, I'd even get a dragon in it. Plan for the future.

We are let inside. Now there is clearly something I need to do.

[Alright, free time! Meet later!]

Calli seems to want to say something but we all just bolt away. To be honest I can't simply depend on someone every time to enter a town.

I walk across the place before finally locating an apothecary. As I enter, a little bell jingle.

"Coming!"

A young man appears from the back.

[Hey there, do you have any plants that become valuable the longer they grow?]

"Brother, that is literally all of them."

[Seriously?]

How awesome! I'll be rich soon haha.

"Getting wealthy on herbs isn't easy you know. The valuable ones are all in exceptionally mana-rich areas. This means that there are also countless monsters."

[Wait, wouldn't it be possible to install blessings into these places and farm it?]

"Nope, the blessings itself would stop the growth of most plants."

[Wait, I know some soldiers grow mushrooms in…]

"Exactly, mushrooms. That can grow anywhere you know. So are you buying anything?"

[Yep, give many 1-year-old herbs! I'll go try my luck!]

He busies himself for a while. Then he comes back with about 20 of them. How nice!

"Alright, that will be two silver coins total."

[Alright, put it on my tab!]

"…."

[I swear I'll pay you back!]

"…"

He doesn't say anything he just goes to put everything back on the shelves. Oh well, there is always plan B. I simply dash toward him and knock him out.

All good, nice, and easy. I grab all 20. Then I work my magic. The dried-up plants from before are full of mana and vibrant. I also reproduce some 1-year-old ones with magic.

This is the perfect robbery. He won't even know that he was. Now I just need to sell all of...

That is when I hear a sound. There is an old man. That just came out of the back.

"How long are you going to take?!"

Then he sees the scene. I expect him to freak out, but he remains completely calm.

"How can I help you?"

[I wish to sell these.]

I push it all toward him.

He looks at it for a second, before jumping in shock.

"A-are these all 100 years old?! How is this possible?!"

[So, can you buy it?]

"That, I regretfully don't have enough currency for…"

[It's fine, just give me what you have.]

He excitedly rushes in the back store, bringing back a pouch full to the brim.

"There are124 silvers in there, Sir. Please take it!"

[Sure thing! Pleasure doing business with you!]

HAHAHAHA this is literally more OP than printing money!

That is when the young man wakes up. Should I run before he accuses me?

He sees me and exclaims "Dad, quick get the guard he's a thief!"

The man rushes to his son…and starts beating him up. Then he turns to me apologizing.

"I'm sorry I'll teach him better in the future!"

[Alright, no worries.]

I simply leave. Even if he does figure the trick out he won't have any proof. Plus this is a small place, I doubt they have that big a backing anyway.

MC is already using his cheat. he could go full capitalist too...
