I Didn’t Plan It

As I go to the back and make a cake in the morning after whatever happened, I see Jessie making out with the guys who runs the place. It startled me enough that I drop a pan I was about to use for a cake. "UHM, I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING" I say as I grab it and go to the counters. She follows me over there. "Look, I couldn't help it ok?!" She says. "I know but, CAL?!" I ask. "He has such nice and strong hands!" She says. "Your married and so is he!" I say. "But Ethel think she's gay, what kind of a girl would leave her husband cause she think she's gay!" She says.

"I just need to go..." I say walking away. "GO AHEAD, but don't think you haven't made the same mistake!" She says. "Like what, Jess?!" I ask. "Oh, don't act like you might be having an affair. You came to work today with your dress on inside out and you lipstick all smudged after you went to your little doctors appointment!" She says. "I'm leaving." I say. "GO AHEAD! Just go on and throw your rocks at me, then take off running. Your no better than me!" She says. I pause. "We both made mistakes, haven't we? I will not undo what I'm doing than sit in judgement of the things that make us human. I don't claim to be proud, but my head won't be filled with shame." She adds. "Cause I didn't plan it. That's life, Aria. I'm just finally feeling alive." She says. "Look, I'm sorry." I say as I go to the back and make a cake.

I hear someone come in so I go out of kitchen and then see my husband. He looks a bit tired and mad. "Joe, What are you doing here?" I ask. "Fucking boss fired me. He can kiss my ass." He says. "Joe, your drunk..." I say touching him in worry. "Don't touch me! Pushing me away the other day, what's wrong with you?!" He says. I get very mad so I just storm out and back to the kitchen. "You can't keep me out forever Aria!!" He yells as I slam the door. I feel attacked but I just carry on and bake a cake. But just imagining being with Charles, having an affair is risky, but it just feels so right, so good...
