CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

LEAH/JAMIE'S POV

I heard the door handle rattle as I was drying myself.

I ran to quickly unlock the door and as the door opened, Logan came in pushing me against back inside, up against the floor length mirror, watching me with his famous smirk.

Tilting my head, observing him. "I have only two ground rules to lay down in our house or apartment or hotel, or wherever we are together. Never lock our bedroom door and our bathroom door from each other" he says waiting for my reaction.

Nodding I agreed instantly, because I know it's the right thing. We are one now so in reality, everything we own belongs to each other, but I have no intention of telling him that.

"Hmm, no arguments, no need for explanations?" he looks at me thoughtfully.

Leaning down to nuzzle my neck, which felt ticklish, causing me to burst into giggles.

Kissing me, he moved to the shower, "we can't be late for breakfast" he said, dropping his robe on the floor, that I pick up, throwing it into the laundry basket provided.

"I have only one ground rule for you minster" I shout, as I walked out the door.

Logan's suit was already laid out on the bed, while I took out a suit which u should have taken out last night.

I shook it a couple of times hoping to lose the few crinkles.

I was done dressing by the time Logan came out of the shower.

I pulled and fold the linens on the bed. "you'll close it up" I told Logan, as I went to use the bathroom mirror.

Logan came to stand behind me fixing his tie and adjusting his jacket. We match, in navy, except for my white skirt.

Feeling a sting on my butt, "this emphasises to much of my assets" he said as our eyes met in the mirror.

The fear of today, that I kept hidden all weekend pushed it's ugly head out again.

With moistened eyes, I look at him, not seeing a smirk, but a small smile a look of concern.

"How bad are those criminals?" I asked for the first time.

Resting his hands on my shoulders and his head on my chin.

"They murdered an entire family or so they thought" Logan starts to explain. "Two children were hiding in a kitchen cupboard and were able to identity the killers" he says.

Frowning, "are you working for the kids?" I wondered aloud.

"The state hired me to fight this case" he said, as realization dawned on me.

"You were in this case before we met?" I mused as he nodded in confirmation.

I turned around in his arms, my four inch heels giving me extra height. "You are worried aren't you?" I asked searching his eyes for a reaction.

"F**k yes!" he swears, for the first time admitting his concern to me.

I hug him, "please promise that you'll be okay" I tell him, near tears.

His hands tightens but I didn't care because all I know is that I want to keep him in my arms forever.

"Sweetheart we have to go" he loosens his hold on me.

Looking back to the mirror, j wiped the few tears that fell in my cheeks, while Logan went back into the room.

He had already close our suitcases with our belongings when I went to join him.

"Ready?" he asks at the same time someone knocks on the door.

Shaking my head, "no I'm not ready" I tell him as he chuckles walking to the door.

Stanley stood outside, "Morning Logan, Jamie" he greets us.

"Bad news" he says before we could answer him.

Logan's shoulder tenses scaring me, hoping bad news is not that bad.

"Ms Angela is at the breakfast table and they are expecting both you and you wife"Stanley notifies Logan and I.

"And?" Logan asks Stanley, who laughs dryly. "Her parents also stayed over" he says which angers Logan.

"Darn this f***ing day" Logan swears.

Putting a hand on his back, " hey, don't " I tried to get him to relax.

Logan turns to me, as Stanley takes the luggage. Reaching behind me he shuts the door, locking it.

Wrapping our hands together. we walked the short distance to the house, as I straightened my clothes and adjusted Logan's suit and tie, before he opens the door for us to go in.

We entered through the kitchen and was immediately led us to the dining room, where all eyes turned towards the doorway as we entered hand in hand.

I looked around the table and everyone wore a hostile expression except for grandfather, who moved the woman name Angela around to sit by, who I assume are her parents so that Logan and I could sit together next to him.

"Good morning Mrs Daniels" I greeted Logan's grandmother politely, "Good morning" I greeted the other three persons at the table.

"Grandfather" I greeted Logan's grandfather with a peck on the cheek.

Logan was quite and didn't greet anyone yet.

"Grandmother" he greets his grandmother, kissing her on the cheek.

His grandmother's countenance instantly lights up.

"See who came to visit, your girlfriend Angela and her parents. You remember them right? What a stupid question, of course you do, Angela is still the love of your one true love" she rattles on.

"Mr Riley, Mrs Riley, Angela, it's good to see you all again" he greets his guests curtly, drawing me closer to him.

"This is my wife, Jamie, Jamie Daniels. Jamie this is Mr. and Mrs Riley and this is Angela" Logan introduce me to his grandmother's guest without adding a title to Angela.

"Good morning, again" I greeted them again without any acknowledgement from them.

Logan ushered me to sit next to his grandfather and he joins me.

Smiling, I sat down turning to my husband whose hand was massaging my thigh.

"Would you like me to serve you?" I asked Logan.
