Chapter 1 It Begins

With Yang Kai's departure to the starboundary his parents, Dong Su Zhu and Yang Ying Feng conceived another child. This one would shake the very fundamentals of cultivation. His name is Yang Rai. He was born on a normal day yet, his growth rate was anything but normal. It had worried Dong Su Zhu greatly thinking something might be wrong. Her fears were unfounded the day she gave birth to this child. "You're going to be called Yang Rai." The boy's eyes sparkled like the purest jade.

Yang Rai began talking and walking at the age of just 5 days. The words he spoke were hardly more than gibberish yet he made them understand his thoughts to some extent. By the time he was a month old Yang Rai could speak fluently and began learning mannerisms. At this time he could run around without fear of tumbling. He was a gifted child, one that comes hardly ever. He started to read and write fluently by the age of 6 months. Everyday was another surprise. After a year passed, a party was held where Yang Kai's Wives came over.

"You're one year old now Rai'er how do you feel?" Su Yan said.

"Elder sister Su Yan, I feel… like surpassing my Elder Brother. Thus I must work Hard and Fast to distinguish myself. So when the day comes I can help him. I refuse to be any kind of burden any longer than needed. So I will be starting my path of cultivation tomorrow." Yang Rai said.

At this point everyone aside from his parents were shocked. But at the end of the day Yang rai was practically being pet by his four Elder sisters right now, as if he was some kind of teddy bear. It was rather cute, all things considered.

"No you need to stay cute like this forever," Xia Ning Chang said.

"I agree, you're too cute like this." Xue Yue said.

"Stay adorable forever, unlike Yang Kai." Shan Qing Luo said.

"Your big sisters will help you in any way we can Rai'er." Su Yan said.

"I'm going to reach the summit of the Dao and then raise the mountain until the world can no longer contain it." Yang Rai said, still being cuddled.

"What will you do if the heavens don't allow you to ascend further, Rai'er?" Yang Ying Feng asked.

"I'll lift the Heavens Higher and create more mountains and pillars to hold the new heights." Yang Rai said.

Little more talking happened and the following day Yang Rai officially began his body tempering. Every day he would study the techniques in artifact refining while focusing his body tempering. Yang Rai's aim was to become the best he could be. A month passed and he had finished dozens of books on artifact refining. He had also reached the first stage of the body tempering realm. After he finally managed to make the first breakthrough he noticed something odd. He continued to refine his body and instead of going directly to the second stage he gained a second separate first stage. It appeared in the span of a week. Realizing this he began devoting all of his effort to this study.

11 months later he had raised his Body tempering realm to the fifth stage across nine separations. He felt like he was cultivating nine times more than others. After all, he had already surpassed many others who were older than him. It was impressive and yet frightful at the same time.

"I should continue. It feels as though it gets harder but I must do it right. This is the most important part after all." Yang Rai thought to himself.
