12 Dull Eyes

"Mmmmmm no." I say.

"I didn't ask for your permission." Bruce says now standing in front of me.

"Mmmmmmmm yeah no I don't think so. Nope." I say before laying back down.

I lay on my back with my arms behind my head while looking at Bruce with a deadpanned face.

His eyes twitch while looking at how relaxed I am.

"We. Need. To. Talk. Now. We would have talked 2 days ago if 'someone' wasn't always with you." He says.

"Speaking of that 'someone' where is she." I ask.

Bruce visibly flinches then looks away.

"She's... Um- Watching the security footage." He says awkwardly.

'To make fucking Batman flinch? I'm scared to think of what she's doing. But I'm also curious.'

I use my telepathy to try and know what happened but I'm met with nothing.

Bruce looks back at me and glares.

'That wasn't very smart of me.

"Would you stop that?" He growls at me.

I stop and then look away from him guiltily.

"Telekinesis, Creation of and control of plants, Green skin, and Telepathy? I thought you could only heal yourself. So Roger how did you get these powers?" He asks.

"HAHHHHH JEEZ FINE I'LL TALK TO YOU!" I say annoyed while changing my skin back to normal.

I sit up and sit with my legs crossed and look him in the eyes.

A few seconds pass at us just looking at each other.

'Cassy, can you help me think of an excuse?'

(Why not just tell him the truth?)

'Because I'm not dumb. Telling him that I can evolve out of pretty much any situation in a couple of minutes to a couple of hours is the epitome of stupidity. Why would I give him my trump card?'

(Your right. Try to use your telepathy on yourself to accelerate your thought processing.)

I try to do as she says focusing on my brain and trying to make it process faster.

Suddenly everything starts to seem slow. My reactive evolution starts to work so that I can handle all the information coming in at once. From small specks of dust I didn't notice before to the slight irritation showing on Bruces' face because of our silence, I am starting to notice everything around me. But all of that was small compared to how fast I'm thinking right now. I already thought of and eliminated 20 solutions to the question I was just asked. While simultaneously gawking at the fact that I can think this fast.

I notice that my reactive evolution is still working helping my brain so that I can handle all of these thoughts while also making my thought processing faster.

The way that I'm looking for a solution is by running multiple simulations of what could happen and answers to questions he may ask. If I run into a dead-end or the answer that I would have to say can be easily proven wrong now or in the future then it will be eliminated and I'll go to the next solution.

'Got it.'

"I don't know." I say.

If it was silent before then now it's overbearingly so.

Bruce stares at me as if trying to read my mind as I did his.

"So... You sat there thinking just to say "I don't know"?" He asks.

"I'm just being honest." I lied.

"Hahhhhh" He facepalmed.

"Well, then can you tell me what's happening with the women around you? Wonder Woman has been noticeably obsessed with you ever since she saw you, Raven not only tried to kill you but when told that she failed insisted that you hated her and she needs to kill herself but doesn't want to die without you, and finally Starfire is starting to show signs of addiction to you." He asked.

"Diana is just crazy, Raven is also crazy but stupid as well, and apparently Star likes my smell a bit too much." I say quickly.

'Although it's not too bad and I can feel my reactive evolution trying to help me, accelerating my thoughts is making me tired.'

"That's the thing. Diana didn't show any signs of being crazy like this until she met you. But you don't seem to be lying." He says.

He looks away gazing at the wall seemingly contemplating something.

He looks back at me then says "I want you to keep her at bay until I can find a solution for your problem."

'I doubt you'll be able to do anything about her.'

"Who says I want you to find a solution?" I ask with a smirk.

"Your expression does. Not only do you seem annoyed and angry at your situation, you seem like you know what happened or to be more specific you have dealt with something like thi-" He was about to say.

As soon as I figured out that he pieced it together my mind goes back to the past.

3rd person POV-

Roger's eyes grew dull and his usually expressive face became eerily expressionless as if his previous personality was all but a lie.

Bruce starts to tense and grabs his Batarang getting ready for a fight.

The vines that looked as if they were dead started to rise again moving in between them to get into a position not to defend like they did last time. No, now they're aiming to kill.

A dreadful silence envelops the room no one daring to move an inch.

Roger slowly stands up and looks dead into Bruce's eyes.

All of the trained alarms in Bruce's head were going off while looking at those eyes devoid of emotions. The eyes of someone who has given up on life. The eyes of someone who doesn't care.

Bruce has dealt with people like this before so he shouldn't be so alarmed. But looking at his eyes Bruce didn't see someone looking at him as a person no the way he looked at him it was as if he didn't truly exist. Like he already knew him, like he knew his future and past, like he knows every little thing about him yet he's so insignificant that he doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Those aren't the eyes of a narcissist no they were the eyes of someone who knows. Bruce felt naked in front of him.

Suddenly the door slams open with a concerned Diana with wet thighs and a disheveled dirty shirt.

Roger looks at her and Diana visibly shakes seeing the dull eyes of the person she loves but before she could say anything Roger started to fall over with the vines.

Diana appeared in front of him and caught him before he could hit the ground.

"Get out!" She says through clenched teeth.

The anger she let out could literally kill someone.

She would have killed Bruce but she had way more important things to do like take care of Roger.

Although reluctantly Bruce decides not to say anything and leave not knowing that he was just in the clutches of death twice.
