34 Gobfins & A New Danger

"I can't believe you made it out of their in one piece, I was sure you were going to get shot at by those PIDF guys." Zoe said surprised at seeing my return after I had been away from Base for a few days, luckily the bases were all self sufficient and didn't need my constant hand holding from me to operate while I'm gone.

"Well I guess I got lucky at coming at the right time of the month that they leave the island for a few days, so I caught enough Pals to hit level 27 and now I can make a sphere assembly line and even Hyper spheres now, but the problem now is getting Pal Fluids to make cement." The problem is that Pals Fluids aren't something you can milk out of a water pal like you can Milk a Mozzarina for their actual Milk as Water Pals can only produce one or two Pal Fluids Weekly, so getting a lot in a short time isn't possible through farming.

"Oh that? Well Gobfins are the only Pals who drop the most when they are defeated and not only that they have to constantly produce fluids to keep their skin from drying out, their the only pal that makes it constantly so they are the best pals you can have to farm for the stuff, but unfortunately they are extremely hostile to humans, I've even heard rumors that they drag off people to their lairs and their never heard from again, but you can hear those peoples screams from time to time." She said while she was enjoying her salad.

"Uhuh, say are you just planning on living at this base from now on?" I said as I came back to see a new shack was built in the corner walled area of my base that wasn't there when I left.

"Well with you not coming back I thought those guys killed you or something, and I felt bad for these guys being left alone not knowing if you'd come back, so I built up a new shack here to keep everyone company while you were away, and if you were gone for more than a week I would have taken them under my wing since I wouldn't think you'd be coming back if you'd be gone that long." She try's going onto explain which makes me raise an eyebrow at her.

"You sure it's not just your old habits of trying to steal others pals acting up again?"

"What do you take me for?!"

"The former leader of the Syndicate and the guys who are basically the bandits of these islands, besides you should know pals would be freed from their pal spheres if their owner was killed, so if you didn't see that happen that just means I'm not dead alright?" I said before I went on a bit of a tirade about her needing to get over her old habits and to not steal others Pals.

"But with that all said, thank you for looking over this place with Grizzbolt while I was gone, it means a lot to me that you did that even if you didn't have to." I said with a smile which made her blush slightly before she gave me a pouty 'Hmph!' before turning her head to the side as to not look at me.

"Anyway, thanks for the info, I guess I'm going to have to go Gobfin Hunting." I say what I need before I head on off to my mining base before heading eastward towards the marshlands.

It was a marshy swampland that this area was like unlike the video games counterpart where it was more like a muddy sand bed kind of area.

The foliage was thick and the muddy water went up to my knees if I was wading through it and not currently ridding on Aria's back.

"Are you sure about this master? Gobfins are a bunch of savages who attack anyone that comes into their territory you know." Aria said questioning my decision in coming here.

"Well then it's best we quell the rampant Gobfin population and at the same time get the necessary pal fluids that I need." I say patting her side as I reassure her that is until-

"GIGIGIGIKEEEE!!!" Suddenly we heard what sounded like a cry or perhaps a shout from a nearby pal as I turned to see a nearby squad of male Gobfins wadding through the water with their makeshift spears as they pointed at us.

"Looks like the party came to us! Let's beat them down Aria!" I shout out as I worked in tandem with her to deal with these pesky Gobfins.

"GUKI!"

"KEEEE!"

"GWAH!"

They screamed out in pain as they were taken down one after another as they left behind their valuable pal fluids, which for some reason look and tasted like blue Gatorade, but only water pals could make this stuff and I still didn't really get pals physiology in the first place.

"Well I think this should do." After half a days hunting down the Gobfin population I had gotten over 200 vials, this should keep me a float for sometime.

With this we headed on back and began to have the mining outpost begin work on making cement with the fluids, bones and all the other necessary materials while also refining the ores into making more ingots along with processing stones and compressing them into Palidium fragments to make more pal spheres.

I stretched out my neck as I returned to my breeding base as I thought it was best I should relax.

"Well then I-" but I was suddenly interrupted by a vibrating in my Paldeck which I grabbed but looked at it seriously as it began to flash red, something it hadn't ever done before.

[DANGER! DANGER! UNKNOWN EXTRESTRIAL OBJECT IS HEADING FOR PALPAGOS ISLAND!] it said making me look up towards the sky.

And sure enough a shooting star appeared streaking across the sky as it traveled westward before-

*KABOOOOMMM!!!* the explosion cause the ground to shake from here, but from the looks of it, it landed somewhere in the badlands around Mount Obsidian to the west.

"Ahh this can't be good." I said looking at the smoke in the distance as to where it landed as I looked back at my Paldeck.

"Well now this is making it more difficult to get home." I say to myself as a new obstacle has appeared on my journey to find my way home.
