the hunger games (part 5)

'Who's she?' Looking at her Kyle was trying to grasp where he saw this red haired, as she seemed familiar. She then swiftly took another arrow firing it at Kyle, the arrow was really fast cutting through the air that Kyle struggled to keep up with it.

Just when he thought she was trying to kill him, the arrow simply passed the side of his head piercing one of the red crab head. The crab didn't die immediately, but the arrow wasn't done. exploding, it sent fragments of the crabs brain everywhere.

Kyle then gazed at the figure with a thank you nod, the female didn't reply instead indifferently looking at him. He then returned his focus back to the fight, taking out the crabs with falcon.

'I can't inspect her.' he said to himself, he'd tried inspecting her but all it said was system error. He found it strange, but this wasn't the first time he'd seen the message from the system. He'd tried inspecting people from this planet the moment he got here, but it just kept on saying system error no matter how hard he tried.

'I'll have to learn more about this planet.' He had very little to no knowledge about this planet, so he planned to gain as much information as possible before he could plot his next phase.

'Bam! Screech!' Kyle punched forward with both his hands to a crab killing it immediately, using the momentum he stomped his feet leaping a bit into the air. Descending fast, he slammed his hand on a crab sending waves of dust, creating a small crater. Performing a heel kick he sent two nearby crabs backwards, putting them in a trance as they stumbled to their feets.

'I have no choice.' Putting all the free 12 stat points he had to his strength boosting it up to 75, Kyle felt a new surge of energy within him. He was now stronger dealing more damage to the crabs shell, one by one the crabs fell to falcon's blasts and Kyle's strength.

Kyle was careful not to exert much of his stamina in this fight, he was faster and stronger than the crabs so he was fairing well. He dodged an attack from a crab that sent it's pinnicle straight for his waist, ready to snap.

Swiftly punching three times with his fist, his hands went through the shattered crabs shell, like hot knife cutting through butter. He could feel the soft meaty flesh of the crabs inside on his hand, with a disgusted look he kicked the crab away.

There were now about ten crabs remaining, this remaining crabs didn't attack like expected, seemingly watching Kyle and falcon.

"Come on, don't tell me you guys are gonna chicken out now." Falcon smiled teasing the crabs. Her dual beam blasters were now a bit red, because she'd constantly been firing off blasts after blasts to the crabs.

"As a higher advanced beast to a lower, your a disgrace and an abomination to your kind." She mocked them and that seemed to have gotten to their brains, as they now charged forward with murder eyes to falcon and Kyle.

'She really knows how to get under someone's skin.' Kyle shook his head seeing falcon annoy the crabs.

'Oh well.. let's get this over with then.' Crunching his fists he shot forward for them, swinging with precision for the crabs.

"Hey don't still my kills you jerk!" She yelled pouting her cheeks, Kyle just smirked at her a bit still battling the crabs.

"Let's see how you like this." Annoyed she pointed the blasters at Kyle, crunching her hands the blasters charged getting really bright red.

'Bang!' Unable to handle the constant usage and the immense pressure, the weapon exploded falling to the ground. Falcon wasn't hurt by the small explosion, instead there was a frown on her face.

"No! Beamy!" She screamed loudly falling to her knees, clutching the destroyed blasters on the floor. Kyle rolled his eyes glancing a bit at her. it wasn't a new behavior so he wasn't fazed by this, even the archer female had a hint of surprise on her expressionless face.

"You did this.." falcon roared her aura bursting out as she stood to her feet, rage visible all over her face.

"You're all going to hell!" Green liquid formed in her left hand, it then dropped to the ground in a thin line. Kyle looking at it was amazed with her ability, as she'd managed to form a thick version of her green whip with her ability.

'Bang!' She swung it lightening fast to a crab, the creature blocked by crossing it's chelae together but it didn't matter. Falcon's hardened green ooze, was far stronger and surprisingly sharper than it's chelae's.

'Screech!' The crab screamed in pain as it's chelae's fell to the ground, fresh blood spilling to the floor. The remaining group of about 5 crabs were stunned a bit, seeing their peer hard skin cut like that.

"Don't fucking avoid me!" Falcon screamed reaching the group in the blink of an eye, controlling the green ooze whip in her hand with her ability, she struck the legs of the 5 crabs cleanly cutting them.

The crabs struggled to crawl away from this insane alien but they couldn't, they were trapped in their worst nightmare. Falcon's aura spiralled around her, as she dominated the crabs her whip squirming with life on the floor.

"Now what do you have to say before you join beamy?" The crabs looking at this inhuman presence were filled with fear, they were unable to speak so they could just clank their teeths together.

"Despicable." The green whip then glowed more brightly, it's tip piercing the crabs back but not killing them.

"I won't give you a quick death, no! I'll make sure you all suffer, and die a slow and painful death!" She shouted, crackling like a psychopath that had just escaped from the asylum.

'Another day another stress.' Kyle shrugged seeing falcon unjustly punish the crabs. He couldn't blame her though, with all the things that had been happening lately one had to vent his anger on something. He didn't know why, but ever since his encounter with Lucifer something in him just snapped, a void he never knew he had surfaced in his heart.

'Huh! What's that?' Kyle could sense an item moving fast like a jet but without noise, he wouldn't have been able to detect it if not for his enlightened senses as a demon.

Turning he saw the object, it was black as the night so it blended well with the environment. the lit up mana stones and torches illuminated the maze, but it didn't entirely make things clearer.

The creature headed fast for the female still unaware, it would reach her in no less than five seconds if Kyle didn't act fast.

'Shit! what do I do?' He thought. there wasn't any long range weapon he could use to attack the creature, and he couldn't warn her cause it would be too late.

'Fuck! I hope I won't regret this.'

[Dark flames skill activated!]

Without any choice he activated dark flames skill, the dark flames burned more fiercely in his hand. And without wasting any more time he stretched his hand out, and the flames shot out like a jetski of dark fire for the creature.

"Duck!" Kyle shouted to her. she had a confused expression at first, but that's when she could finally sense the incoming creature behind her. Without wasting any more time she ducked to the ground, as the creature collided with Kyle's dark flames.

'Screech!' The creature screamed in pain crashing to the ground with force, Kyle moved back a bit from caution as the creature was just 3 meters from him. It squirmed in pain rolling to the ground, trying to get the flames to die out but it wasn't successful in it's attempts.

'Swoosh! bam! bam!' Two arrows were fired straight for the creature, piercing it's skin then exploding increasing it's pain.

"Get back!" The female finally shouted running down from the boulder she stood, still firing off multiple arrows at the black creature. Kyle looking at the creature was surprised, this female's red exploding arrows did little damage to it's skin. He knew it was at a stage higher than the intermediate, as it's toughness and speed were terrifying.

'Bang! bang! bang!'

"Screech!" With a loud screech the creature spread apart it's wings still on fire, staring at Kyle with it's red blood eyes. Now looking at the creature Kyle saw it resembled a bat, but it's fangs we're far longer than that if a regular bat, looking more of a vampire fangs.

[Vampirical Shadow Bat: the vampirical shadow bat is a highly predetorial creature, known for it's long vampire fangs and terrifying speed. It can hunt it's prey in any environment, and it's dark body enables it to blend smoothly to the night. Thus earning it the name vampirical shadow bat. (Strength:65 agility:185 stamina:81 resistance:205)

The creature then lept for Kyle with outstanding speed, reaching him within a second. He couldn't react as he couldn't even see the shadow bat move, the last he saw was the bat leap and the next it was on top of him.

"Argh!" He screamed as the bat sunk it's long fangs into his neck, drawing out large amounts of fresh blood. Apart from the pain he felt when the creature sunk it's fangs to his neck, he didn't feel any other pain. It was as if a soothing sensation overwhelmed his body, he could feel his body immediately go numb as he just stayed there.

"Ahh!" The female screamed firing off a barrage of arrows to the bat's head, but the creature simply shielded itself with it's large wings.

'I-is this how it ends?' He could see his hp going down before his eyes, and there was nothing he could do. It was just like the same situation that happened with Lucifer, he was useless to even attack.

In the blink of an eye the shadow bat had consumed 50% of Kyle's hp, the latter could feel his body going weak as he struggled to keep his eyes open.

'I can't end like this..' he fought hard to regain consciousness, amidst his blood loss.

"Get away from him!" Falcon screamed, fiercely swinging her whip with her full strength at the creature's body. The attack connected, causing the shadow bat to scream in pain discontinuing from it's blood suck.

Falcon didn't stop, instead fearlessly charging for the creature, violently slashing her whip at the creature. The beast then shot to the sky disappearing into the night, falcon then went over to where Kyle was her guard still up.

"Idiot how could you be so dumb." She tightly hugged him to her body, there wasn't any serious wounds to his body except the two fang marks, on the side of his neck.

"Don't you dare leave me! I'll never let you rest!" Falcon shouted seeing Kyle's pale face, a warm smile planted on his lips.

"A-am not dy-ing.." Kyle managed to utter, as the paralysis effect were starting to wear off. "My bo-dy's a bit numb, but I'll live.."

"I-i know that!" Falcon yelled embarrassed, she thought Kyle was dying on her.

'Bang! bang! bang!' Multiple bang sounds went off, as the female firing red arrows was now shooting at the shadow bat in the air. She was a very skilled archer so most of her arrows hit the bat, but the damage it produced wasn't much.

'Who's she?' Falcon also thought, staring at the independent young woman. She could see this female was experienced in dealing with this bat like creature, as she kept on firing at a particular place on the creature's body.

"H-help her."

"Fine! but am only doing this because I want to." She slowly placed Kyle to the floor, heading out to kill the annoying bat.

Meanwhile the female archer was running low on her red arrows, as she was constantly firing them off at the bat. It was hard to pinpoint the bat at night even with the dim mana stones, but surprisingly she could use her instincts to locate the creature.

"Steady. Steady.." she muttered under her breath, maintaining a solid stance. Her bow held out with an arrow in it pointing upwards, her breath was steady while her instincts sharp like a double edged sword.

'Swoosh!' She released her grip on the arrow, and it shot with great speed for the bat. It collided, and the creature screamed in pain still flying.

'Something's not right.' She heard the bang sound go off, but she had a gut feeling something was out of order.

"Screech!" Before she could react the bat had already pounced on her, about to sinch it's fangs into her neck.

'Boom! Boom! Boom!' What looked like small explosions went off behind her, as the creature writhed in pain. The whip then tightly clung to the creature's waist glowing a bright green, falcon using her strength slammed the creature into the wall. Forming multiple green shards she shot them forward, piercing the bat body and pinning the beast to the wall.

"Are you alright?"

"N-no. don't worry about me, finish it off before it escapes!" The red haired shouted shoving falcon away.

'Geez.. so much for friendship.' Falcon rolled her eyes. Gripping her whip tightly she turned to finish off the creature, but to her uttermost belief it wasn't there anymore.

'Slash!' She felt a sharp item pierce her back from behind, drawing out a chunk of blood to the floor. In defense she slashed her whip behind, but she hit nothing but air as the creature wasn't there anymore.

"Argh!" Multiple slash appeared at her back drawing out more blood, she wildly slashed her whip around but she didn't succeed in hitting the creature.

'I can't see anything.' As a fox she also had better eyesight in the dark, but she couldn't see or sense this creature at all.

'c-come on..' Kyle could now move both his hands as his legs were still numb, he wasn't going to watch again while another friend was killed.
