1872 Time Travel Paradox

Time travel is a relatively simple process that should have been invented long ago. The reason it hasn't, is because the "inventor" always ends up being killed by someone from the future that wants to claim the credit. Every new "inventor" takes on the fate of eventually being killed by the next "inventor."
