Resurrection Plant
If you're bad with plants, but still want to raise one, the resurrection plant is perfect. It's one of the hardest plants to accidentally kill. Drying it out and or removing a source of light will just cause it to curl up into a dormant phase that could last up to 50 years. In this dormant state, you can store the store the plant however and wherever you want. Once you're ready, you can place it in a puddle (you could even completely submerge it) and it'll "resurrect."
