Concrete will crack when drying, the trick is to control where it cracks. When pouring massive slabs, control joints will be used to direct where the cracks will end up. That's the reason why warehouse stores, such as home depot and costco, will have line cuts in their concrete floors. The cracks will occur at the line cuts and stay out of sight.
