Getting stronger

Liam didn't remained idle on the bed; he knew the dangerous situation he was caught in and he wasn't arrogant enough to think that he could fight his unknown enemies solely with the assistance of the 'Eroge System'.

In fact, the system wasn't an almighty being capable of providing him with powerful weapons or magical powers to combat foes much stronger than him. If it could, it wouldn't be easy, especially since he was still weak.

Even within him, he didn't put much trust on the system. How did the system came about? That question was stuck in his mind.

Since the system could somehow merge with him, he couldn't dismiss the possibility that someone was behind it. He needed to prepare for any situation, good or bad, to avoid being caught off guard.

He quickly went into the bathroom and had a quick bath before coming out with his shorts on.

'I need to get stronger quickly, regardless of the means. I don't care, falling behind would only make me a prey.' He thought while looking at the daily quest available on the system screen.

Different thoughts of how to get stronger wasn't hard but he was restricted and was monitor by Qiao Lian. He realized he'd have to take care of her as soon as possible in order to grow stronger without much restraint.

'That bitch is a huge headache,' Liam sighed deeply. 'What she is up to isn't a good one.'

"Good, I can see you're doing well. I was expecting to see you weakly lying on the bed, but it seems you're quite the surprise."

A familiar feminine voice ranged out from behind.

He turn to see Qiao Mei standing there, staring at him, her arms folded as she leaned against the door.

With his eyes fixed on Qiao Mei, he tried to predict her expression but had no clue.

"Qiao Mei," he greeted her with a forced smile.

She observed him for a moment then demanded. "Then, there is no need for the medicine?"

Qiao Mei had an odd look on her face, as if she were trying to see through him.

Liam noticed the slight change of expression on her beautiful face.

"Yes, no need for it ," he answered, trying to sound confident. "I'm fit for training now."

Qiao Mei regarded him silently before turning to leave. "You know where to meet me," She said over her shoulder.

The moment she stepped out, Liam quickly grabbed his shirt from the bed then put it on before rushing out.

He wasn't going to fall behind when it involved his training.

Walking down the corridor, Qiao Mei's thoughts were preoccupied with the strange sensation she had experienced earlier.

'What was that feeling earlier I felt from him?' She shrugged her shoulder nonchalantly. 'Well, maybe just a normal feeling.'

She pushed the thought away.

Liam trail behind her from some meter, he tried to catch up to her but couldn't with her fast pace.

The maids and guards respectfully greeted her by bowing their heads in honour.

While at the other hand, Liam was completely ignore by them, they didn't even spare him a single glance, treating like a non-existence.

He exited the magnificent building, closer to their training spot.

Liam marveled at Qiao Mei's agility to move up the hill top quickly, covering a big distance with each steps she took.

Getting to the top of the hill, he took in a huge breath. His top was completely drenched in sweat, as if he was thrown into a river.

He took him thirty minutes to reach the top.

He felt happy within himself for his improvement, it was unlike his first time that he experienced that horrible pain. Although, his legs were feeling weak but it was understandable, his body was gradually getting use to it.

"I'm already here," he announced his arrival, standing tall despite his shaky legs trying to fail him.

Qiao Mei stood there like a statue; it was obvious from her expression that she was lost in her thought.

Liam clearly noticed the strange expression on her face but decided to stay silent about it, minding his business.

"Great," She finally said.

Liam nod then spoke with a thoughtful look on his face. "Qiao Mei, can you make the training a bit difficult?"

Qiao Mei was surprise at his sudden request. She choose to go easy on him due to his weak body and here, the person she took pity on, was requesting for hard training.

"If that is what you want, I will grant it to you but know that, I'm going to stop you immediately your body can't handle it."

She began walking towards the other side of the hill.

Liam hurriedly follow behind her, couldn't wait to see where was taking him to.

He had to pass through the trouble of coming down the hill again which he didn't had difficulty with, coming down wasn't hard as going up.

Qiao Mei intentionally maintained a slower pace for him to follow.

Reaching their destination, Qiao Mei halt.

Liam began to look around in confusion for any discoveries, apart from rocks, there was nothing else around which made him look at her in curiosity.

Qiao Mei turned to him. "Why are you going to such lengths to train your body? Are you truly doing it to protect my cousin?" she asked, fixing her gaze on him.
