Basta's pinky promise

Back in Malghavan, Basta couldn't stop thinking about Aura and Yusuf for the slightest. Their life journey is very difficult. Relying on the money from selling flowers, Aura supports herself and her child. Their life was so sad but somehow the Xanders never found them before. Their conversation was actually still going on because for some reason Basta was so curious.

"Then what about your parents?" Basta asked for some reason his mouth was so presumptuous that he was still asking.

"Actually I was young at that time, I was 20 years old when I realized I was pregnant. At that time, Yusuf's father, Andre, was both still in college. My parents and Andre's parents thought that the baby I was carrying was a disgrace and they didn't want it. They all forced me to abort this pregnancy and Andrea couldn't refuse it. That's why that day Andre took me on his motorbike to a midwife whose information is a specialist in abortion. In my heart I pray that God will protect the life of the baby I am carrying because after all he is my flesh and blood," Aura's story with teary eyes.

"Then, the accident happened. I fainted but according to eyewitnesses, Andre died at the scene. Because of that, Andre's family hated me even more while my parents didn't care about me anymore. That's why I left and luckily I met a good grandmother who used to be a flower seller here. She gave me a place to live for free and she even paid for all my childbirth expenses. Even before her died, he gave me her business and her place to live," Aura's story again.

Basta closed the night by helping Aura sell. He even helped her clean up and close the tent. Yusuf clearly looks happy when there is a handsome and kind uncle who accompanies him and his mother.

"You don't mind if uncle often comes to visit here?" Basta asked before leaving.

"Of course not. I like having an uncle here. Uncle is funny. Besides, all this time I feel sorry for mom alone taking care of me and this stall," Yusuf's plain story.

"Why?" Basta asked.

"Many people have bad intentions towards Mama. Many take interest without paying. Some even steal Mom's money," Yusuf said looking sad.

"Is that so? Just take it easy. Uncle promises to visit often and make sure no more bad people bother you and your mom," Basta said again stroking the top of the boy's head.

"Uncle promise?" Yusuf's funny expression almost made him laugh.

"Of course uncle promise," Basta made a pinky promise with Yusuf.

And in his room Basta looked back at his own pinky. Where a promise he had made with a little boy down there. For some reason Basta's desire to protect Aura and Yusuf is get bigger. Aura's face is soft and sweet as well as Yusuf who is funny and adorable. Still lying on the bed with a view of the stars in the dark sky. Basta smiled to himself.

What? Why? I smile to myself because a widow with one child? God, what are you doing Basta? What would happen if the other Xanders found out about this?

"Why are you smiling to yourself?" A voice startled Basta.

"Oh my. Why are you bothering me?" Basta asked who saw Dion's figure there with a sweet smile.

"It's your fault. I've knocked on the door dozens of times but you haven't answered. I knew you were in here," Dion said without guilt.

"Ah really. What's the matter? Where is Ega?" said Basta who saw an unusual sight.

"Hm actually, I have something to ask," Dion asked doubtfully.

"What is it? Why are you acting weird?" Basta asked suspiciously.

"Hm, there's a friend who's performing tomorrow. You know performances like dancing. What do you think I should bring as a present?" asked Dion suddenly.

"Just a minute? What friend is this? And why not just talk to Ega about it?" asked Basta who was still curious.

"Can you just answer my question? And don't ask anything else?" Basta was actually suspicious but he didn't want to know more.

Basta turned to look at the flowers he had bought from Aura. Again he lied saying he needed flowers for his magic performance but it was all a lie anyway.

"Bring those flowers. I don't know for sure either but I used to see other people giving flowers to other people at a celebration. And isn't that performance or dance something also something to celebrate?" Basta said.

"Ah flowers? Great idea. But why did you buy flowers?" ask Dion back.

"Can you just take my advice? And don't ask anything else?" Basta said deliberately replying.

"Hahaha. Alright then. I'll take it. Thank you very much," Dion said leaving Basta's room with flowers in his hands.

Elsewhere, Ega meets Juno. Even though Ega was actually a year older than Juno, but somehow he acted like a child beside him. Juno was in the backyard of the castle. Closer to the lake which looks dark but the water reflects the moonlight perfectly. Juno was just sitting cross-legged by occasionally throwing stones into the water. Ega don't know what he's thinking and he don't know if this is the right time to approach him.

"Juno, can I have one of your paintings please?" Ega asked unsure because he knew Juno would not carelessly show or give his paintings.

Juno just turned his head and looked at Ega curiously.

"Suddenly? For what?" Juno asked.

"I wanted to give it to someone as a gift," Ega said not sure.

"Hehehe. Are you sure? My painting-" Juno didn't finish speaking yet, his sentence was cut off.

"Your painting is beautiful and that's why I would like to have one. May I?" ask Ega again.

Juno looked back at the lake in front of him and tried to think about the possibility that his painting would be transferred to someone else's hands.

"I'll think about it later," Juno said in the end.

"Don't take too long, uh that, I want to give it tonight," Ega said a little pitifully.

"What kind of painting do you really want?" Juno asked again.

"Hm, I don't know for sure either. Just… something beautiful?" ask Ega again.

"Okay I'll think about it. I'll find one that matches what you're looking for. So is this someone special?" Juno asked curiously.

"Ah? Hahahaha. What? No no. Just a friend," Ega said scratching the back of his head that didn't itch.

"Relax. I won't ask too many questions," Juno said meaningfully.

"Ahahaha. Thank you very much, Juno." Ega couldn't help but hugged Juno tightly and the man tried to escape.

"That's enough. I accept your words but stop hugging me," Juno finally said but smiled at Ega's silly behavior.
