Chapter Two:The Fight.

After a strenuous day at work, Valerie Blackfield opened the door to her scrappy looking apartment that could barely fit two adults in, to see her twin sister, going through her things in a hasty manner.

That was when her eyes scanned all over the room, to see that it was turned upside down. Her clothes littered everywhere, books? Everything was disarranged from its normal arrangement, as if a burglar came into her home, but this was no burglar's fault. It was Vanessa's.

"Vanessa!" She called, a smile rested upon her face seeing her older sister who was here. Despite the fact that she didn't know why her room was in this manner, she has missed her twin sister who had barely been able to keep in contact with her these past months.

As orphans left to carter for themselves since they were fifteen.Valerie had grown used to her sister, they did everything together until life happened and Vanessa had to choose her path to follow, which was working for some organization that she had no idea about. All she knew is that it's dangerous!

Vanessa turned to face her younger sister, but she wasn't too happy to see her. Her aura was cold and that made Valerie wonder what was wrong.

"Where is it?" Vanessa demanded harshly looking back at her, as confusion covered Valerie's face. Being the younger sister between the both of them, she had learned to understand the authority Vanessa held over her, but not in situations like this.

"I don't understand…" Valerie wasn't even done with her statement, before Vanessa kicked the table opposite them.

"The money! Valerie, I hid some money under your table." Vanessa said, running her hands through her hair frustratingly which made the poor young lady, know that something was wrong with her sister.

She had always known that something like this would happen, no it's been a while since she had dreams of Vanessa and the last one she has wasn't good. Vanessa took it upon themselves to carter for her and their nephew, who wasn't here at the moment and that was when Valerie came back to her senses.

"I had to use it on Chad's treatment. You know that his medications have gone short." She explained, while Vanessa signed loudly before moving past her to pack up her bag.

" Where is Chad?" Valerie asked, coming to block her from moving because she wouldn't like her next question. "What is that bag for? Where are you going, Vanessa. You have been avoiding us for months, and now you show up you are acting like you are on the run."

"He's at the neighbors and stop asking stupid questions. Valerie, I need to go." Vanessa jerked her hand off her shoulder before walking past her, but Valerie's next statement stopped her next movement.

"Something is wrong right?" Valerie asked, she was already crying which made Vanessa upset. She always cries about literally everything like she's a goddamn baby, but it was best that she stayed in the shadows about what was happening.

Being the eldest sister, Vanessa took it upon herself to provide for her and that of their late brothers, son. Who died in the fire accident years back with their parents. At first, they didn't have the money, neither were they capable of taking care of Chad when they had to live off the street to fend for themselves.

She associated herself with bad people, bad people that would hurt Valerie and Chadrick if they knew that they were related to her. That's why she's been keeping her distance from them, but Valerie doesn't understand the sacrifice she has to make. She refuses to use her money and has been working as a waitress to fend for her and Chad.

The only difference between the two twin sisters, was that Vanessa has green eyes while Valerie being the unique one among them had two different eye colors, Hazel and gray. But aside from that, no one could really tell the difference between them, which bothered Vanessa deeply but she just couldn't risk telling Valerie anything.

She didn't say anything and turned to leave, but Valerie yelled at her. " I deserve an explanation goddamn it! You are my elder sister but over the years i have been the one taking care of myself and Chad, while you do your thing without no one knowing your whereabouts." Valerie cried.

"I don't want to lose you, Vanessa. You and Chad are all i got. So please, stop ghosting me and tell me what's wrong, I will…try to get help…." Valerie added, coming close to hold her hand to stop her from leaving.

But Vanessa was the stronger between the two, she rarely felt pain. That's the spec of having undergone many trivial jobs, one that risked her life on many occasions just to take care of Valerie, and Chad, who was really sick.

Without the money coming, Valerie will suffer and so will Chad but she didn't want that for any of them. But Valerie always tries to act like she knows it all, acts like she's the perfect sister between them both when she has no idea what it's like to live her life.

"Please." Valerie, begged.

Her words seemed to work, because Vanessa dropped her bag and turned to face her. This time, she was crying too for reasons only known to her, which only made Valerie overthink about what was really happening.

"Listenand listen carefully, Valerie. I have a separate account registered under your name, it will pay off Chad's treatment until i am back…." Vanessa tried to explain, in a way that wouldn't give off the information she had to Valerie, Valerie might be stupid sometimes but she's smart.

Instead of listening, Valerie jerked her hands off her shoulder. "You are lying. You are not coming back. You destroyed all of our pictures together, Vanessa. You are acting like a criminal…." She wasn't done with her statement, before she felt the hotness on her cheek which made her mind, connect instantly to know that Vanessa hit her.

"I..im sorry, Valerie..i didn't meant to,I just…" Vanessa approached her, but Valerie moved back.

This wasn't her sister, ever since they turned sixteen and she started working and sleeping outside. Vanessa changed.

"Don't touch me!" Valerie glared at her.

"Valerie, you have to listen to me…"Vanessa didn't listen to her, and came further which made her leg kick the bag unknowingly, which she dropped on the floor earlier and its contents came out of the bag, one of it being a gun.

A gun!

What the …

"Valerie…"

"Get out! Get out of my house, and don't you ever approach me and Chad ever!" She yelled, moving back in fear of her sister, at this point it was obvious that she didn't know what Vanessa had become.

"I'm really sorry, Valerie. For everything." Vanessa said lastly before leaving her house, when the door closed Valerie's feet gave out, and she fell to the floor and broke down into tears.

In as much as she has reacted that way towards Vanessa, it was because she's afraid. This is the first time she had seen a gun, and the guts of it being inside Vanessa's bag, made her wonder if she had killed someone.

That's why she's running.

Life has always been tough for the both of them, but all she wanted was to live happily with her sister. But at this point, she can't say the same any longer, because Vanessa has chosen her path, and now all she's left is to pick up her life from where she stopped, and continue to provide for Chad all by herself.

To hell with her bloody money!
