1 The Tingles

Pink is in the house. Dominating and screaming from every nook. Pink is all over the damn place. Pink chairs, bed sheets, pillows, wallpapers, study table, study lamp, computer, laptop, pens..and the list goes on and on. I can sense a massive headache coming.

"So what do you think? It's very pretty, right? It's like a piece of heaven on earth besides my fiancé's arms. Look at that pillow Mavis omg I bought that yesterday in the mall. When I first saw that I was lost...well for a bit, Chris does that to me more." Flashes a dreamy look, "..anyways when I was about to get that cute Lil thing-" I interrupted. Massaging my temples I slowly turn around facing her with that glowing look on her face.

"Remind me how we ended up being friends again Sally," I told her bluntly, my smile wavering in its place. Her glowing face was replaced with a glaring look. "You're so mean Mavis!" she pouted like a 4-year-old, geez so mature of her.

"What? Hello Sally this room is like a horror house. Pink? Ew. Seriously this a girly girl room for girly pups and stop talking about Chris for an hour will you? Gah, you'll ruin my ears and this place is giving me a headache." I rolled my eyes at her.

"Ouch!" I shrieked when she pinched my left arm. I glared back at her. "You just insulted my new room, how could you?!" she chastised me and I just stuck my tongue out at her. "Honestly, the room is horrible, well, less horrible than last time, you painted and filled the place with illuminating green. I can guess your room a million miles away with that glowing green look every night and now pink? Yuck Sally." I look at her faking a gag. She stomps on her feet and even more if that's possible. Like a duck actually, I snicker secretly.

"Chris will hear about this!" and she marches out of the room in time for my laughter to bubble out. As expected from Sally. Recovering from my fits of laughter I look around the room one last time and cringe before I march out myself.

I trudge into the kitchen not exactly looking my way. I'm thinking about the perfect meal for now when I suddenly found myself lying down on the floor in an awkward position.

"Sally!!"I scream, scrambling my way up as I look around and there she is, the damn culprit who tripped me, rolling on the floor in laughter. My eyes turn to slits as I march to her rolling form. I forget that revenge follows every time someone plays mean. I was caught off guard. I reached for her ankles but unfortunately, someone barred her from my reach.

"Nuh uh, Mav, my love is under my protection. Therefore, you are not allowed to come near her, touch her, breath the same air she does or even looks at her blah blah blah..over my dead body." I arched my brow at him. "You sure about that?" I asked at him and he false a cough getting himself out of my way. Sally squeals getting on her feet as I grin and high fives with Chris.

"Off with her head!" I command in a force deep voice. Sally disappears from my sight in an instant. 'Aye Ma'am.' He grins with a salute as he runs after her fiancée. I shake my head in amusement. Those two are very compatible with each other and I'm very happy that they will tie the knot soon.

Yeah, very happy if only I could find my mate too... What the hell am I thinking? I shake my head pivoting on my heel as I rummage the fridge for food.

"That two again?" I jolted from my spot glancing behind me. I grin at the person and nod. "Late morning Amalia" I greeted placing a coffee mug on the table and pushing it towards her. I lean back on the counter sipping my mug of steaming coffee while biting my fill of apple. "Thank you. How's your morning Mavis?" she settles herself in the nearest stool taking a slow sip. I scrunch my nose, I mentally cringed as the images of pink wallpapers and things invaded my mind.

"Pink." Amalia chuckles. She knows what I'm talking about. "It's a cute room." She smiles then continues to sip the coffee I prepared for her. "Cute? You also said that last time when it was illuminating green, bloody red, sparkling yellow ugh they've caused me an eye strain." I mutter with my eyes wide, not getting the cuteness out of those rooms. Her smile widens then gone when her eyes turn glossy, someone's mind linking her.

"Alpha needs me." She smiles, taking a last sip of her coffee then placing the mug in the sink about to wash it. "I'll take care of that." I smile back. She thanked me again and she went on her way to the Alpha's office. Forget to tell you she's the pack Healer. I hum a song while enjoying my coffee in peace. You don't get to enjoy such things in the morning with no pressure of work behind you every day and the noisy pack members. The weekend is love. Even a werewolf-like me loves them too.

--

"Mav please let my wife off early." He pleaded. I rolled my eyes at him. "Shut up Chris, you've been doing that the past week. No. She's not going to have an early off. Suffer." I smirked when he pouted just like a kid. "And she's not your wife yet." He placed his palm on his chest stepping back with this hurt look on his face.

"You mean Mavis, Sally will hear about this!" and he storms off pouting. Gee, they're the same.

I busied myself arranging the stuffed gums and food in the stalls in aisle one of my mini-mart. Well, mine, cause my parents gave it to me as a gift before they went traveling around the world. They love traveling, it's been their greatest dream so yeah the mini-mart has been mine for almost three years now.

I heard the sweet sound of the chimes indicating a new customer. I shrug, I'm sure Laura can handle it, she's the cashier for today. I have 3 all-around staff in the mart: Alvin, Laura and Sally.

"Yes, Tan I would love to. Meet me at that bar. Take care." I cock my head towards that voice. It's a very nice deep voice in a soft tone. It'll surely lull you to sleep if it sings. But wait, Tan? I slowly took a step forward, I wanted to see the owner of the voice. I don't know but it has something to it. I reached the corner and was about to round it when someone appeared from it. I jump back in surprise clutching my chest. 'Shit.' I mutter under my breath which is useless. Werewolf hearing can still hear that unless you are one house away.

"Do you have wine in here?" I gasp. The owner of the voice! My heartbeat picks up its pace with no reason at all. The hell-I lifted my eyes slowly, I wanted to see him.

"Miss?" he said, snapping me from my world. "Yes!" I gasp out finally looking at him. My jaw unhinged. He's so damn hot. Hair black highlighting his dark bottle green orbs with long thick lashes. A perfect straight nose and those luscious pink lips...Mate.

"Miss." He snapped at me, getting me back to my senses. Shit, I can't believe I did that, ogling a guy openly. I pointed at my back. "A-aisle three.." I mutter and he zooms past me with an irritated look on his face. I stared at the space confused. Did my mind just say..mate? My eyes widen in realization. Fuck! he's my mate! I ran towards aisle 3 hoping to see him there. I need to touch him, he needs to know I'm his mate. Shewolves usually have a sensitive instinct when it comes to their mate so they usually recognize them first. Male wolves wouldn't even recognize their mate if the female wolves itself weren't aware. For males, they need a contact. That's one of the downsides of being a were.

Frantically, I reached aisle three but it was deserted. Wow, did I spaced out that long? I ran to the cashier counter but my heart dropped when I didn't see him there. Where is he? Laura looks at me with a frown on her face. I ignore her as I dash out of the mini-mart, whipping my head from left to right. A smile broke from my face when I saw him outside, he's about to get in his black car. I run faster but stop dead in my tracks a few meters away. I cover my mouth with a great force not wanting a shocked gasp to escape and alert him. There inside the car, my mate sat with someone, I could not see the other person's face clearly and what they did next chilled me to the bones. Like in slow motion I saw how their lips met in a kiss before my mate shut the door of his car completely hiding them with that heavily tinted windows. The car revved to life backing a bit then drove away, leaving a speck of dust in its wake. I slump on the cemented pavement in mixed emotions: frustration, pain, shock and anger.

What the hell did I just see? It can't be. I know that it's not good to jump to some silly conclusion but the pain blossoming in my chest says otherwise.

I feel something drop in my hand. I looked down and saw a liquid. Rain. Great. The skies pity me at this moment and in seconds I was soaked thoroughly.

Why? Why did my mate do that? Why did he kiss someone? Did he not wait for me? Not only that, what shocked and pained me the most was the person whom he kissed, he kissed a...man.

---

It's been a month but I can't get the thought of my mate out of my head. Sally and Chris's wedding is also a few weeks away now. I'm kinda guilty though because they now keep on asking if I'm okay about the wedding and it annoys me to no end. They've noticed that I'm acting strange. It was my fault for lying. Damn. I sat on the wooden bench sighing again. "Damn my life," I mumbled.

"It can happen but before that may you please point me to the nearest gift shop here? The best one." I bolted from my seat in surprise. I whip my head to that person. I saw a nice smile with cool blue orbs standing near the wooden bench. I stare.

"Sorry to startle you like that." And he smiles again. I smiled back. "It's fine, are you new to this place?" I can't stop myself from asking him. He is such a nice sight to look at with that friendly air around him and that nice smile too.

"You can say that and I need to buy a gift for someone." I nod before pointing at the place I just came from. "You can find some shops over there Sir." I beam and he beams back.

"I'm Luke, thank you..?" I giggle and thrust my hand in his direction.

"Mavis. Nice meeting you Luke and enjoy finding gifts for that someone." He shakes my hand, nice grip. "Nice meeting you too Mavis I got to go." He smiles before taking his walk. My stray eyes keep on staring at his back. "Stop burning holes through my back please." I flush in embarrassment. He can sense that?

"Apologies!" I yelled back at him. He glanced back and waves before disappearing from my sight as he rounded the corner. I clasp my hands on my face, willing the red tint on my face to go away. What the heck.

*

"Sally please I'm tired go bother your fiancé." I almost threw myself in the chair near me. We've been out shopping. She insisted saying she needs to look good for Chris and surprise him during their wedding night and went out to shop to her heart's content. She's a rich brat actually but because of boredom, she ended up working in my mini-mart, Solace. "But I need to doll up my hair." She pouted again. Oh my Betelgeuse, she's not going to stop.

"I-"

"Hey Mav, Sally." I almost sang hallelujah when I heard that.

"Laura, thank God. Going to shop?" I ask her with my eyes wide at the opportunity. She looks at me suspiciously before I push her to Sally. "She needs to doll up her hair." I beam and her eyes widen. "What?!" she utters before Sally drags her.

"You're safe this time." Sally glared at me while dragging Laura who's also glaring at me. My smile faltered. What can I do? I'm just so tired that my feet were already aching and all I wanted to do was laze on my lovely bed at the moment. Knowing Sally it would take her hours to doll her hair up.

I gaze around me not looking at something specific. Both wolf and human mingled with each other. Before, everyone was wary of wolves and so were humans. They all wanted to kill each other and dominate but after years of misunderstanding and some bloody sacrifice. They've called a truce and everyone's what they are now. Happy and peaceful, well except the rogues though. The stray wolves who chose to live and wander around. Some caused trouble and some just wanted to be alone. They're not a threat at all. I heaved a sigh as I straightened myself in my seat. Everything seems in the right order except me. Posh life. My sarcasm dripped at every word. I decided to get myself home.

"Mavis?" I turn my head towards that unsure voice behind the chair I've settled myself in. A smile bloomed on my face waving at him a bit. It's him again. "Hey, Luke?" I shot back eyes shining with mischief. He chuckles while taking his seat beside me.

"What are you doing here? You alone?" he asked, offering me a bottle of soda I didn't notice before. Acting buddies when we just bumped into each other twice. I'm that unique.

"Nope, I'm with my friends. They've gone dolling up and I'm kind of tired, so here I am."I shrug, still smiling at him, taking the soda.

"How about you? Why do I keep seeing you around?" I now look at him keenly. Right, is he in this town for something important? And as far as I know, you can't enter the pack or the town itself without the permission of the Alpha. In my town, humans and wolves reside together. They share the same town where the fun and busy life is. Also most of the wolves live in the woods in that town and they also became the extra guard and security for the humans in here. So him, being here and he is not a rogue, not that we restrict rogues that much, he must have the permission of the Alpha. Wait, is he someone important? I don't feel any strong aura around him.

He chuckled. "Some friend's important occasion so you'll keep seeing me around for a week or more." His eyes twinkle gorgeously and that made me smile widely too.

"Well it's nice to see you again but I need to go. "Shopping's deathly." I grin at him causing him to chuckle. "Alright, see you around again." his eyes were twinkling out of amusement too.

I stood up from the seat and waved goodbye to him. My days are getting interesting nowadays.
