Of late, rain has fallen far too scarcely. What harvests the dwarves have managed to scrape out of the selt have been wan. Amidst this famine, Thyrn, King of Nuxdur, has raised a great host and makes war on his neighbors, though out of desperation or opportunism it is unclear. In this chaos, a lowly construction worker named Wrolf merely tries to survive, but when his village falls to Thyrn he finds himself enslaved and impressed into the conqueror's army. Cursing himself as too cowardly to end his own life, Wrolf seeks death, but when he again stares death in the eyes, he finds himself reconsidering. Is death truly the answer? Or is life precious enough to hold onto even through the hardest of times?
