LI CORPORATION BUILDING
Li Muchen sat in his office chair staring at his desktop computer. He was the CEO of the Corporation and was well known for his good looks and intelligence. Well, that wasn't the only thing he was known for. He rarely laughed.
He placed his hand gently on the mouse and scrolling from top to bottom of his computer screen. Their stocks had dropped significantly, he frowned slightly.
Just then he had a slight knock on the door. He ignored it like there was no one there.
When he saw how persistent the person was he said coldly
" come in"
His secretary Hyung entered squirming at the side of the door like a scared cat, he almost pissed on himself when he felt the cold glare of his boss on him.
"Are you going to tell me why you are here or will you just keep standing there?"
"So..o..sorry sir" he stammered, he knew the message he brought was something his boss wasn't going to like.
But then, he had no choice but to deliver the message, if he loved his job.
"How did I end up working for such a man?" he thought to himself.
he then proceeded to speak with great difficulty.
"The chairman has informed me to remind you of the business meeting you have with Governor Kang tonight. He said you should not be late."
He sputtered one word after another as each cold glare sent shivers down his spine
Muchen was a 6 ft 4 handsome young man in his early 30's he was the CEO of the famous LI corporation.
They ventured into a lot of things with their major being metal mining and a popular gaming company.
He had fine dark curly hair, a pointed nose and a prominent Jawline which looked like it was carved by God himself, he had full eyebrows and lashes which highlighted the beauty of his eyes along with perfectly curved lips.
He was perfect, rich and handsome and yet he wasn't interested in women.
This was a mystery to everyone.
mother and father Li hand tried to arrange several dates for him with girls from reputable families but he just wasn't interested in any of that.
Now his father had arranged a date with Governor Kang's daughter in the disguise of a "business meeting" this time he knew his hands were tied. His father got him.
"Is there anything else he asked stoically?"
"No Sir " he replied shaking his head both ways. He bowed slightly and reached for the door.
"Wait" he ordered give this to Chairman Kim to review.
"Okay sir, he said stretching his hands to collect the file.
He scurried away from his office like a little puppy and heaved a sigh of relief after shutting the door.
He had been tensed and unable to breathe freely in the office. He felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest.
Mu Chen was nicknamed the ice God because where ever he went, his domineering attitude sent shivers down the spine of people present. hence the nickname "ice god"
He reclined his back towards his office chair and fell into deep thoughts. Why won't they stop interfering in my life he thought hitting the table hard.
Just then he felt the vibration of his phone. He took an at his phone screen. It was his mother.
He picked up the phone slowly placing it on his ear.
"Hello mother," he said in an icy tone
"I've been trying to reach you all day, why haven't you been picking up?" she asked impatiently
"Busy" he replied with just that one word.
"Do our conversations always have to be mechanical?" she asked rhetorically.
Of course, she wasn't expecting an answer.
"You know why I called. You have a meeting with the Kang's by 7:00 pm don't jeopardize the opportunity. It's a good family and you know that."
"Okay, mother" he responded coldly.
The call went off and he couldn't help rehearsing how he was going to act in front of governor Kang's daughter. He knew how intolerable he could be and he had to restrain himself from doing something that would affect the deal.
A government construction project was ongoing and they had decided to give the contract of metal supplies to the Li's. Chairman Li and Governor Kang were close allies more so, chairman Li was in governor Kang's debt and the only thing he asked was for their families to unite.
To Governor Kang, there was no big deal in that but chairman Li knew that it was almost close to impossible. Hence, he had sent Mu Chen instead to close the deal, it was a meeting he wouldn't refuse. As if there was anything he cared about so much was the company and the family's status.
Muchhen's parents had been worried about the future of the company, other heirs his age were already married with at least 2 kids and here he was not even dating anyone.
They needed a grandchild, a son, to prevent his uncles from taking claim of the properties that were supposed to remain in their family.
Muchen looked at his wristwatch was almost 6:30 pm. They were to meet at Mayfield hotel which was about 15 minutes drive from the Li corporation building.
He placed a call to his secretary.
"Tell the driver to get the black limousine ready."
"Yes Sir"
He looked at his computer screen once more, he knew. they needed the contract, their stocks have dropped remarkably.
He put on the grey coloured suit he hung on his chair and walked out of his office. Secretary Hyung already knew the routine. He locked his office doors and trailed right behind him. They got into his private elevator which took them down to the ground floor, few meters away from his parking area. The driver stood beside the black Limousine and then opened the door for him.
He sat in the back seat of the car and they drove off to Mayfield hotel. He kept to time and he hated waiting, time was precious. He had hoped Governor Kang was also such a man.
He walked into the prestigious hotel, he had been there for several important meetings. They had agreed to meet at the restaurant on the second floor which was usually reserved for very important persons.
He went into the section reserved for his meeting and sat down it was already 7:00 pm he impatiently glanced at his wristwatch from time to time.
Hyung could only pity him. He had worked with him long enough to know how much he hated being kept waiting.
Lee Eun ha was the waitress assigned to serve the table.
"Eun Ha, these are very important guests, I want you to do this competently. Governor Kang and the CEO of Li corporation will be meeting here and this is a list of what should be on the table before you serve their meal."
"Yes sir" she replied firmly.
