1 Waterfalls

I woke up to the sound of running water, but it doesn't sound like it's coming from a tap though, and I wanted to shout at someone to just turn the damn thing off, but I said nothing as I felt even if I did. The sound is probably too loud for the person to hear me unless they are standing right beside me. So when I opened my eyes, I tried to figure out where the sound was coming from, so I would turn it off myself, but then something weird caught my attention...

I was on the ground...

"Wait, a minute...Why am I on the ground?" I asked out loud, completely alarmed by this... I was not just on the ground, I was lying flat on my stomach on the bare ground, a grass...

I groaned, as I tried to get into a sitting position, while also holding my head with my hands, as I felt as though it's going to fall off if I don't.

I'm having this splitting headache that I know I've never experienced before, or at least I assumed so...

I'm on the ground in a very unusual position and I don't seem to have any memories of how I got here or any memories of what had happened to me... I could have said I was drinking too much, but I can't remember a thing, not the night before and not even...

"oh my God, I remember nothing," I said out loud and panicked...

My breathing rate becoming jagged as I tried to comprehend what was going on, but I couldn't. I was having a panic attack, as I could feel my breath hitch and making it hard for me to inhale freely...

I forced myself to take a deep breath. Maybe that will calm me down...So I took a few deep breaths in.....and out.

In....out

In.....out,

I tried this for a few more seconds and was calming down before I looked around...

Okay, now I'm in even more panic. This time around, I don't think just deep breaths would cut out for it "why the everything holy am I amid trees and mountains?!" I shouted again perplexed...

I looked around and I'm sitting on what appears to be a carpet of grass; I tried thinking, or rather remembering how I got here, but the only thing my head came up with was an excruciating headache, making me feel frustrated...

"Why am I even having these headaches?" I asked loudly, visibly frustrated with the whole situation.

"This is insane." I said again after a while...

Okay, first things first what's my name I asked in my head...'Keera' my head offered.

"AKEERAH," I exclaimed, as that's the only name that came into my mind.

Okay, at least that's good, as that meant I won't be nameless, I thought helplessly... I remembered been called Keera by someone, but I can't make out their face or remember their names, but my full name is "Akeerah Duke Walter."

"Well, that's progress, since I at least recall my name," I said to myself after a while, feeling a bit of hope...

Looking down at my body, I found myself covered in dirt, what appeared like a mud stain on my blue pants and off-white chiffon blouse, or what used to be...

I was still sitting on the floor, totally confused about what to do next as I tried to massage my head in hopes to reduce its aching before I tried to get up from my sitting position to go find something, anything would do for a start.

I have a lot of questions bugging my head, but I will have to look for answers for them later. As important as finding answers may be, right now what I need is to survive first as I could only find answers when I'm alive.

I could still the sound of gushing water, which was the sound that woke me up, so I tried to walk towards the direction of where I think the sound was coming from, and when I found it I was taken aback by the magnificent sight before me...

The view before me was entirely mind-blowing!

Just a few meters away was a waterfall so beautiful and elegantly falling, that it takes your breath away literally.

The view was so glamorous that for a moment; I forgot all about the pounding feeling in my head...

This is so beautiful that it could be a tourist attraction point, I thought while gawking at the water before me...

This is something magnificent and peaceful.

By the waterfall, a few meters from where I stood, were beautiful fields of lilies and white roses.

And just the mere feeling I got from staring at them made me want to forget everything and everyone and just live in the moment...

'Not that I remembered anything though'.

But Staring at them gives me the feeling of calmness that you wouldn't certainly feel at the moment, judging from the pain I'm in right now...

I tried approaching the lake in which the beautiful water was cascading into, crouching down I scooped some of it into my palms before bringing it to my mouth to drink. I repeated this a few more times, before using some of it to wash my face and pouring some over my hair...

I then sat down by the water, just staring off into space, while so many thoughts ran through my head at the same time. These thoughts only made my head ace worse, which then forced me to stop thinking and rub caressing circles at my temples, hoping to reduce the pain.

But that didn't seem to have worked though, because I was still having the headache. So I tried pouring more water over my head...

Pouring more water on my head seemed to do the trick, as my headache seemed to have reduced to a minimal level as I continued to pour more water on it. I was just about to get up and go find something, anything at all, but then something else caught my attention beyond the beautiful waterfall...
