118 Temporary Allies

"Sylva gestured gracefully to an empty chair, inviting Lucius to take a seat. He complied with a nod, his gaze briefly flickering at Martha's friendly smile before refocusing on Sylva and Corvus. 

There was a palpable tension in the air as nobody spoke, and both Kevin and Charlotte appeared visibly on edge. Eventually, it was Sylva who broke the silence.

"Lucius, we and the goblins have a pact," Sylva began, and her words faltered a bit. Martha continued for her, "When they reach level 8, 'we' are not allowed to interfere with each other normally." Sylva nodded in agreement.

"Why is that?" Lucius inquired, his curiosity piqued. Sylva struggled a bit and provided an answer, "''No kill members, otherwise death, from everyone. EXP, Lucius. Your level. Killing wild monsters. Monster waves. Now." It was a cryptic response, leaving Lucius with more questions.
