Situation At Mess Hall

Li Rin looked at the man that spoke the words and asked, "Why are you leading me to the barracks?"

The man turned his head to the child and replied, "You are now in the army. You will live with your unit. Which is us. We will live under one roof, eat the same food, sleep together and die together. Everyone pays for the mistakes of one. Remeber this."

Li Rin slowly nodded his head, "Alright."

"Follow me," The man said one more time before walking out of the building. Li Rin followed the man to the outside of the building.

The man walked further ahead leading Li Rin after him to the barracks. The man glanced at Li Rin and noticed that he managed to walk normally. Surprise flashed in the eyes of the man. He looked at him and closed his eyes before opening them a short moment later. The man looked at the path ahead and said, "My name is Dri Ri."

Li Rin looked at this man who told him his name. Li Rin sighed and thought, "Not all Ryio are that bad my adoptive father, mother and sister are good people. I should not hate everyone." Li Rin looked at the man walking ahead of him and said, "My name is Li Rin."

"I see, "The man smiled and nodded his head. And the two walked off into the distance. Li Rin watched how his surroundings changed. After walking for a while they finally arrived at the large courtyard which was on the outskirts of the city. There was not one building but several of them. The man led Li Rin inside this courtyard and he approached the closest building. The man stopped the building and looked at Li Rin, "This is the mess hall. All the meals you will have will be here. The one in the further back is the lodging building. You will sleep in that building on one of the beds. You will wake up at dawn and go to sleep before dusk. The building towards the right is the briefing room. You will only go there when you are assigned a mission." The man paused, "Do you have any questions?"

Li Rin nodded his small head, "We have to go to the city every day?"

"That's right, " Dri Ri said.

Li Rin nodded his head and shook his head, "I don't have any more questions."

Dri RI nodded his head, "Alright. Let's go to the mess hall."

Li Rin with no words nodded his head. The man looked at Li RIn and sighed, "The general didn't teach you?"

"Teach me what?" Li RIn asked in a confused voice.

"Whenever a higher rank officer addresses you, you must always end your sentences with. Yes, Sir! Try it."

Li Rin frowned, "Why?"

"Those are the rules," Dri Ri explained.

"Yes, Sir!" Dri Ri nodded his head, "Alright. Let's go to the mess hall now."

"Yes, Sir!" With Li Rin's words, the two walked to the mess hall.

They stopped at the mess hall. Dri Ri looked at the doors and with one hand pushed it open, "Let's go get some food." They walked inside and Dri Ri explained, "Take a tray and get in line."

Li Rin walked up and extended his hand up as the trays were placed above Li RIn's head. After taking the tray. Li Rin walked behind Dri Ri and waited with him together in a line. The child got his turn then received his meal and went to the same table as Dri Ri.

When other men saw the human again. They all sighed and they all thought, "So this is really happening?"

Li Rin placed the food in his mouth one bite at a time. The man looked at Li Rin and explained, "Just put the tray on the pile there and you can go to bed. Li Rin nodded his head and walked up to the place he was shown. Li Rin wanted to put the tray but he frowned as the piles on the tray there made it impossible to reach with his height. He looked at Dri Ri and said, "I can't reach it."

The man sighed, "What am I your mom? Do it yourself!"

Li RIn frowned and looked at the same man, "I can't reach it. Either put it for me or I am leaving it. Didn't you say that you all pay for the mistakes of one? Don't you think it's logical to help that one then?"

When the men in the mess hall hear Li RIn's words. They all stared wide-eyed at the child. When they heard the words of the child they all frowned and thought, "That does make sense." This was their first time encountering such words and such a situation. Usually, they could all do the tasks before them by themselves.

Dri Ri silently took Li RIn's tray and put it on the other trays that were piled up. He looked at Li Rin and said in a low voice, "Let's go to the lodgings." Li Rin nodded his head and followed after the man who walked in silence.

The man led Li Rin to the lodgings and said, "Let's go inside" With his words the two walked inside and a room with of beds opened up to them. Dri Ri looked at Li Rin and said, "Your bed will be that one at the end of the room."

Li Rin looked at the bed the man specified and frowned, "Someone is already sitting on the bed with closed eyes."

Dri Ri frowned, "That bed should be open." He approached towards this bed and looked at the man resting on it. Dri Ri frowned, "Take the bed to the right of this one then."

Li Rin nodded his head and he got up on the bed, "Good night!" The man frowned, "What good night, start your cultivation."

Li Rin frowned, "I have to cultivate at night?"

Dri Ri nodded his head, That's right!"

Li Rin nodded his head, "That's right I have to cultivate as much as I can. I have to get the strength to break out of king's control and kill him."

Li Rin jumped on the bed and sat cross seated. He closed his eyes and drew in the world energy strands into his core. He could feel how the world energy slowly entered his core.

Dri Ri nodded his head, "That's the way!" The man turned away from Li Rin and he walked up to his own bed and sat cross-legged. The man absorbed the world energy into his own core as well. The room in ten breaths of time was filled with people. Each and every one of those people sat on their beds and they all absorbed the world energy into their cores. Every person in the room submerged into cultivation.

The room submerged into the darkness and every man on the unit now cultivated with legs crossed.
