The Auction!

Feng opened his closed eyes when he heard the voice of a man and he saw Ro come out into the cell hall. He followed him with his eyes as he walked down the cell hall and as the voice of the man continued to sound, "I said rules. But there really is only one rule. You can only bid with the cards that you were provided with just before you entered the auction hall." As the word – hall, sounded, Ro stopped in front of the cage that was opposite of Feng's and as the voice continued on to say, "Raising the card with the number one written on it will—", he opened it and said in a loud voice, "Come out."

Feng looked into the opened cage and saw a teenage girl. She was sitting on the ground and shaking with her knees touching her forehead and her hands covering her ears.

"Didn't you hear me?!" Ro shouted out, but the girl didn't move. Seeing this, he walked into her cage, grabbed her upper arm and pulled her up.

"No!" the girl screamed out. "Let me go!"

"Let's go," Ro said and pulled the girl out of her cage as she screamed out, "No! Let me go! Let me go!" Then, he pulled her out of the cell hall as she continued to scream out the same words over and over again.

"Esteemed guests please give a round of applause for the first slave."

A lot of loud clapping sounds sounded and they were followed by a sound of someone falling onto a hard wooden floor.

"This girl is fifteen years old. She has a beautiful face and can be used as a waitress or as anything you want her to be. The starting price will be twenty thousand gold coins." As the word – coins, sounded, Ro once again came out into the cell hall. He walked up to another cage.

"That gentleman, twenty-five thousand gold coins!"

"Going once!"

"That madam over there, thirty thousand!"

Ro opened the cage. "Come out," he said and out of it came an old man.

"That gentleman over there, forty thousand!"

"Going once!"

Ro led the old man out of the cell hall.

"Going twice!"

"Going thrice!"

"Sold to the gentleman in the fourth row!"

"No!" a girl's screaming voice sounded. "Anyone but him! Anyone but him!" Sobbing sounds sounded, "Anyone but him, anyone but him…"

"Esteemed guests please give a round of applause for the second slave."

A lot of loud clapping sounds sounded.

"This man is old but he is experienced. You can use him for any task that would require an experienced man like him. The starting price is five thousand gold coins!"As the word – coins, sounded, Ro once again came out into the cell hall. He walked up to Feng's cage.

"Six thousand!"

"Six thousand, once!"

Ro opened the cage. "Come out," he said and Feng walked out of it.

"Six thousand twice!"

"Six thousand thrice!"

Feng followed Ro out of the cell hall. He was led to behind the scenes of a huge stage and he saw the auctioneer standing on the podium in the centre of the stage, the old man standing slightly to his left and Po standing slightly to his right. Below the stage, he saw many men and women from the ages as young as eighteen to ages as old as seventy.

"Sold to the madam in the first-row!" the auctioneer said as he pointed his hand at an old woman.

Po walked up to the old man. "Let's go," he said and led him down the stage and out of the auction hall.

"Esteemed guests please give a round of applause for the third slave," the auctioneer said and started clapping. The men and women below the stage joined him.

"Go on," Ro said.

Feng walked out onto the stage and stopped where the old man previously stood. He looked over the people below the stage. "I am going to kill whoever dares to buys me and make me into a slave," he thought and coldly harrumphed.

"This boy is around the same age as the deceased young master!" a man wearing a black cloak mumbled and resoluteness appeared in his eyes. "I must buy him at any cost!"

"Starting price is eighty thousand gold coins!" the auctioneer said.

The man wearing a black cloak raised the card with the number ten written on it.

"Ninety thousand gold coins!"

"Going once!"

The old woman raised the card with the number one written on it.

"Ninety-one thousand gold coins!"

The man wearing a black cloak raised the card with the number ten written on it again.

"One-hundred-one thousand gold coins!"

"One-hundred-one thousand gold going once!"

"One-hundred-one thousand gold going twice!"

Another old woman raised the card with the number four written on it.

"One-hundred-five thousand gold coins!"

The man wearing a black cloak raised the card with the number ten written on it for the third time.

"One-hundred-fifteen thousand gold coins!"

"One-hundred-fifteen thousand gold coins going once!"

The first old woman raised the card with the number one written on it.

"One-hundred-sixteen thousand gold coins!"

The man wearing a black raised the card with the number ten written on for the fourth time.

"One-hundred-twenty-six thousand gold coins!"

"One-hundred-twenty-six thousand gold coins going once!"

"One-hundred-twenty-six thousand gold coins going twice!"

"One-hundred-twenty-six thousand gold coins going thrice!"

"Sold to the gentleman wearing a black cloak in the back!"

"I have never seen even one silver coin in one place before. Let alone one gold coin. And he bought me for one-hundred-twenty-six thousand gold coins. But I am still not going to be anyone slave! I am going to kill him!" As Feng's thought concluded, Po walked up to him. "Let's go."

Feng followed Po down the stage and out of the auction hall to the reception desk.

A few minutes passed and the man wearing a black cloak walked out of the auction hall. He walked up to the reception desk, paid for Feng and looked at him before saying, "Let's go."

Feng nodded his head without saying anything and followed the man out of the building and to one of the many carriages. They entered it and the carriage started moving. The man removed his black cloak and Feng saw that he was an old man with short white hair and dressed in a black suit.

"My name is Qin Se and what is yours?"

"My name is Feng."

"Nice to meet you, young master Feng," Qin Se said and bowed his head while covering his right fist with the palm of his left hand

Feng tilted his head in confusion. But before he could say even a single word, Qin Se raised his head, lowered his arms and continued on to say, "You are the bastard son of Xiao Fang."

Feng's eyes widened and he couldn't help but blankly stare at Qin Se in shock.

"Young master Feng. We will arrive at Xiao family estate in just a few hours time. Please rest until then." Finishing his words, Qin Se closed his eyes.
