Pros: -Most supporting characters do get more screen time after their original appearance with ample character development. -The high notes and low notes of the novel aren't heaven and earth apart like a few other novels. -The story is perfect for both binge reading and daily reads, it has things to offer for both styles of readers. -The MC is clever, really clever, and the author shows it rather than tell it. Cons: -This is a harem novel with very loose romantic plots, romance is pretty much the most minor point of interest for every character at all times. -The story has been said to feel very exhausting to read, as the action goes on non-stop. But the pacing gets better over time. -There are quite a few non-main-story chapters, but if you're binge reading that shouldn't matter. -The world building can be better, but the author overall does a good job of sticking to familiar locations without overwhelming you with too many at once. I'm happy to be able to work on this novel, and I hope everyone will be able to enjoy it as much as I did.

If someone wants an actual short review that has nothing to do with Qidian ****ery here you go. This novel is fantastic. It’s easily in the top 3 of webnovels I have ever read. It’s setting is greatly fleshed out and interesting. Unlike other authors who refuse to fully imagine what the future would look like or those who just leave it as “basically nothing changed except haha realistic VR”, this novel goes all out in its setting. Set in the far future, humans have gone very far, but not unimaginably far (a 'problem' most people have with ScFi). They successfully survived the singularity (though its not mentioned as such) as the super intelligent AI created is on humanity’s side. This is not just a plot point to justify a few events, but she (spoiler) is a real, major character who has character development. The countries of the past have (realistically) either evolved or disappeared and are replaced by new ones. A point to note is while there are people with super natural powers on earth at the beginning of the story, they are not cultivators. The people on earth have powers they were born with that they advanced, not powers that anyone can obtain through hard work. Cultivation is something introduced to humanity from the other world 'game', bolstering humanities combat powers. The MC is from the future, which many readers dislike, but it actually feels like it in this novel. The MC is a genius Engineer who helped humanity evolve there technology to battle against their enemies. He is also an expert in the other world that humanity enters. Now you may think this is very annoying, as he sounds like a protagonist who can do anything. The thing is, he can not. His knowledge of the future only really helps him 3 whole times before future events change too much for them to be of any use. His status as a genius on earth is quickly realized, but future events move forward too fast and prevent him from taking much advantage of his future knowledge, as he is basically forced to carry humanity through events that they were originally supposed to have time to prepare for. This means he is always working very hard and is often barely able to win most battles (he actually struggles). His position as a previous life expert isn't very helpful in the other world either, after a while, as though it does help him be recognized as talented, the many events playing out happen when he is too weak to handle them using his own power (as its a cultivation world), forcing him to plan and scheme. This is a harem novel but the MC isn't an idiot. You can think of him as someone like the MC of tales of demons and gods, but way less dense. He loves the main heroine a lot and proactively tries (and succeeds) in dating her, but he still cares greatly about other the other females around him, his master in the other world and the princess of one of earths major nations. The only real complaint that could be had is that this novel had basically no SoL, he is always doing something and events happen one after another. There is obviously bridges between them, but he doesn't really have points where is relaxing, as he has to manage to worlds and not just one. I would personally prefer for the MC to have some down time where he just sorta hangs out with his friends (who actually exist and are rather important) and girlfriend(s). Before you decide this is a **** novel, lemme tell you this. You are an idiot. The low ratings this novel has because before, this novel was being translated by a TL who tls it for free. When he have us news that WAO will be taken by qidian, he readers got mad and gave this novel low scores in hopes qidian won't pick it up. Now that they did, they fcked up the novel. They should have: - cleared the reviews on this page. - gave it the same cover, the new cover is crap - they first 60ish chapters are from qidian which has **** quality, they didn't upload the 60ish chapter from the TL we all read from. Anyways, if u wanna know about the read quality of this novel, lemme tell you this. It's much better than Lord of Mysteries. Don't believe me? Just try the first 200. Other novels drop in quality after 500+ chapters yet, this novels quality increases every freaking chapter. The plot is so huge, that in the raws which is 1900+ ongoing, I asked those who read the raws and they said they r going crazy from waiting. They said that the novel gets legendary good, and even in 1900+ they don't think the novel is gonna end anytime soon. They said the quality of this novel increases drastically.

I know this novel is below average but can you guys stop saying that Qidian stole someone's work. They didn't stole it they bought the copyright licence to translate it in English. Only read a few beginning chapters, but the novel looks like trash power trip to me. I generally enjoy returnee novels, but I will not be reading this one. The MC is a top-level fighter/strategist before return, leading operations planning for the whole nation AND being the one to slay the final high-tier Demon Lord. So, he was already pretty strong, if not among strongest humans. After he returns, knowledge of the future should be enough already to make an interesting story in his hands, but NO! the author decides to drop addition OP skills on him, and also gives him extra time to cultivate, a full year before previous game start. It will make a boring power-tripping MC, I think. The Reality world is a crazy mix of mecha-future and wuxia magic nonsense, with crazy asian clans, young masters and other usual annoying crap. Which only diverts attention from Game world into unnecessary face-slapping/romance drama. I could've swallowed making MC too OP, but that extra wuxia idiocy is just too much.
