Chapter 19 - Ice Qi

"No, no, no" She started hitting the rock with even greater force. But little to her knowledge, the avalanche's speed increased.

Ding

「Qi affect a larger area and is not recommended in this situation. Recommending to use a set amount of Qi. Estimated time until avalanche reaches, 20 seconds.」

She heard the voice and did as instructed.

"Yes!"

She limited the amount of Qi she used in the next punch then punched the rock.

Thud!

However, this was nowhere enough to break the rock.

She punched it again. This time, the rock was broken but the avalanche's speed increased again.

She punched the rock again with lesser amount of Qi and again until her fist started bleeding. Every second was important as the avalanche was getting closer and closer.

She gritted she teeths but didn't stop. Instead she punched the rock faster trying to find the balance at which the rock could be broken.

The strength of a cultivator when they use only a few Qi is much weaker than when they do.

But it is still far immense than a normal person's.

「Avalanche reaching in 8 seconds」

The rock was still only half broken and couldn't be used as a resting place.

The avalanche was just above their head when Angela prepared herself for the last attack.

Thud!!

She used all of her strength in the last attack. Which made the boulder into smithereens. She then took luan's arm and jumped inside the small "cave".

Swoosh!

The avalanche went in front of them. It was made out of snow, Ice soils and debris.

Its speed was so fast it didn't had time to come Inside the cave as the weight of the debris and ice on top of it moved it down the mountain.

Angela was glad that now they were safe. She quickly looked towards luan who was unconscious.

Whoosh!

His white eyelids were covered in frost and the body was petrified to a certain extent.

"Luan!" Angela went towards Luan and tried moving him. He didn't make any movement so she placed her head on his heart.

Thumb, Thumb, Thumb

It was still beating properly and sighed in relief. The ice on his arms, face and body started warming down slowly.

"Ah" Luan gently opened his eyes. He felt something warm on his body even though the storm hasn't calmed down one bit.

He looked down and saw Angela tightly holding on to him. He was taken aback by it for a second.

He gently put the sleeping Angela down who was on top of him. It was a 5 meter deep cave so there was enough area for him to move around.

He sighed. "Two dangerous incidents in 2 days? Luck is not on my side."

"But thank god we're safe."

He just sat down and after a few minutes, Angela also woke up.

She rubbed her eyes and remembered what happened. She started looking around and saw luan sitting inside the cave.

"Luan!"

Luan greeted her and asked what exactly happened.

"It's amazing you endured that ice cold temperature. We are 5000 meter in the sky." He said looking at the ceiling.

"Anyway let's do the thing we came here for." He took his scythe out and looked at Angela.

"Think you can do it?" He asked.

"Yes"

"I'll come in a month." Luan said.

Angela just looked down and nodded. Clearly not happy.

Seeing her like this, he went close to her and said.

"Well, don't be like this I'll come from time to time." He tried making her feel better. But it didn't help much. Although she just nodded in reply. Luan knew she was not happy that he was going for so long.

"Trust me. I would have to spend over 3 years there for one month to pass here."

An idea crossed his mind.

"How about this, when I come back, I'll take you wherever you want?"

Her face brightened and she said.

"Promise?"

"Yeah!"

Satisfied with the answer she looked content and luan talked with her for a few minutes before going inside the isolated space of the scythe.

When he was inside, he suddenly felt cold chilling air which made him shutter a little.

"This is totally different than normal." He said. "Probably because of the Ice Qi."

Luan couldn't see any fog in the place only ice everywhere. The water that was present here had become ice. And frost was present on the tree.

Luan walked on the ice and sat on the island. He started breathing the way it is taught in his breathing technique.

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

He started taking all of the Ice Qi inside his body. It was lught blue in colour. Luan thought this wasn't strange as it represented the element.

In Qi realm, A person doesn't have opened meridians and they pass the Qi through their whole body to dantian and not from specific directions.

"Ark. Cold"

It felt as if his insides were turning to ice and the water inside his body was becoming solid. But Luan didn't stop and continued directing the Qi to his dantian. He recalled what was written in the Ice codex.

'Making a ball out of this is the second.'

Luan started spinning the Ice Qi inside his dantian and made a small blue coloured ball of gas out of it.

'System, keep track of how much the Element Core is completed.' He ordered.

Ding

「Understood.」

Luan fastened the process and the ice ball was starting to take a solid shape now.

The whole process was in his dantian was the ball floated in the ocean of yellow coloured World Qi.

'It should be about time.' He thought.

"I thought if something." Luan said. "If you can absorb the world Qi, you can absorb the Ice Qi as well."

"Hm?" Angela tilted her head to the side in confusion.

"I mean, of course you don't want to form an Element Core, but you can gather Ice Qi for me right? He clarified the statement.

Angela thought about this for a mere second and nodded in agreement.

"If it actually worked, the process will be a lot faster." He said.

"My theory was right. This is actually working!"

A burst of Qi came inside his body. The Ice Qi directly went inside the Core helping it form. The proces of forming the Ice Core was doubled immediately.

He did not let his excitement stop or even slow the tremendous energy from coming. He grinned with closed eyes.

"I have a lot of work to do. This will be amazing! "
