A Useless Fight

Whether it was Quirin, Gazel, Henrik, Damian, or even Elijah, none of them could react for a few moments after seeing the existence of the giant knight. Facing the illusion alone was enough to scare anyone to death. But now, in front of them, stood the real figure with a big sword that caused a dreadful vibration when it dropped to the floor of Latham Ruins.

"What the hell is this?"

"Out of the way!"

Just like before, Henrik, who had the fastest reflexes, immediately pushed his teammate aside as the giant knight swung his sword toward them. The area destroyed by the big sword strike was no joke. The strong floor was split so deeply, proving that the power possessed by the knight was extremely strong.

"Argh! Damn, you all!"

"Hey!"

Fear overcame Gazel after he saw the real figure of the illusion he feared. After forcing himself away from Henrik, who saved him, Gazel ran like a coward to hide at the end of the room. The giant knight who saw Gazel move began to chase after him. His steps shook the room, making the running Gazel feel even more frightened.

"Hii! Please help me!"

"Thunder!"

BOOM!

The giant warrior's steps stopped as Elijah struck him with lightning magic. Elijah's courage to strike first surprised and encouraged the others. They stared at Elijah, who looked confident and unleashed his lightning magic once more.

"Thunder!"

BOOM!

This time, the giant knight was ready, so he could block Elijah's magic using his sword. The giant knight's body was so large, as well as being covered by thick armor that should have been heavy. Yet, his movements remained nimble enough to keep up with them. Elijah frowned, then withdraw the sword he had just been able to use for the first time.

"Curse!"

A dense black smoke came out of Elijah's sword and struck directly at the giant knight. The black smoke temporarily distracted the giant knight. And on that occasion, Elijah used it to attack him using his sword ability.

"Body Enhancement."

With a body that had been strengthened several times, Elijah leaped so high to attack the giant knight. Elijah put all his strength into his sword. With a mithril sword that could slash through anything, Elijah hoped he could defeat the giant with his attack.

CLANG!

Unfortunately, Elijah's ability was still too low to fight something much bigger and stronger than him. The giant warrior blocked Elijah's attack with his shield, then used his sword to slash at Elijah, who was very close to him because of his attack.

"Elijah!"

Elijah was sent flying several meters away and only stopped when his body crashed into the wall of Latham Ruins. More than three-quarters of Elijah's HP was instantly drained due to the attack. Elijah felt like the world suddenly couldn't stop spinning and had trouble standing for a while.

"Your opponent is me, giant!"

Not accepting Elijah being the only one fighting for everyone's safety, Damian began to withdraw his sword and joined in attacking the giant knight with his power. The light step that was the pride of the elven race helped Damian to climb the giant knight's body with ease. Damian focused his lightning magic on the sword he had. Then when his sword was shining, Damian immediately thrust it at the giant knight.

SMASH!

"Groooo!"

The giant warrior let out a scream that was loud enough to sound terrifying. The scream alone threw Damian, who had managed to climb onto his body. The elf also fell. Yet, he quickly got up again to fight the giant knight.

"What are you doing?! Fight if you want to survive!"

When Damian saw that his teammates just stood by and watched him fight alone, the elf shouted angrily to bring them back to their senses. Damian knew there was a reason why Elijah had attacked first before. Elijah knew that they would die if they didn't fight back. Therefore, he would rather die while trying than die without doing anything.

"Beast transformation!"

"Chain!"

Fortunately, Quirin and Henrik were still willing to listen to Damian's words this time. Quirin cast chain magic that bound the giant knight's hands and feet. The Chain magic Quirin summoned had grown stronger since Elijah had last seen it. Now, even if the opponent was a giant, it was not easy for the giant knight to break free from the chains created by Quirin.

On the other hand, Henrik's body was covered in fur after he activated his beast transformation. Thanks to that, Henrik was able to leap as soon as he lived and deliver a powerful attack on the giant knight who was restricted in his movements by Quirin's Chain magic. Henrik's attack power was strong. But when fighting the giant knight, he could only give a shallow scratch that could not even hurt his real body.

CRACK!

"Back off! He's going to attack again!"

When Damian saw that the chain Quirin had created would not be able to hold the giant knight back any longer, Damian immediately warned Henrik to retreat first. Henrik retreated quickly after that. With the slightest delay in carrying out Damian's order, his body would probably be thrown away in the same way as Elijah's.

"Ugh, damn it! That armor is so thick!"

Henrik grumbled as he saw how his attack had little effect on the giant knight. The giant knight's entire body was covered in armor, so there was no way for them to hurt the knight except by destroying the armor first.

"Is there any of us who can use explosive magic powerful enough to destroy the armor?"

Damian asked, and the others could only shake their heads in frustration. Everyone's faces began to be covered with worry after that. Compared to fighting a sea of undead like before, fighting the single giant knight in front of them seemed much more dangerous to them.

"...Are we going to die here?"

One sentence from Henrik was enough to mentally break Damian, who was fighting alongside him. Damian looked at the giant knight who seemed invincible, then fell silent as he knew what Henrik said could come true if they couldn't destroy the armor that wrapped around the giant knight's body.
