Chapter 2

I woke up on the side of a hill. The surrounding terrain was mountainous and without a trace of any vegetation. It almost looked like the surface of Mars, "the red planet".

Strangely, I didn't feel as bad as I expected. I thought I would be in a more extreme aggressive state, with little ability to rationalize. I feel more... how to say, mmm. I feel hungry, but otherwise I feel normal.

Who knew an elemental could feel hunger, but that's the only way I can think of to explain the feeling.

After thinking a bit about my well-being and observing my surroundings, I decided to look for a place to hide so I could think without having to worry about being attacked by other hungry or fight-crazy elementals.

As I moved down a hill, with its sides full of rocks and loose dirt that would make walking difficult for an ordinary human, I marveled at the ease with which I could do it. If I think about it, it makes some sense since I have no legs and am just a pile of dirt and stone with a somewhat humanoid shape from the torso up, or that's how I remember them.

If I'm honest, I haven't analyzed my current body because I strangely feel uneasy and I'm not sure what the reason is. For now I will take shelter in some cave or hole with some depth and then I will proceed to check my new body.

Some time later, I managed to find a shallow cave next to a small mountain that was in front of the hill where I was born. I checked it and it was not occupied by any other elemental. When I finally stopped being outdoors I felt a little better, but the feelings of restlessness and hunger were still present.

I stopped thinking about how I felt and set about checking out the new me. My arms and hands were huge, but instead of joints I had several smaller stones that made up my fingers and my arm was a large, somewhat elongated stone, all while floating together in perfect sync... This must be how Rayman must feel with his floating hands and feet. How my body stayed together was not so foreign to me. Surely some spiritual logic, for I know that all elementals are more or less the same in appearance. What amazes me is my body's ability to be separate and still act in perfect coordination.

Momentarily ceasing to think about how wonderful and incredible the fifth element is, I looked down a little and saw that my "legs" were, just like in the game, just some rocks of various sizes. When I moved these rocks began to float in a sort of elliptical spin. To explain better, imagine an atom. My legs are the electrons circling around me, each following a different path. Well, that's how they are, only they don't float all over my body and they only float where my feet and legs would be. When I move they land on the ground, then another one does the same and then the previous one floats in an elliptical pattern before repeating the action. I have a sort of "coccyx", which is another stone, but smaller than my torso. Above and then there is my "torso" which is just a big stone. Above the "torso" floats my head, and on both sides of my "torso" are my "shoulders", I have no neck so all my "body parts" float together with some smaller stones that are also spread all over my body.

Now that I know I am a full and true earth elemental, I will search my memory for some way to use my new powers.

I did some thinking and found what I was looking for or more like what came to mind. The first piece of information was how to start trying some basic control of my mental protection powers.

I just "have to empty my mind of any kind of thoughts"... I have to meditate or something I guess. This is going to be tricky.

*I sigh* about how to control my empathic power. I have to do the exact same thing... And in order to gain control of my body I have to "have an iron will that allows me to mold myself to my liking and be aware of everything. A will that can withstand the pain of change"... I'm fucked. It sounds like a real struggle against myself.

*SIGH* Well, from what I can gather this will take time and when I say time, it will be a lot of time. Luckily for me, I'm in the literal eating of everything, so time is what I have to spare, at least before I have to face the most absurdly powerful, planning, and stupid evils in this entire universe. And I just wanted to be effortlessly OP like typical Isekai stories....

After a while and I say TIME because it took me a lot of effort to meditate to try to empty my mind, I accomplished something and that was to realize that elementals don't sit. So now I know that I will always be "standing".

Well, since this isn't going anywhere, I guess I'll try to scout around my new home and see if there are any other elementals nearby.

I set off to explore my surroundings and after a while I heard some explosions in the distance. How my senses work is beyond me, but they work and that's what matters.

Slowly approaching the place I caught a glimpse of two contours fighting. One was bright and the other looked dark, one slightly larger than the other. As I got closer I could see that they were a fire elemental and an earth elemental. They were fighting fist to fist and from what I could see, the earth elemental was full of black dots, most likely burns and some small flames were still burning on some stones on its body. The fire elemental on the other hand, was a little off and was slowly retreating, but it wasn't working very well because the earth elemental was tanking all the blows that the fire elemental was throwing at it.

Seeing how they fight, it makes sense to call the earth elemental the ultimate tank. Good stamina, armor and impact damage. Although the fire elemental is no slouch with its superior damage per second that becomes more evident after being attacked, as it seems that touching it causes fire damage. They were almost tied and the way things are going it will take a while for a winner to be selected.

Watching all this my hunger increased on another level. If before my hunger felt like someone who hasn't had breakfast, now I feel as if I haven't eaten all day. The restlessness I felt also increased, but all this is not so important to me. I can keep myself in control if it's just this, but it will most likely continue to increase if I don't find a way to satisfy it.

I guess there's no such thing as coincidence. My hunger increased when I saw the two of them fighting and I guess I'll have to feed on elementals after I kill them.

Mmmm, I remember reading somewhere that the elementals fed on the others they defeated, and consumed something I can't remember what it was called.

After some time thinking I remembered that I once read in the wiki that Ragnaros had defeated an Air Prince, but I don't remember his name... Well, the point is that with his remains he made a necklace or something like that. But I have a problem, elementals don't keep their form when they die and they seem to explode, or well, in the case of the fire elemental it should go out... I hope elementals drop things like in the game.

I waited patiently for them to get close to finishing the fight and decided that, if I was going to join a fight where the only one who didn't know how to fight was me, I might as well do it by making sure I won by attacking by surprise. I sneaked around to attack from behind, as best as a large chunk of floating stone could, and when the fire elemental decided to retreat completely, I appeared behind a stone larger than me and stopped it before it escaped.

The fire elemental that stopped as soon as it realized I was cutting it off. I thought for a moment whether it was going to attack me or turn back, but it decided to attack me. I wasn't expecting a fireball towards my face, so I had to raise my arms and cover my head. I didn't know if my head was a weak point, but if I have one it must be for something... It can't be just decoration, can it?

As soon as I took cover, the fire elemental tried to pass me, from the side. At that moment I felt an incredible rage, so in an attempt to avoid that and almost as an impulse I moved trying to grab it. Two things happened when I did it. First, my hand burned, and second, the elemental stopped momentarily, which gave me some chance to get in front of it as best I could and try to hit it in the head with my other arm. The fire elemental only moved to the side and avoided my blow completely, and also took advantage of it and attacked me with his fist on the arm that was holding it.

I let go as I felt an even greater burning in my hand and arm. I didn't stop to see the damage to my arm and just tried to hit him again without aiming where my fist would land.

It worked, because I managed to hit his shoulder and the elemental ended up moving back a little, but before I could continue hitting him a blow came from the back of the fire elemental that pushed him towards me. I tried to hold it as I grabbed it, which only made my hands burn again, but it stopped the elemental. This time I held him by his arms, but I had no way to hit him and he was still hurting my hands, which were starting to burn a little from the direct contact I had with him.

While I was still somewhat stunned by what was happening, the other earth elemental finished off the now immobile fire elemental by slamming a fist into its head like a hammer and causing it to convulse. Before it exploded or anything like that, seeing its body vibrate, I released it just in time to see the elemental make a sort of self-implosion and then vanish into the ground, where a few stones that looked like red-hot fathoms remained.

When I saw this I got a little excited, it's the long awaited Drop! Unbelievable!

While I was engrossed in my thoughts, I didn't notice how the other elemental was now punching me in the chest. It made me very angry, I didn't understand why it happened and I can only guess that it wanted the drop. The amazing thing is that this blow didn't push me much, I only moved slightly, but it woke me up. Seeing, who I thought for a moment was my ally preparing to hit me again, made me even angrier.

This time I responded by hitting him as well. I hit him on his torso, where some burns were noticeable, and after that hit, came his. He hit me in the shoulder because I moved slightly to the side to try to evade his fist. I decided to move away a little to avoid being hit again and try to gain some space. As I understood from all the fighting and cultivation stories I've read in my previous life, there is a space to attack. You have to measure it to attack your enemy at the right time and then move out of that space, evading his possible attack.

I had problems with that strategy. First, I'm the slowest elemental type. Second, I'm not a combat expert to really know how to apply that kind of knowledge to a body as slow as the one I have... With those 2 points in mind, I stopped trying and sent everything to the #$%&$. I decided to do the best I could and make him hit my shoulders in turn so I wouldn't get destroyed on one side only.

After exchanging blow for blow for a moment, I managed to shatter his chest. Having his chest shattered the earth elemental began to convulse, make erratic movements and then for some reason he raised his arms, a kind of implosion occurred and then all the stones that made up his body fell to the ground. Like the fire elemental, I could feel that some of those stones were my food.
