Snow

Several years later,

Just as Xu Yue was playing with the little two-tailed fox in her arms, she suddenly felt a comfortable feeling wash over her.

"Stop the ship, I want to take a look outside," said Xu Yue as her voice resounded into Ming Yun's ears, and after a few moments, Xu Yue appeared on the deck of the flying ship.

Looking at the lush green forest just behind them, and then at the pure white landscape, Xu Yue couldn't help but feel like she was home once again.

As she felt the cold snowflakes go around her, a smile appeared on Xu Yue's face.

"This place is really nice," mumbled Xu Yue as she extended her left arm towards the distance as she felt as if the entire region was welcoming her home.

"Let's go on foot for now, I haven't enjoyed myself for a long time," said Xu Yue as she and Ming Yun appeared on a snowy path.

Looking at her senior sister, who appeared much happier right now, a smile appeared on Ming Yun's face.

"This place really is nice," thought Ming Yun as even the extremely bad weather seemed insignificant compared to the fact that her senior sister seemed to enjoy this.

Merely a moment after Xu Yue stepped foot in the snow, she finally stopped restraining herself.

Even though this was not particularly targeted at herself, nor was it that cold, Ming Yun felt a chill in her heart as soon as she felt her senior sister's cold aura.

Just as Xu Yue was about to begin traveling to the center of the region, a small village suddenly appeared at the edge of her senses.

Causing an extremely surprised expression to appear on her face.

Suddenly, Xu Yue appeared above the village, and now that she was closer than before, an extremely clear aura of death shrouded over the village.

Over two thousand skeletons littered the seemingly intact village as if they had been killed thousands of years ago.

But that was not what bothered Xu Yue, as she had already gotten used to death long ago.

"Found you," mumbled Xu Yue before appearing underground, in what looked to be a temple.

"Disgusting," thought Xu Yue as she looked at the over a hundred cultists around her who were all worshiping a strange fleshy statue.

Before any of the cultists could respond to the attack, their heads started exploding as a rain of blood appeared inside of the temple.

Even the most powerful of them, the cult leader, had no resistance in front of Xu Yue, who then read his memories.

"Really vile," mumbled Xu Yue as she silently praised herself for not bringing the little fox here, as to not show this scene, at the same time, she couldn't help but wonder what the origin of this Devouring Type cultivation technique was, causing her to close her eyes.

Looking through the history of this technique, Xu Yue could not feel bad for the death of any of it's users, especially it's creator, even though he suffered a cruel death.

Suddenly, and at the same time, every single user of this devouring type technique began encountering misfortunes, large and small.

But no matter how small the misfortune seemed at first, they all lead to one single thing, Death.

In merely a few minutes, the over twenty thousand users of this technique, who were scattered in the Snow Region and the surrounding few regions, all died, with the strongest of them being a True Awakening cultivator.

"Pretending to be heroic sometimes also feels good," mumbled Xu Yue before returning to her previous self, but even so, she still destroyed the temple, including the fleshy statue at it's center.

Unbeknownst to Xu Yue, just as she left, the eyes of the fleshy statue slightly moved in her direction, but even so, it was then buried deep underground, destroyed by the falling rocks.

...

"Senior sister, did something happen?" asked Ming Yun, as she and the little two-tailed fox stared at her, with the latter then jumping on her shoulder.

"Nothing major, I just saw something disgusting that I felt needed fixing, let's go," said Xu Yue as the little two-tailed fox stared at her with it's cute eyes.

"I understand senior sister," said Ming Yun as she and Xu Yue began slowly walking.

As if seeing the two of them relaxing, in an uncharacteristically not lazy move, the little fox got up on Xu Yue's shoulder and jumped down, to walk on it's own.

Ming Yun couldn't help but begin laughing hysterically as she looked at the two fluffy tails sticking out of the thick snow, even Xu Yue let out a small laugh. much more than the light chuckle she let's out on normal days.

Even several minutes later, when the fox was back on Xu Yue's shoulder, Ming Yun was still laughing, and for some reason, she just couldn't stop.

As if it had enough, the little two-tailed fox, which had gained a second tail from all of the spiritual treasures fed to it by Xu Yue suddenly jumped on Ming Yun and began scratching at her with it's little claws.

Although normally she would have been mad at this, seeing the fox try but fail to even leave a mark on her skin, Ming Yun let out a burst of even more hysterical laughter.

"You really are smart," mumbled Ming Yun as she picked the angry little fox in her arms, her laughter seemingly having made it even madder.

"Even though it can't scratch you, you shouldn't bully it so much, you a dignified True Awakening cultivator bullying a little fox," said Xu Yue as she looked at the cultivator and fox with a smile on her face.

"They really get along well," thought Xu Yue as she became somewhat happy seeing the antics of the two.

After managing to separate the two of them, Xu Yue and her group could finally continue their journey
