Mother

As she felt the fingers of her grandmother scratching her behind the ear, Xu Chang'er, who had been slightly cocky up until now, couldn't help but suddenly freeze.

'Too powerful...'

Even though Xu Chang'er wanted to struggle, in front of the fingers of a True Immortal, one which had ample experience in scratching foxes behind the ear thanks to her Dao Companion, Xu Chang'er was nearly helpless.

No matter how Xu Chang'er moved her ears, as well as her entire head, the fingers of her grandmother seemed to always find the best spots to scratch, causing her to finally give up resistance.

Looking at Xu Chang'er, who on one hand, seemed to hate what her grandmother was doing, but whose tail was currently rapidly shifting about, clearly excited, Xu Yanmei felt a chill in her heart.

As she looked at the proficiency with which her mother scratched Xu Chang'er, Xu Yanmei, who had never been punished by her like this, couldn't help but silently thank her mother for her mercy, as she truly did not know whether she could resist if her mother did this to her.

Merely a few minutes later, the little fox-girl could be seen obediently standing next to her mother and grandmother, showing no dissatisfaction on her face, causing Xu Yanmei to suddenly take action, and begin questioning her daughter whilst Xu Yue merely stood there and watched with a smile on her face.

"Chang'er why did yo-"

"Chang'er when di-"

"Chang'er wh-"

"Cha-"

Looking at the little fox-girl, who was currently being bombarded by questions by her mother, Xu Yue, almost felt some pity for her granddaughter.

Sadly though, Xu Yue's Dao Heart was not easily shaken, as such, she did not interfere in her daughter's actions, and merely listened to the answers her granddaughter gave.

A few moments later, Xu Yue silently gave her daughter a thumbs-up.

"Mother, I planned to come back after becoming a True Immortal, around 4 to 5 million years in the future," said Xu Chang'er with her tail lowered between her legs, causing Xu Yanmei to suddenly freeze.

'As expected of my granddaughter, she has a bit of my arrogance,' thought Xu Yue whilst silently giving the little fox a thumbs up for her ambition, which she was quite impressed by.

Surprisingly though, it actually took around 5 seconds for Xu Yanmei to recover after hearing the answer to her question, after which she took a closer look at her daughter.

At that moment, Xu Yanmei suddenly fell deep into thought as she began gritting her teeth, before suddenly grabbing her daughter and picking her up.

Then, under the surprised eyes of Xu Yue, as well as Xu Chang'er, who had just been picked up, Xu Yanmei suddenly placed Xu Chang'er back into her seclusion hole, causing the little girl to transform back into her fox form.

After that, a spatial ring actually appeared in Xu Yanmei's hand, which the mother then threw down to her daughter before beginning to fill up the hole.

In just a few moments, without neither her nor Xu Chang'er saying anything, the surrounding environments returned to its past state, making it seem as though Xu Yue and Xu Yanmei had never been there.

A few moments later, Xu Chang'er once again died, causing her formations and treasures to activate once again, concealing her.

"As expected, as soon as Chang'er told you her ambition you could never resist allowing her to continue," said Xu Yue as she stared at her daughter with a smile on her face.

"Could you, mother? If one of your children had both the ambition, and the talent to achieve something that impressive, would you really stop them just to spend some more time with them?" asked Xu Yanmei as she faintly smiled upon noticing the fact that the cautious Chang'er had already disappeared, seemingly no longer considering this location as safe.

A few moments later, after just a bit of thought, Xu Yue shook her head, causing Xu Yanmei to faintly smile, causing fox ears to suddenly grow on her head, alongside nine luscious tails behind her back.

Looking at Xu Yanmei, who was smiling right at her, Xu Yue stretched out her hand and began scratching her daughter behind the ear, causing Yanmei to let out faint sighs as she moved her head against her mother's fingers.

As she looked at the large fox, who was currently sleeping peacefully knowing that all of her daughters were safe, Xu Yue couldn't help but faintly smile.

"It looks like you're not as bad of a mother as me..." mumbled Xu Yue in an extremely quiet tone, so quiet that Xu Yanmei herself couldn't hear it.

A few moments later, after taking another look at her daughter and lightly smirking, Xu Yue finally stepped into a portal and disappeared, leaving Xu Yanmei alone.

"You're not that bad of a mother..." mumbled Xu Yanmei as she faintly opened her eyes and stared at the empty space in front of her.

Hearing that, Xu Yue, who had been standing behind Xu Yanmei this whole time couldn't help but faintly smile.

"Don't worry, I know I'm not," said Xu Yue with a smile on her face, causing Xu Yanmei to suddenly freeze.

Although Fourteen was currently teasing her shy daughter instead of cultivating, Thirteen, who was within the Library of Heaven, couldn't help but faintly smile.

"You're really not as bad of a mother as most of us..." mumbled Thirteen as she shook her head.

If Fourteen, who had just become a True Immortal not too long ago, was here to hear this, she would probably spit out a mouthful of blood and wonder just how bad were her other selves at being mothers.

In fact, all Thirteen would need to do to answer that question was to show Fourteen Third's relationships with her daughters.

Thirteen was extremely confident that as long as Fourteen saw those scenes, she would immediately agree with her words.
