Formations

As Xu Yue passed over the mountain region, she regularly sensed formation masters below her, as their formations, no matter how hidden, were extremely obvious to her.

One thing that was different about these formation masters than others that she discovered in other regions, was the fact that they used formation flags much less, rather preferring to use the surroundings to activate their formations.

It was not that formation flags were rarer here, rather the opposite, formation masters had no interest in them.

Suddenly, Xu Yue controlled her flying to ship to avoid going above a portion of mountains.

"That's really a lot," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the hundreds of thousands, no, millions of formations that enveloped several thousand mountains, in their mist, Xu Yue even detected several rank 9 formations, created by Dao Saint realm formation masters.

As such, Xu Yue would rather avoid going above them, as she did not know if she could actually manage to make it unscathed if she was fast enough, maybe she could, maybe she couldn't, but of course, Xu Yue would not take that risk.

After this small encounter, Xu Yue continued her travel, but as she got closer to the center of the region, both the number and the strength of the formations she encountered continued increasing.

And after a while, Xu Yue finally decided to lower the flying ship to the ground once she saw the giant mountain in front of her.

After this, Xu Yue alongside Ming Yun exited out of the flying ship and began walking on a small mountain path.

Suddenly, in front of an open space in the path, Xu Yue stopped.

"You should stay here," said Xu Yue as she patted Ming Yun on the shoulder before continuing to walk on the path in front of her.

"Yes senior sister," said Ming Yun as she watched Xu Yue disappear as soon as she took the next step, but unlike usual, Ming Yun could not sense Xu Yue at all.

Suddenly, Xu Yue felt slightly unnerved as she walked on the path in front of her, but before that feeling could take effect on her, Xu Yue merely snorted, completely destroying the effect of the illusion that seemed to try to take effect on her.

"If I didn't feel it take effect on myself, I wouldn't have noticed that formation, this place is very tricky," mumbled Xu Yue as she walked through a killing formation with ease, not doing the intended thing and dismantling it.

After that, no other formation tried to influence Xu Yue directly, and of course, after seeing her fighting strength in the first few formations, the ones that tried to physically harm her suddenly disappeared from her vision, having been taken away by the one who was operating it.

Just as she wanted to continue on, Xu Yue suddenly stopped, right now, she looked at her ever-so-familiar surroundings before narrowing her eyes.

"I'm at the very beginning, so an illusion formation," mumbled Xu Yue as thought for a little bit before continuing to walk forward.

After this, a loop began, Xu Yue would walk forward and reach the beginning, before walking forward again, slightly differently, after over a hundred of these loops, Xu Yue once again began walking forward.

But this time, something different happened, even though her steps seemed similar to those she took the first time, something was different about them, and after a while, Xu Yue found that she had reached a place she had not yet seen before.

"My intuition is really the end of those who use these type of formations," mumbled Xu Yue as she stepped onto the stone path in front of her, it was unknown is right now she was talking to the one controlling the formation or someone entirely else, but Xu Yue was sure the person who heard her talk appreciated it.

After this, Xu Yue looked at the empty stone circle in front of her.

"This place is where combat power should have been tested, I need to thank you for not wasting time," mumbled Xu Yue as she once again walked forwards, before encountering another empty circle.

"Since I won't be entering your sect you aren't testing my formation knowledge, good," mumbled Xu Yue as she wanted to walk forward, when suddenly she noticed something.

Looking at the side path that did not go up the mountain but rather in another direction, a smile appeared on Xu Yue's face.

"Since you guys want to tempt me so much, You can't blame me," said Xu Yue before going down the side path, expecting what place it would lead to.

Suddenly, Xu Yue felt as if something about herself was different, but when she immediately checked, everything seemed to be fine, from her body, soul and even dao, nothing seemed to be wrong.

Feeling this uncertainty, an exhilarated expression appeared on Xu Yue's face as she went down the mountain path.

"This is really something I didn't expect," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the circle in front of her, and the other path that led to it.

"I didn't expect this either," mumbled Xu Yue as she noticed that the sword that she usually held on her waist was laying outside the circle.

As she looked at the other Xu Yue in front of her, Xu Yue put her hand on her chin.

"This is really quite a problem," said Xu Yue as she looked at her other self.

"You shouldn't take my line so shamelessly," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the other with a frown on her face.

Hearing that, the other Xu Yue became silent as she stopped herself from saying the other joke.

"You are a part of me," said the other Xu Yue as she looked at Xu Yue.

"No, you are a part of me," said Xu Yue as she once again searched for something she could have missed that had formed the being opposite of her, since she knew that the one in front of her was not created by the formation.
