Destiny

Inside of the Origin Sword Sect,

Zhang Wencheng let out one final scream as Xu Ming searched his soul, Deng Huiling then appeared next to them a few moments after that.

"How was it?" asked Deng Huiling, while looking at Zhang Wencheng.

"Searching his soul was useless," said Xu Ming.

"You can take it from here, I have interfered too much with the mortal world, using the Chaos Clock to reverse time has angered the Heavenly Dao quite a bit, I need to go into seclusion for a long time," continued Xu Ming as he gave Zhang Wencheng to Deng Huiling.

False immortals are put under heavy scrutiny by the heavenly dao, as such, they can not interfere too much with the mortal world and it's inhabitants, what Xu Ming did pushed the line a little bit too much.

"Understood," said Deng Huiling as she took a look at Zhang Wencheng.

Zhang Wencheng's soul exited his body a moment later as Deng Huiling grabbed it and disappeared, leaving Xu Ming alongside a dead body.

"Young people these days," he mumbled as he destroyed the body.

After that, he disappeared from the Three Thousand Regions.

He then reappeared in what looked to be a small world, but even so, the amount of spiritual Qi present here is immense and allowed False Immortals to actually be able to cultivate, which was not possible in even in the most suitable cultivation grounds from the outside world.

The moment he appeared there, two other cultivators arrived next to him.

They were precisely the two other False Immortal Realm cultivators from the Xu Clan, Xu Yun and Xu Lanfeng.

"Senior Lanfeng," said Xu Ming as he bowed to her, despite looking quite young, Xu Lanfeng was actually the oldest of all the cultivators in the Origin Sword sect. Xu Ming had never seen her fight, but based on his intuition, he felt that she would crush him in battle.

"Ming'er," said Xu Lanfeng with a smile on her face.

No movement appeared on Xu Ming's face as he heard how she addressed him. He merely took out the Chaos Clock and gave it back to her.

"You did a good job this time," said Xu Lanfeng, she then disappeared and went back to her own cave abode .

"Junior Brother Yun," greeted Xu Ming before disappearing.

Xu Yun let out a smile and responded to Xu Ming's greeting before he also disappeared.

A while later,

Xu Yue yawned as she slowly opened her eyes. Halfway through, she remembered what had just happened and checked her body. She breathed a sigh of relief as she was almost unharmed.

Xu Hui appeared next to her a moment later.

Xu Yue breathed a sigh of relief as she looked at her grandfather. She felt like that attack was so powerful that even he would be in danger.

"What happened to Ming Yun?" asked Xu Yue, over the past few weeks, the two of them had become much closer.

"She is fine. She went back to her own cave abode a few hours ago," said Xu Hui.

Xu Yue breathed a sigh of relief as she thought about her cute little junior sister. She then thought about something Ming Yun had proposed.

"I should do that," thought Xu Yue for a moment.

After a few minutes,

Xu Hui smiled as he received information from senior Deng Huiling. Out of all of the ancestors, he was most familiar with her and with his father, Xu Ming.

"So he wasn't sure if you would participate in the tournament," mumbled Xu Hui as he digested the information sent by Deng Huiling.

"What?" asked Xu Yue, a shocked expression appearing on her face.

"They weren't sure you would participate in the tournament," repeated Xu Hui.

A deep frown appeared on Xu Yue's face as she heard this.

"If I refused to go, you would have let me not?" asked Xu Yue, the frown on her face deepening.

"Yes," responded Xu Hui, unsure of what Xu Yue was talking about.

Xu Yue's frown deepened as she remembered what her intuition had told her before the tournament.

"There will be danger," mumbled Xu Yue. That is what she felt her intuition told her, that is what she told her master, and what unintentionally brought Xu Ming to save her, as her master reported it to him.

"Will I always have gone to the tournament?" asked herself Xu Yue.

"No," thought Xu Yue as she viewed several possibilities.

If it wasn't certain that she would go there, then why would her intuition be so certain?

"Is it destiny? Was I destined to go to the tournament?" asked Xu Yue.

"Do I even have free will?" mumbled Xu Yue under her breath, and as she did so, a peculiar aura appeared around her.

Feeling the aura of two different Daos around his grandaughter, Xu Hui created a formation around her, so as to not be distracted by anything.

As she was under her enlightenment, Xu Yue looked at the sky. She seemed to see a flowing river, the water from upstream.

As she gazed downstream, Xu Yue felt her head hurt. She quickly diverted her eyes and looked upstream.

As she looked upstream, Xu Yue saw many different pasts. Even a small decision would lead to a completely different outcome.

But as the time of the tournament approached, Xu Yue frowned as every single one of the countless versions of herself went to the tournament, no matter her circumstances.

Her frown lessened as the tournament went completely different for all the Xu Yue's, but as time passed, the frown transformed into a something else

At a certain point in time, things began working out the same way, meeting with Gao Ying and then the attack.

Xu Yue felt a pain in her forehead as she watched the attack. She watched as every single Xu Yue survived it, no matter the circumstances. Even when Xu Ming was not there to save her, something would happen to make her survive.

"Is this destiny?" asked herself Xu Yue as she gazed at the endless river in front of her

After she survived the attack, it seemed as if destiny had diverged into countless possibilities once again.

"I have free will,i have free will,i have free will, have free will,i have free will," mumbled Xu Yue as an irational look appeared on her face.

After a few minutes of this, Xu Yue then lost consciousness.
