"Old man, why are you courting death, as long as you are willing to leave the key behind we can let you leave?" said Yu Chen as he, alongside a group of seven cultivators, chased after an old man with a long white beard.

Sadly, though, the old man at the Major Transcendence Realm did not respond to the words of the Patriarch of the Yu Clan, and continued flying on his way.

Seeing this, both Yu Chen and the other clan leaders patriarchs that he was allied with knew that this was old man was determined to go after the treasure, causing them to suddenly speed up, hoping to catch up with the old man as soon as possible.

If by chance, this chase attracted the attention of some old Dao Saint secluded somewhere, Yu Chen, as well as the rest of the group, would feel extremely aggrieved.

But as they sped up, to Yu Chen's surprise, the old man also sped up significantly, nearly twenty percent, causing him to actually begin getting further and further away from the group, as his speed exited the realm of normal Major Transcendence Cultivators.

Even so, the group still continued chasing after the old man, using everything in their arsenal to try to catch up to him, knowing that such an increase in speed was not without consequences, and could not last for long.

As he stared at the group of shameless bastards that were chasing behind him, Dai Jie almost spat out a mouthful of blood from sheer anger, causing him to suddenly launch a few spells towards them, whilst still keeping up his speed.

Sadly though, although his Dao of Time allowed him to extend his lifespan far beyond that of a normal Minor Transcendence Cultivator, this did not mean that his power was enhanced that much.

Furthermore, Dai Jie did not have any powerful offensive Time Spells, which meant that his Minor Transcendence Realm spells could not do much against the group of people chasing him.

But even though the group had taken him by surprise by betraying him, this did not mean that Dai Jie was helpless, not at all.

In fact, after surviving countless dangers and perils throughout his life, Dai Jie was always prepared for such things.

As such, after being chased by the group for a few months, old man Dai Jie, who seemed to have finally become exhausted, suddenly disappeared, causing every single person chasing him to freeze in place, bewildered.

Only a few moments after that, the group of middle-aged and old men began spreading out and searching for their target.

Sadly though, no matter how much the group searched, they could only curse that shameless old man who had scammed them, and could find no trace of him, no matter how hard they searched.

Looking at the door in front of him, as well as at the key in his hands, a faint smile appeared on Dai Jie's face.

"Those shameless fools could have never expected that I can use this key to return to this place..." mumbled Dai Jie as he touched his white beard with his free hand.

A moment later, Dai Jie sent his qi into the key, causing it to quickly and efficiently go into the door.

As soon as the key entered the door, Dai Jie suddenly felt an overwhelming force begin tugging at him.

At first, the careful old man tried to resist, but in the end, he realized that such attempts were futile and allowed the extremely powerful force to pull himself in.

In what seemed like a moment, Dai Jie disappeared from the Three Thousand Regions and reappeared inside a small world, which caused him to feel a certain amount of doubt.

Although Dai Jie was at the Minor Transcendence Realm, his Dao of Time allowed his spiritual sense to completely search this entire small world.

In the end, though, Dai Jie did not find this small world very impressive at all.

In fact, it was quite bland and ordinary, and not worthy of being the inheritance ground of a False Immortal in the slightest.

"Someone must have already obtained the inheritance..." mumbled Dai Jie as he touched his beard, oblivious to the fox that had obtained the inheritance and was hiding itself within the small world.

Of course, it might have been Dai Jie's good luck that caused him to not discover the fox, as if he did, the latter might have attempted to silence him.

'This is quite a good place to break through to the Major Transcendence Realm,' thought Dai Jie as he sat down cross-legged in the center of the small world, unaware of the tiny fox that had just been awoken and was staring at him at the moment.

Mere moments after Dai Jie sat down cross-legged, his gentle and refined aura suddenly disappeared, having been completely swallowed up by his fighting spirit.

This change was not a superficial one in the slightest, as the moment Dai Jie let his Dao of Battle go wild, he began feeling a desire to go and find those cultivators that had betrayed him and fight them to the death.

Although Dai Jie was aware of the fact he could not beat the group in his current state, his subconscious mind did not care about details as small as that.

In fact, subconsciously, Dai Jie felt as though a battle where he had a large chance of dying was even more exciting than usual.

With his experience, Dai Jie soon curbed those thoughts of his and returned to normal, at least relatively, causing him to place down his spear.

Soon after that, numerous tribulation clouds began gathering above old man Dai Jie, causing him to involuntary smile.

As she stared at the insane old man that was currently undergoing his tribulation, Xu Chang'er couldn't help but silently curse.

'What were the chances that an insane person like him came to this very particular small world?!' thought Xu Chang'er, unaware of the inheritance ground that had formerly existed here.
