16 Chapter 16

Slowly, Raizel entered the container where Michael was kept in stasis chambers, cryogenically frozen. Raizel could no longer keep his cool and coughed up blood. Although he had sensed something was wrong with his body since he transmigrated, he hadn't expected it to be this severe. Now Raizel was certain that his speculations about the alternative Noblesse world weren't much different from the original counterparts. The only difference he could think of was that Raizel had woken up earlier compared to the timeline, which is why he ended up in Forks alongside Frankenstein. Frankenstein seemed to be hiding a lot from him, just as Raizel was hiding things from Frankenstein.

As Raizel approached the stasis chamber, he thought to himself, "Looks like I really got involved with the Union this time. The noble Frankenstein mentioned must be traitors, I suppose." The reason Frankenstein hadn't mentioned the traitor behind Antigen might be because he was worried about his master getting involved with them again. Perhaps he was trying his best to let Raizel experience an ordinary life since he believed Raizel's memories were sealed away. Raizel couldn't help but smile at Frankenstein's devotion, even though it was sometimes overwhelming to consider.

Raizel glared at Michael, who was in a frozen state. For some reason, Raizel didn't want to help him, but his will didn't seem to agree with him. With a sigh, Raizel used his power, his eyes glowing red as the stasis chamber burst open, rendering it dysfunctional. It wouldn't be long before Michael woke up, so Raizel decided to walk towards another chamber where Selene was kept.

To his satisfaction, what awaited him didn't disappoint. Even in her frozen state, Selene exuded a captivating cold beauty.

Looking at her would make any man jealous of Michael, more importantly, she wasn't merely an actress playing a character but herself, which made her even more tempting. Now, Raizel felt he had one more reason to get rid of Michael later, though he let go of such thoughts for the moment.

Raizel walked closer to Selene, appreciating his favorite vampire from the supernatural franchise. Then, his eyes glowed again as the stasis chamber burst open, rendering it dysfunctional. Raizel stepped to the side, waiting for her to wake up. It didn't take long before he saw her opening her eyes. She exerted her strength to break free from the ice and fell to the side of Raizel. She hadn't expected anyone else to be here, seeing Raizel waiting for her in the corner.

Then came Michael, grabbing the attention of both. Raizel looked towards Michael and said, "That was quick." Michael, in his hybrid form, looked at Raizel with instinctual fear.

Raizel glanced at Selene, who was gaining movement by the second but was naked. He snapped his fingers, conjuring pants for Michael out of thin air, and for Selene, her iconic dress, stunning both of them. They glanced around at their transformed attire, unable to believe what they had just witnessed, before turning their gaze to Raizel.

Before Selene could ask, "Who are you?" Michael felt a probing headache, causing him to lose his hybrid form. Selene, struggling, walked to his side out of concern.

Raizel waited for them to compose themselves, sealing away Michael's power just in case they attempted to flee, knowing Michael could become a hindrance without his supernatural abilities.

Soon, Michael's headache faded, but he noticed he had lost his powers. He looked at his hands in disbelief, then glanced at Selene with worry. Raizel walked towards their direction, prompting them to rise from their worries. Standing in front of them at a respectful distance, Raizel said, "Since both of you are awake, how about I give you a choice?"

Selene stood in front of Michael, sensing something amiss with him. Then Raizel continued, "Serve me... or die." A strong pressure descended, forcing Selene and Michael to their knees. Despite Selene's attempts to resist, she soon found herself kneeling, while Michael, whose powers had been sealed away, could not even resist, already lying on the ground.

Raizel could sense that his choice of words and his attempt to force them wasn't convincing, especially to a vampire death dealer like Selene. So he decided to articulate his reasoning.

"I believe you are aware of how much trouble your Corvinus strain has caused," Raizel began. "Until now, I believe the Union isn't aware of the existence of the Corvinus strain, since the death of Alexander Corvinus and his son. However, I suspect they may have somehow managed to obtain their bodies. Still, living lab rats are special."

Approaching Selene, he continued, "I believe you understand what I'm saying." Then, glancing at Michael, he added, "Well, both of you have been lab rats for the last twelve years," stunning them both as they couldn't believe they had been in such a state for so long.

"I don't want you both to create more trouble for me," Raizel explained. "So I would rather kill you." Selene and Michael exchanged a glance, understanding what awaited them next. Observing their interaction, Raizel sighed and spoke softly, "But I'm giving you a chance. Perhaps you both could live a normal life while serving me. You should be grateful I'm not willing to end you both."

Selene seemed lost in thought upon hearing Raizel's words. Eventually, Raizel released the pressure on them and walked past them outside.
