Chapter 4: First Spirit Contracted!

Sia led Atreus to a wide and large Palace on one corner of the Sect Premises, it was built on a large man-made Mountain Peak, this was her own abode.

Soon they came into another Hall which was crimson pink in theme and with a Black Throne at the head, the Elder sat on the throne and looked down at Atreus.

"As Karlos earlier said. The Sect gives basic materials to the Disciples with some privileges ,for instance usually Outer Sect Disciples can only attend public lectures for guidance, whilst Inner Disciples receive exclusive lectures from Inner Circle Elders, while Core Disciples are given one on one mentoring by us.

You should consider yourself lucky since Heaven Tier Talents only appear once in several decades and each Sect considers them a valuable resource. So naturally your starting point will be a little better."

Saying that Sia waved her hand and threw Atreus a glowing Pink Ring, it was a Space Ring and contained a Blood Red Suit with a purple dragon engraved on it, the uniform of a Core Disciple. There was also an identity badge : a demonic face with Core Written on it.

"You can go to the treasury and choose any lower Tier 1 Spirit you want. You may not know it but let me tell you –"

She went on to describe the information he already knew. He could choose any lower Tier 1 Spirit, which was a privilege that only he had, even the Earth Tier Talents were only given limited choices whilst the others got the Trademark Sect Spirit called "The Blood Doll", Atreus knew about this Spirit it was a blood type spirit that could drain the blood of enemies, cast dangerous blood curses and attack using the same. It was easy to take care of and in his memory he had a recipe for it that went up to Rank 4: "Killer Homunculus". He wasn't sure if the Sect had the same one though.

"You will also get 1000 Mana Stones every week, the salary a Core Disciples gets." Sia gave him a little envious look even though this paltry sum wasn't worth her attention.

Atreus sighed, "This where Talent comes in. In my past life I could barely scrape together 100 mana stones in two or three months. Heck! The salary of Inner Circle Elders is only the same as me."

Mana Stones were everything whether it be buying materials to raise Spirits, buying items, trading or even raising your own rank with mana stones, everything happened via their use.

"Well got to make full use of the situation." Atreus bowed to Elder Sia and started to leave.

"And before you go. For a few days I and the other Core Elders will be away, you can for the time being seek guidance with the others. You may ask me any questions once I come back."

"Thank You Elder." Atreus then calmly walked away.

"Of course, she wouldn't directly guide me!"

Atreus was very clear, the best method to raise a Summoner wasn't to hand hold them but allow them to learn by themselves only correcting their path when necessary.

He went out of the peak and changed to his Core Disciple Uniform. But just as he started to move, a light Flashed as a Young Woman wearing a blood red dress appeared in his view, she was also a Core Disciple but apparently the real deal unlike him.

She was about 18 years old, shining black hair and lavender eyes, a curvy figure and a cute face. She was a little surprised to see him. At first, she thought somebody had dared to trespass on Masters domain, but seeing his uniform she was even more surprised.

"I know all the Core Disciples? Who the hell is this?"

She cautiously approached Atreus who was just about to walk past her.

"Hello! I am Ifris, and you are?"

Atreus turned towards her and sighed in his heart, he introduced himself to her and told about how he ended up being assigned to Elder Sia.

She was surprised at hearing that this guy had a Heaven Tier Space but quickly came over it.

"Ah! So, you are a junior…..."

Before she could continue pestering him a light rang on her ring, similar to his, and she ignored him running into the Mansion of the Elder.

Soon enough after the little fiasco. He reached the Treasure building, it was located in the Inner Circle of the Sect, as he walked as many disciples saw his Core Uniform and badge stuck to his chest, seeing that they quickly bowed to him whenever they saw him.

"This is the power of Status. Quite convenient huh?"

Atreus knew what they respected wasn't him but rather the Sect, which granted him this identity. And using this method Sect ensured that this taste of power would ensure his loyalty to them.

"He! He! I scratch your back and you scratch mine, as long as I get to have fun, I don't mind being part of the System, its actually easier this way."

Soon he arrived to the front reception of desk. And a white robed Elder was meditating in front. Atreus knew that he shouldn't underestimate this man because he was guarding the treasury.

He gave a bow and stood patiently for the Elder to open his eyes.

After five minutes,

The Elder opened his eyes and gazed at Atreus, he nodded and smiled. "Even though we are of the Demonic Path we still have to follow certain ideals. Young Man you didn't let your newfound identity get to your head, keep moving like this and you will go far in your journey."

He threw Atreus a pouch containing Mana Stones along with a Red Slip etched with 1 on it.

"The 1st floor of the Spirit Section is open to you. Only the lower ranked ones though; Be wise in your selection. You have 20 Minutes."

Then the Elder imparted to him how to contract his Spirit. Atreus on the other handed already knew about it.

To contract a Spirit, one needed to inject his mana into it and then it will be automatically placed in his Mana Space, of course the fiercer the Spirit the more mana one must push and different Spirits may also influence the Summoner differently mostly in the form of emotions, desires or pain, failing forming a contract resulted in severe backlash and injuries. In worst cases it even meant death.

Ignoring that, Atreus quickly caught on to something and said "May I ask for the Elder's Guidance?"

The Elder laughed, "Since you are so polite, I will tell you. There are two spirits that you can choose from..."

The Elder gave him some coordinates.

He mainly asked that because even with his Vast Knowledge he didn't know each and every Spirit, he wasn't some Omniscient Spirit after all.

Inside the first floor were beautiful transparent Glass enclosures each with a different Spirit. On the bottom was some basic information along with how many Spirits of that type the Sect Possessed.

Going inside he quickly started to go through all the Spirits.

After 15 minutes.

"I know most of the Spirits but in the end, I have shortlisted only these Spirits." He had to consider two things mainly: how far could he take the spirit and how much it would cost to feed it.

This was the reason he asked the Elder for advice, because feeding despite his Core Disciple Salary could be hard if he didn't know the Spirit.

Yes, Spirits needed feeding with mana materials, most Summoners didn't realize it and choose rare spirits eventually causing their deaths over a period of time.

The First one was fairly common spirit that the Sect had lots of,

"Pale Tree Soldier" it was an animated Tree Spirit, that had grey colored hue on it, it was good in defense and sustenance. He could raise it to the Rank 5 "Corpse Altar".

Next was a really rare spirit, a recommendation of the Elder, the Sect had only 10 of these. "Fire Imp", a fire type demonic Spirit, shaped like a small red creature with a spiky tail, horns and a fire trident. Atreus searched his memories and didn't find a lot of information about it, he had memories about the Abyssal Imp but it was a higher ranked Spirit.

Last was a one of a kind Spirt in the Treasury.

"Crazed Devilman", Atreus was surprised to find it here, it was a exceedingly rare Spirit. It was the Size of a human, shaped like a blackish stitched doll with no face, it had bandages here and there on the body, with sharp claw like hands.

"I have multiple recipes for this one!" So because of this reason Atreus choose the spirit and started to form a contract with it. Soon a white circle appeared below him and the spirit as slowly mana started to flow beneath both of them.

Bang! Suddenly a wave of craziness assaulted Atreus, but who was he?

A Rank 7 in his past life!

Thus he easily ignored the pressure with his mental strength and formed a contract, soon enough the Spirit disappeared into his mana Space.

Whoosh!

He felt strength and vigor filling his body as all of his senses got enhanced. His mana space fully opened as he started absorbing mana from the environment.

"Finally! Rank 1 Spirit Summoner" Atreus eyes shined with pure excitement.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
