49 Chapter 49: Day of Opening

(A/N: Hope you're ready to meet a ton of new characters!)

Deep in the wilderness, inside a massive clearing stood an ancient, blocky yet pyramid-like structure. The moss and cracks on the stone showed its age, but it was still a majestic structure.

The structure rumbled for a bit before the tip of the pyramid began to glow. It became brighter and brighter, shooting up into the sky. The beacon had been set.

Arturnus' Tomb was about to open.

Far, far away from the tomb, a boy was in a forest, seated on top of a tower of dead mana beasts. The boy, with his black eyes, black hair, and a scar across his nose, had his attention stolen by a massive light shooting into the sky before staying there.

Van Brown grinned. He hopped off the pile of dead beasts, his landing cracking the earth beneath. He was much, much stronger than he was 3 months ago.

"Looks like it's time."

Van got into a runner's position, aiming for the beacon.

"Show me the speed…" Van whispered, mana beginning to build up in his legs. "Of my 2nd Boon!"

He zoomed forward, destroying the ground he left along with obliterating the tower of mana beast corpses from the sheer force of his acceleration.

He was miles and miles away, but Van estimated he would arrive at the tomb at no longer than a day. It was just between the kingdom of Holdor and the kingdom of the Elves, after all.

******

At the tomb, many groups had already gathered, making camp.

There was the Holy Order of Knights, the official representative of the humans. Their group consisted of 5 Grand Knights, one of them with his helmet off, revealing neat brown hair and a chiseled face, with a long scar in place of his left eye. He was named Harrison, and was obviously the one in charge.

Some distance from the knights a young man leaned against a tree. He wore normal clothes underneath a simple cloak, and had short brown hair with a streak of green. He looked like an average guy, but his presence at the tomb said otherwise. He pulled out a slip of paper with the name "Simon" on it, mouthing it out a few times.

After Simon came a trio of heavily armored people, two men and a woman. They were middle-aged, but looked experienced. They were the representatives of the Mercenaries' Guild, who of course wanted a chance at some treasure in the tomb.

The man in the middle had gray hair and a thick beard, he was the #1 mercenary that wielded a battle axe. His name was Iron. The woman next to him had red hair, and she was #2, named Ruby. The last man had dark hair, and was the #3, named Zion.

After the mercenaries were the largest group present. There were 12 of them, all wearing black robes. 10 were Grand Knights while the last two were High Mages. The High Mages were obviously the leaders signified by their revealed faces. The other groups didn't take kindly to their presence as they were from a well-known criminal organization.

The first High Mage was a bald man whose face was covered in ritualistic tattoos. He was Kendell, and was a notorious serial killer. The second High Mage was a woman with braided hair and similar tattoos. She was Joan, a notorious summoner.

Past the criminals was one of the noble representatives. Their bright and flashy clothes revealed their connection to the eccentric Lord Angus. The leader, the same one who looted Lord Raphael's estate, was a young man with bright blue hair, this time donning a thick fur coat.

He was carefree despite being in the presence of the different powerhouses, but he did have his own reputation, after all. If Lord Raphael had Verro and Virra, then Lord Angus had HIM.

Written in the fur of his coat was his name: Jason.

Jason chewed on a lollipop while he looked at the representatives of another noble next to him with disdain. Unlike the bright colors of Lord Angus, the people of Lord Delilah wore black formal suits.

Jason locked eyes with their leader, a woman with long orange hair, red eyes, and wearing a suit. She was Lord Delilah's top bodyguard, named Cecilia. Blah blah Lord Raphael=Verro, Lord Angus=Jason, and Lord Delilah=Cecilia.

Cecilia, in her own way, was more feared than Verro or Jason. That was because she was one of the last few people alive that followed the path of the Barbarian. Instead of being a Grand Knight like Jason, or a Dark Assassin like Verro, she was a 4th Battle Barbarian Warrior, equivalent to a 3rd Boon Grand Knight.

Jason flipped her off, and Cecilia growled at him. Past the rest of the noble groups, a duo sat in the shade of the trees. One was a short, short man with a full beard and a well-toned body. A Dwarf.

The Dwarf had on an apron with a name tag that read "Loftam". Next to Loftam sat a very tall person wrapped in multiple robes and clothing so as to expose not even a little bit of their features. The two of them were the representatives of the Dwarves.

"This will be your first time out in the field, eh, Pawn?" He asked the slender giant next to him. Pawn only nodded stiffly, making Loftam shake his head.

Among these groups and the rest, no one really interacted with each other and kept to themselves. That was until a certain group arrived.

A small group of 7 hooded figures in brown robes entered. The one in the middle pulled back their hood, revealing a beautiful blonde woman with pointy ears that had a small tiara on. The rest pulled down their hoods to reveal guards with pointed ears as well.

What shocked everyone was not the fact that the Elves had arrived, but instead it was the identity of the Elven girl in the middle wearing a tiara. She was not a normal Elf, but was the 3rd princess of the Elven kingdom.

She was Princess Catalyst!
