Master?

Yao Ya crawled over and sat down staring intently at the materials in front of her.

A delicate right hand gently picked up the brush, lifting it above the small container of ink. She slowly dipped the bristles in before raising it over the sheet of inscription paper placed in front of her.

As she begin elegant and dignified strokes began to cover the sheet quickly forming characters.

Her eyes changed between two different targets, wonder what else she could be focusing on I looked over. In her left hand she held the invisibility inscription I finished drawing for her a moments ago.

She had just been copying the characters over from my sheet to hers, making sure the placement of each character was in a similar if not the same location as mine.

Her hand writing was seemingly perfect, each character had no flaws as they were swiftly drawn. In comparison mine looked like a some one who just came out of elementary or primary school.

It took me almost an hour to draw the one in her hands, yet in just a few minutes she had already finished a quarter of the characters needed to activate the inscription.

Confusion appeared in my mind as I silently watched her... just be better than me at making inscriptions. As her first time no less!

'Has she always been this good at learning quickly? Simply by watching me make it once and looking over at the paper she done this. Isn't this too good? Hmm.. maybe I'm just that good of a teacher that's all!'

As I continued staring at the astonishing progress she was making in completing that inscription when a pair hands were placed upon my shoulders.

I didn't need to turn to know who was behind me.

"So, you really did make those inscriptions from before? I'm sorry, but you really need to improve your skill in making them. You should told me they were yours. I would of been able to help you a little bit to improve them."

Although I heard those words I was still focused on the rapid pace she was making, in hopes that I might be able to learn something from watching her.

"Ok..."

The hands atop my shoulders slithered forward onto my chest, before she pulled me back towards her. As I fell back on her it broke my little trance, creating a muffled sounds in the process.

The ceiling was all I saw for a second before I moved a bit to sit up. Looking back towards Yao Ya she had turned around and I swear I saw her glaring towards me. After blinking what I thought was a glare was actually just a warm smile.

'Huh, its so weird. When ever I'm around Yao Ya, I start hallucinating, specifically about her, doing things she would definitely never do.'

"It's ok, they weren't that bad. Why don't you start practicing it again?"

Lifting my head up, I answered her.

"Huh? Sure, I was planning to start doing it again anyway."

When I turned back I saw Yao Ya finish the final stroke in a pretty dramatic way. She had her brush pointed away from her body in her arm which she extended all the way out to the side. She held it like that for a few seconds before finally letting it down. Placing the brush parallel with the inscription.

Turning around she held the inscription she made with both hands presenting it to me like I did to her. Li Lian Released me from her grasp as I fully sat up to receive her creation.

"Wow Yao Ya, I didn't know you were so talented in creating inscriptions. This is your first time right?" I asked when she handed it over to me.

"En, It's all because of you showing me how to make it that I could create this. This could be an equal trade now that I've given you back one right?"

"Yes, but I don't think mine is worth yours. The one you made easily makes it to the middle-grade human tier of inscription, while the one I gave you is only the lowest grade possible, the low-grade human. This just wouldn't be fair to you so I'll make add something else for you to have."

"No, no it's okay. I wouldn't even be able to have made this if I didn't learn from you, so consider this a gift from me. If you really don't think this is fair for me than why don't you... um teach me some more inscriptions?"

"En, alright than I accept being your teacher for this."

She swiftly changed into a kneeling position in front of me.

"Thank you for taking me in Master!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa you don't have to be so serious about this! It's not like I can teach you that much anyway, I'm basically at your level right now."

Scooting towards me and grabbing my leg, "Hehehe, I'm just kidding.. Master~."

Looking around the room I could still see a bright light coming through the doorway. We still had the rest of the day before the Inner disciple ceremony tomorrow.

'I guess I could show her the few other inscriptions I know about or something.'

...

'She's a genius at inscribing! Either that or her ability to copy something is incredible! I've already shown her all the inscriptions I know and she has made them all at least in the middle-grade human each time. Her speed at inscribing them is three to four times my own. I just have to get better at inscriptions now if I don't I won't be able to fulfil the trade.'

Looking at the small collection of inscriptions we both have by our sides I realize how much time we've taken. The light which once permeated the door is no longer there, instead replaced by the lights beside us. Along with that I realize I'm really not fit to be her teacher in any way at all.

"Well, I think it's time for you to go home. If you stay any longer you might not wake up for ceremony tomorrow morning."

"Hmm.. how about I just sleep here with you tonight? Wouldn't that be better? I wouldn't have to leave and go all the way back to my room, while we could also wake up and walk to the ceremony together."

"Ok, sure doesn't sound too bad."

"Yay! Come on lets go now!"

As she said that she got ahold of my sleeve and started dragging me to my room.

"Wait! Why don't you just sleep in the empty bed of the other room?" I tried saying while pointing to the other room.

"No! I wanna sleep in the same room as you!"

"What? I don't have anything for you to sleep on though if you want to sleep in the same room with me." I said as she barged into my room.

"What about your bed then? That's perfect for just the two of us!" She said while sitting down on my bed.

"But-"

"*YAWN* I'm sleepy come on, didn't you say that we'll miss the ceremony if we don't sleep now? Get over here!" She said pulling me down under the sheets.

She made me huddle my arms near my chest as she wrapped hers around me, restricting the movement of my upper body.

A moment later Li Lian comes in through the open door and faintly smiles while looking me. She then closed the door before transforming into a little spider and jumping into her web at the corner.

Yao Ya's chest was pressed up against my back, feeling nice and warm. The sensation made me feel comfortable. In the end I slowly fell asleep as she cuddled me.
