"No."

"Sorry?"

"No."

"..."

Lucas didn't bother speaking with him much anymore and turned to leave to find another enemy.

Jay (Kirito), looked awkward as he laughed and scratch his head seeing Lucas decline him so bluntly.

Beside him, the Thief girl Dia narrowed her eyes which shone a dangerous glint, and secretly unsheathed the knife on her back.

Just in time, Lucas found another Lizardian and activated Dragon's Wrath again.

Suddenly, the killing intent that Dia was directing to Lucas seemed to have magnified by ten folds and returned back to her!

Her face grew pale and she started to sweat bullets. She could feel a deep cold chill down her spine and her mind was screaming DANGER repeatedly like an alarm!

The Healer girl Jana noticed her expression and asked.

"Dia? What's wrong? You look pale."

When she said that, Jay and the others also noticed her and looked worried.

"Dia? Are you feeling sick? How about we log out for now and take a rest?"

"Are you alright Dia?"

"I...I..."

At this time, Lucas had killed the Lizardian he met and deactivated his Dragon Wrath. He noticed the commotion behind him and turned to look.

The instant Dia made eye contact with Lucas, she shrieked and stumbled on the ground.

Lucas tilted his head in confusion.

What's up with that girl? Are they newbies?

Lucas shook his head.

Good thing I didn't join them. I'd rather not carry a bunch of newbies...

Lucas had forgotten that he was even more of a newbie than them. He doesn't even have proper equipment and weapon yet!

Ignoring the commotion behind him, Lucas dismantled the corpse amateurly and stored them in his Inventory.

"Sigh, why can't I have this convenient Inventory in the real world as well...?"

it can't be helped. The Status and Inventory are support systems created by that genius Trask mentioned. And it will only work if you log in to this world using the Portal device.

Lucas sighed and returned back to the village.

He had hunted for quite a while already and managed to level up a lot. It was time he gains some equipment other than his beginner clothes.

Using the loots he got from hunting Lizardians, he went to the tailor shop to see if they can make him some new clothes with it. If not, he can just sell it to them and buy it from their store.

"Maybe I should also learn tailoring? Or smithing? It sounds convenient. I can earn some money with it too..."

Lucas nodded to himself and entered the tailor shop.

"Welcome!"

He was immediately greeted by a fox lady with mesmerizing voice wearing a beautiful and colorful kimono as she sat behind the counter table.

She had long orange hair tied to a bun behind her head with a bunch of decorative sticks with dangling gold bells that chimed whenever she tilts her head even slightly.

She also held a thin smoke pipe in her hand which she would occasionally suck and puff smoke.

Lucas looked at the fluffy tails behind her and saw there were two of them.

She was actually a Two-tailed Fox Werebeast!

Even though not as rare as a Nine-tailed one, it was still plenty rare to see.

To think that one would be serving as a simple clerk here...wait, did I enter the wrong place?

Lucas walked out of the door and looked at the sign overhead.

[Nine-Tailor Shop]

Nine-Tail...or? I see what you did there.

The fox lady at the desk chuckled when she saw Lucas look at the sign.

"Yes, this is a Tailor shop. You didn't enter wrongly."

"Haha, sorry about that. Umm, is there really someone here with Nine-tails?"

"That would be the owner of this place."

"Ah, I see."

Lucas nodded in understanding.

The Dog Tribe village is said to be composed of 4 main NPC leaders.

They are composed of Dog, Lion, Wolf, and Fox werebeasts. It was also said that the Lion werebeast originally are a part of the Cat Tribe but there seemed to have been a dispute in the past and they became a part of the Dog tribe instead.

Lucas had read in the forums that these 4 leaders each have quite a rare breed and some had speculated the Fox werebeast leader to be a Nine-tailed beast but still unable to confirm it as no one had seen her yet.

Maybe that leader and the boss of this place are the same people.

After pondering about it for a few seconds, Lucas no longer bothered with it and asked.

"I have some Lizardian leather here. Is it possible to commission for a set of clothes or is it better to sell it instead?"

Lucas pulled out a few pieces of leather for the fox lady to see.

"Hmm, the quality is quite bad. You should really learn dismantling better so you can extract better quality materials."

Lucas chuckled bitterly.

"Anyway, a commission is fine. You will be charged 500 gold coins for the commission since you already have the main material. If you wish to sell it, we can buy it for 20 gold coins per piece."

"..."

Lucas' face twitched.

Isn't that a total ripoff!? I don't even have any gold coins!

Lucas sighed.

"Forget it, I'll sell them all then."

And so, Lucas had finally gotten his first money in the game.

420 gold coins after selling all the leather he had.

It's probably enough to buy a piece of equipment...maybe...

"Right, is it possible to learn tailoring here as well?"

The fox lady tilted her head cutely.

"You wish to learn?"

"Yes. Is it possible?"

The fox lady smiled and placed her finger under her chin as she pondered.

"Well, it's not impossible but...it's not free either."

"...How much?"

Lucas asked cautiously.

The fox lady smiled and lifted her palm, showing five fingers.

"...5 gold?"

"5000 gold coins."

"...Miss, are you high? Is that what you're smoking? If so, can I have some too?"

The fox lady chuckled. The bells on her head rung softly which sort of entranced Lucas.

She twirled the smoke pipe in her hand and presented it to Lucas.

"Want to have a try?"

"...No way, are you actually really high?"

Lucas was speechless. Don't tell me that thing she's smoking is really weed?

...Anyway, it should be fine to try right?

Lucas was curious as he had never tried it before. Besides, this was in another world...it should be legal if she's doing it openly right?

(AN: Reminder, this is a fiction novel. Don't do drugs kids!)

Lucas shrugged and placed his mouth on the pipe.

When he inhaled the smoke, Lucas felt something weird in his body. His lungs felt warm and his body relaxed.

Wow, this shit is so effective!

Lucas blew a mouthful of smoke and sighed.

Meanwhile, the fox lady looked at him with blinking eyes.

"Y-you really did it..."

"Huh?"

"Wait, hold on, are you alright?"

"What do you mean? I feel fine though? A bit lightheaded but still fine."

Lucas tilted his head.

Judging from what he tried just now, Lucas knew that whatever she's smoking isn't anything bad. Ah, but repeated smoking is still bad for the lungs. Don't start smoking kids.

The fox lady blinked a few more times and fell silent.

"...Alright."

"Huh?"

"I will teach you the ways of a tailor personally. We will start tomorrow morning so make sure you're not late."

"Eh? How about the fee?"

"Oh? I was going to teach you for free but if you insi-"

"THANK YOU VERY MUCH, TEACHER! I STILL HAVE STUFF TO DO SO I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW!"

"..."

After bowing once, Lucas quickly left before she starts charging him money again.

Speechless at how fast he ran away, the fox lady sighed and shook her head.

She looked at the pipe in her hand and remembered how that guy sucked on it a while ago.

"To think there was someone who would be fine after inhaling my Charm Smoke directly...what an interesting guy..."

She smiled and placed her mouth on the end and her eyes widened in surprise.

"This taste...ahh, how can this be? Is he perhaps..."

Her eyes lit up as she sucked and blew a cloud of smoke.

The next moment, a figure appeared from the backdoor and was surprised to see the fox lady behind the desk.

"B-boss! W-why are you...uhh...this..."

The fox lady narrowed her eyes and stood up.

As she did, tails appeared behind her. It was no longer two...but nine!

She was simply sitting on her other tails earlier and because of the desk counter, Lucas was only able to see two of her tails when in fact, she is actually a Nine-Tailed werebeast!

"Where have you been? Without anyone in the counter, what would you do if a customer comes in?"

"I-I'm sorry! I-I was...umm, I was in the shop next door...eating cake...There wasn't anyone coming for a while so I thought...it would be fine..."

The fox lady narrowed her eyes again, making the poor clerk flinch and shake in fear.

After a while, the fox lady snorted and turned away.

"Hmph! I'll forgive you this time since I met someone interesting. Right, if a guy with white hair, blue eyes, and wolf fangs without wolf ears or tail appear tomorrow, lead him to the backroom."

"U-understood! I promise it won't happen again!"

"Alright, get back to your work."

The fox lady shook her head and left to the back.

The instant she left, the clerk finally sighed in relief.

"I wonder what the boss meant about someone interesting...for our cold boss to find him interesting, just who is this guy?"

She muttered but then shook her head.

As a clerk, she can only do as her boss asks of her. She can't screw up again!

Meanwhile, Lucas had arrived at the Blacksmith store to see if he can find a suitable weapon.

Although he's a Healer...he's basically playing solo too so he needed weapons to deal damage. It's not convenient for him to always just use his fists.

A gauntlet maybe?

Or a dagger? Spear? Shield?

Maybe bow or gun?

In this world, one isn't exactly restricted by their class in regards to holding weapons. It's just that the class has certain advantages when using the proper weapon.

As a Healer, he can use a catalyst-type weapon like a staff or book to equip.

But Lucas doesn't know any attack magic so he can only use other weapons instead. Oh, maybe he can use the staff to...whack enemies? If we go in that line of thought, a book is also pretty hard and can be used to whack people...

"Maybe I should also get a sword just in case? Who knows when that Sword Heal skill will come in handy..."

Lucas sighed.

Anyway, he can just buy a cheap sword later. But what should his main weapon be for now?
