Scott Miana belongs to the decline Miana Family which hold the rank of Baron. He became an orphan at the age of 12 years old and was taken custody by his grandfather Albert Miana which is the Head of the Family. Albert's wife passed away after giving birth to Scott's mother Elaine. Thus Albert has been taking care of Elaine as a single parent until she married the man she loves. Albert had always been a supporting and spoiled father thus he did not stop her from being with the person she loves Adam. Then after a year Adam and Elaine conceive a child which is Scott. They live happily for the past 13 years until they get caught in an accident and pass away leaving Scott with his Grandfather.

Scott temperament has changed to being a quiet child after the accident. Most of the time he would in gross himself with books day in and day out. The only human contact he has is with his grandfather and the servants of household and at most he is on average terms with Albert. On Scott 14th birthday Albert decided to send Scott to a boarding school of nobles and gifted called Toswel Academy. The main purpose Albert do this is to make sure that Scott is able to be in contact with peers his age as well as making connections with powerful families and figure as Albert decide to make him the heir to the Miana Family.

But due to Scott introvert nature, he is easily picked on and bullied during his 1st week of the academy and got caught up in an accident where a foreign object hit him in the head. Once Albert heard the news that Scott was in a comatose state he waltzes into the Academy and demands an explanation from the school. Contrary to Albert expectation the school protects the person who injured Scott and advice Albert to let his matter go as that person belongs to an ancient family and hold a very high status within the empire. Back at the in the academy infirmary there laid a person on the bed. Scott was starting to regain his conscious. Scott open is eyes and see a text in front of him

"Huh? What's this? Is this an interface letterbox like in those RPG games? Did I hit my head too hard I started to hallucinate things ?" At that moment the door of the infirmary was open and Scott can see Albert and the school nurse rushing over to him. Scott can see that Albert has a worried face.

'Grandfather...it would seem that I have troubled him again. There's more wrinkle on his face and more gray hair on his head when compared to before I left the academy'

"Are you alright Scott does your head still hurt. You were unconscious for 1 week. Grandpa got here as soon as grandpa found out what happen. But grandpa wasn't able to get justice to you.*sigh*." said Albert

Scott reply with "I'm feeling fine and It's alright grandpa I understand. With the circumstances of our family right now we can't afford to provoke that individual since he belongs to a powerful noble family. All we could do is just endure the pain in silence."

Albert feels a shame that he fails to bring up the Miana family name. It's due to his incompetent to having a higher cultivation base that the Miana family is in decline. This is a world where magic and technology co-exist. After the great calamity 6 century ago the world climate and structure was changed. Monster start coming to this world through space rifts. During that time human technology weapon prove to be useless against these monster. It was predicted at that time human will face its extinction but at the darkest of time a few individuals who possess otherworldly superpowers subdue these monster and taken back half of the land that monster invade. These people share their knowledge with the public and say that they are all part of an ancient family that still practice the old and so call fantasy ways which are magic and martial arts.

They said due to the fact that the rifts appear to this world it also bought along energies that can be seen with human naked eyes to this world thus enabling them to fully cultivate and practice these old methods. With the help of modern technology and science of private companies, they were able to gain fight back against these monster. After that, a war erupted between human and these monster until the leaders of the monster race and human make a truce where humans and monsters won't go to the major part of their home respectively but for the other parts of the world they can roam free. This is so that both sides can still increase their strength. Human will hunt monsters as these monster body parts can be used to make medicine, weapons, and artifacts. While monster will gain the energy that was absorbed by human cultivator when eating them thus enabling them to further evolve

The leading humans then decide to split up the land they get back based on their war contribution and became empires of the world. The other humans who involve and contribution to the war were also given land, title, and riches based on their contribution. They became the nobility based on the leader they swore to serve. The Miana family happen to be one of those contributing family of the Dusk Empire. Thus the age of magic and science began where it brought changes to society. Where the family with the most and higher ranking cultivator regardless of magic or martial arts became the powerful figures of the world. In other words, the world goes back to the law of the jungle albeit invisible where the strong thrive and the weak succumb.

"Grandpa I think you should go back. I know there's a lot of work that you still need to do at the company. I will be fine it's just some light headache. The nurse here will help me contact you if anything major happens so don't worry" said Scott

Albert face still shows that he worries about Scott but since Scott says that he is alright and will contact him if anything happens Albert reluctant left the Academy. After Scott wakes up the nurse of the infirmary says that Scott is free to leave but should stay in bed for a few days before going back to class. Thus Scott goes to his room at the dormitory. The moment he opens the door he saw that there was no one in the room currently, his stuff is left as it is a week ago. It was still morning so Scott guesses that his roommate is currently attending classes. With nothing better to do Scott pull his study desk chair and start reading one of the books that he borrowed at the library. After a period of time his roommate return with a gloomy face.

"What wrong Qamir? What did the professor give you detention or something?" says Scott with a smile to his roommate.

Qamir Wassim a noble that was born on the Desert King Empire. His father is the current head of the Wassim family, a merchant family. Due to the fact that the head of Wassim has many children, he decides to place one of his children to this academy to increase their connections. Qamir happens to be the 18th born out of the 21 children total children currently. For the most part, Qamir is what a person calls a chatty person.

"Its nothing just that the professor have given an assignment to the class and expecting to finish by 3 days. Here since you were absent today the professor ask me to pass you your assignment."

'Assignment Task: Find the materials needed to concoction a level 1 regeneration potion before the start of next alchemy class which are

1xLeaf of an Earthen Plant(higher rank the plant the better) of 3x Common herbal petal and 1x Salamander Blood Essence Drop'

"hmmm from the look of things the Herbal petal can be bought at the school material shop but for the leaf and Salamander drop, it's harder to find. The only way I know to find a Salamander Drop this urgent is by online but that might even take a few days and not guarantee it will arrive. As for the Earthen Plant, this is usually found at the outer area of the forest next to the academy the problem is that there will be wild monsters living there so if we lucky we may be able to found a low ranking salamander creature to get its blood essence" said Scott

Qamir replied "*sigh* yeah that the problem since we just entered the academy most of us freshman don't know the landscape of the academy that well. So some of our classmates decided to ask for the seniors to help out the problem is they ask for 2 Dusk Empire Gold for each student joining the exhibition"

'2 Dusk Empire Gold for each student! That borderline robbery looks like the seniors are taking advantage of the freshman. 1 Dusk Empire Gold is like 3 weeks of an average student living cost at least. The Academy entry cost about 30 Gold and with the already month academy fee which is 10 gold that grandpa paid. These 3 gold are my pocket money to last for the end of this month with the way our family right now I don't think I can ask grandpa any more money.*sigh* what do I do then? Should I try to go find it on my own? Or try finding people to sell them. But even if I do want to buy them I'm guessing it's not cheap with the current situation the other students may already increase the prices of these material'

Before Scott can say anything else Qamir take something in his pocket and give it to Scott "...Scott, I know that your current household condition is not financially stable so here take this gold. You can pay me back whenever you want so don't go start making excuses not going with us" Said Qamir with a smile and a concerning face

Scott stood there with a blank face unable to say anything to Qamir not because he felt embarrassed but because he felt grateful towards Qamir. After a few second Scott finally said"Thank you I promise to pay you back when I have enough money and if you don't understand any topic in class I can always help to teach you"

"Haha really then I will hold on to that promise of yours"

Qamir continues chatting about today's class with Scott and finally ask Scott about his injuries " So how's your head does it still hurt?"

"It's OK now just some light headache no need to worry," said Scott

"That Orville bastard just because he belongs to the Mecul family he dares act arrogantly at the school. I heard that his family pays one of the higher up of the school to silence the people involved in that incident even witness" said Qamir with an angry look

"I know my grandpa already talk to me about it. But even if I want to stand up against him our cultivation level differ so much. He is already at the 7th stage of the awakening realm while I still haven't begun cultivating yet so I plan to cultivate after my injury but it seems I would have to hold on to that since we have to find the ingredients before the next alchemy class"

At that night when both of them fall asleep, a great change occurs to Scott. Unknown to him that his destiny is about to change due to the little misfortune he obtains.
