Ren glanced at the message above the doors.
"Pick the door 4 doors from the right." The message said.
Ren turned behind him.
The tunnel behind him closed.
Despite the arduous trail that Ren had gone through, he chose to believe in the words. He did not know, but his instincts were telling him one thing; the door that he chose previously was the only road to survival.
Not hesitating any longer, Ren slithered through the door 4th doors from the right.
Ren was not hit by pressure this time. Rather projectiles emerged from the earth surrounding him. The projectiles were slow and less powerful at first, gradually getting faster and more powerful.
Midway through the tunnel, Ren realized that the penetrative ability of the arrows far surpassed his defense. He had no choice but to dodge, otherwise he would significantly injure himself.
Ren put everything he had into one dodge of an arrow and then spent a few minutes resting. Gradually, this resting time increased to hours.
Ren spent a 2 days on this tunnel before finally escaping, where he was greeted with the same choices.
[Ding! A foreign energy enters your body. Your body has undergone massive physical stress! Your Agility increases by 10 attribute points]
Ren once again underwent large physical changes following the completion of the trial. Ren was now more than sure that this whole cave system was artificially created.
But for what purpose? And by who?
Ren continued following the instructions of the tunnels, completing the challenges that were set through hard work and precision. His stats and skill percentages gradually increased.

Ren stood in front of the choices again. It had been more than a week now. Snakes had the ability to survive for long amounts of time for food. Still for Ren, this was torture.

All of his stats had progressed significantly. Two more of his stats had even surpassed the '90' barrier.
Ren stood in front of the nine doors.
"Last choice: Pick the door on the left." The message said clearly in Perfect English.
This was the final choice before he would get his supposed answers. Ren stared at the doors in front of him for a moment before choosing the suggested door with no hesitation.
His body slithered in.
'This has the be the spirit door.' Ren thought. His spirit had been stuck on 99 for a while now. Ren assumed that this was a major limiter. Perhaps it was the requirement to surpass level 5, Ren hypothesized.
A ray of light hit Ren's body, lightly tickling him.
Ren immediately activated his shield. He did not remain complacent in front of the early obstacles any longer.
Ren's barrier that he set up was quite simple. Just a small layer of spirit that covered his skin like an armor.
Every time the rays of light hit Rei's shield, Ren would stop and analyze the impact. He slightly adjusted the composition of his shield to better defend against the light particles.
The penetrative ability of the rays of light continued to increase.
Ren had no choice but to use multiple shields stacked on top of one another.
He extended his barrier further and further away from his body, stacking barriers on top of one another.
Gradually, Ren made progress.
After concentrating for a while, Ren would recharge his spirit and mental strength before continuing again.
[Spirit Control] skill percentage continued to increase, as Ren's ability to manipulate spirit increased.
Eventually, the rays of light turned into other things. Jaws of monsters constructed out of spirit. Balls of high power spirit. Giant weapons made of spirit.
Ren had to learn to resist each of these attacks.
He would sometimes defend through the use of a shield, at other times opting to use his own attacks to counterattack. Gradually Ren continued into the tunnel.
'The final one.' Ren thought. He mobilized most of his spirit in front of him.
[Spirit Control: Protect]
Barriers of spirit appeared around him.
A large ray of spirit bombarded his barrier.
'Hold!' Ren thought, pouring more spirit into his barrier.
*Crack**Crack*
Small cracks began to appear all over his shield.
Finally, the bombardment of energy stopped. Ren's barrier dispelled, as Ren moved through the open exit.
'Finally!' he thought.

He would finally get some answers.
The exit of the tunnel opened up to a large chamber. Dark stones covered the surroundings walls. In the middle of the chamber stood a large pedestal. On the top of this pedestal, a black object seemed to mystically float on top of the air.
'What is that?' Ren thought.
A voice entered his ears.
'You have found this place, my friend. I hope you enjoyed the gifts I prepared. I know that you may have a few questions. I-'
The voice was interrupted by a loud beeping sound.
'It appears that I do not have much time.'
The beeping sound continued in the background.
'Just know that I am also like you. This world… it's…'
The beeping blared, blocking out the rest of the sentence.
'Find the ruins… find the pieces. Connect the pieces and all of your questions will be solved.' The voice continued.
'Enjoy the heart. This is my final gift to you.'
The voice abruptly cut off.
Ren lay there in shock for a few seconds, processing the information that he had just received.
'What the hell happened… gifts… final gift… hear…' The keywords of the message replayed within his heart.
Someone had left the heart there for someone like him, a reincarnator.
What could be their purpose? Were they a friend or an enemy?
Ren approached the heart in front of him.
'It does not seem to contain any poison.' Ren said as he observed the heart. His [Poison control] skill had the ability to detect whether an object was poisoned.
After checking for a few more minutes, Ren determined that it was safe to eat. Why would the owner of this cave bring him all the way here just to harm him?
There were clearly other opportunities.
