33 Chapter 28

All 20 members of the community were blessed by Eru with the ability to tame dragons. He provided them with 4 dragons, two of which were male and the other two were female.

Also all the members of the community had certain change in features like silvery hair and purple eyes.

Aerion, with his Dragon, easily razed the group of raiders. It was a complete massacre, but it didn't end there. With such powerful dragons, the desire to become a lord or king naturally emerged.

The initial 20 members were called Dragon Lords, but not all of them had dragons due to the limited number of dragons available (only 4 in total).

Aerion, as the leader of Valyria, began expanding their influence and established the Freehold with the city of Valyria as its capital.

During this time, they started praying to Eru and Horus for guidance and luck. Horus showed favoritism and provided them with assistance, similar to Ulmo, by sharing knowledge about forging, building, and more.

Meanwhile, Valyrians had the ability to use magic, although not everyone possessed this gift.

As a result, Valyrians started to grow more and more powerful. Magic flourished, and towering, majestic structures reached toward the sky where dragons soared. Stone Valyrian sphinxes gazed down with garnet eyes, and skilled smiths used spells to forge legendary Valyrian steel weapons known for their strength and sharpness.

During an era of great prosperity, Aerion, a man proud of his achievements, saw his children rise to become Dragon Lords. Among them, his youngest daughter, Amphitrite, held a special place in his heart.

Amphitrite possessed a beauty that was both regal and commanding. Her eyes, a captivating shade of purple, exuded a vibrant and intense hue, enhancing the allure and hypnotic power of her gaze.

Her crowning glory was a cascade of amazing silvery grey plaited locks, reminiscent of shimmering frost. This ethereal appearance bestowed upon her an air of enchantment and grace.

Being Aerion's cherished and youngest daughter, Amphitrite became the subject of many suitors' desires. However, her icy demeanor made it impossible for anyone to win her over.

Rather than being captivated by dragons like her siblings, Amphitrite was a free spirit who yearned for the open seas. Sailing across vast waters, she explored the depths and captured the essence of marine life through her artistic endeavors.

During one of her voyages, she chanced upon a man who carried himself with regal grace and exuded unwavering confidence. His features were chiseled and sculpted, granting him a noble countenance. A strong jawline added to his commanding presence, while his piercing eyes mirrored the depths of the ocean itself, radiating both wisdom and unyielding determination.

Amphitrite found herself irresistibly drawn to this individual, and as their conversations flowed naturally, a profound connection blossomed between them, drawing them closer with each passing moment.

This was none other than Ulmo himself, who was curious about Amphitrite due to her deep affinity for the sea. He never imagined he could fall in love with her. While she promised to see him, he was unsure since his father forbade him from having relationships with mortals.

As Ulmo stood on the beach, lost in thoughts of his beloved Amphitrite, he was saddened by the whole situation. So with his divine powers, he manipulated the waters, shaping them into a lifelike model of Amphitrite. The sea water swirled and danced, mimicking her every feature and movement, a testament to the depth of his love for her.

Ulmo was lost in thought when he heard a voice. "My dear older brother, what is it that I sense from you?"

Ulmo waved his hand as the model of Amphitrite he had created, Ulmo allowed the sea water to disperse, returning the waves to their natural state.

Ulmo turned and saw that it was Hathor. Keeping a calm face, he replied, "Nothing."

He saw Hathor and next to her was Yavanna.

While Hathor grinned and said, "Don't lie, brother. I can sense a deep longing and love."

Ulmo winced, knowing that Hathor, being the goddess of love, could easily perceive his emotions.

Yavanna embraced her brother, a gesture of support and love. "Tell us brother, we are always behind you."

Ulmo realizing that lying was futile, he decided to tell her the truth. "I have fallen in love with a mortal."

Hathor's smile grew upon hearing this, and she said, "Tell me more."

Ulmo complied and explained how he met Amphitrite and how he had fallen deeply in love with her.

While Yavanna was happy and Hathor grinned and said, "The bond between you is so strong, I can tell she feels the same."

Ulmo felt a mixture of happiness and sadness. "But I cannot be with her. She is a mortal, and our father has forbidden any relationships with them."

Hathor facepalmed and explained, "Oh, you foolish brother of mine. Father did not forbid relationships with mortals. He simply warned us against indiscriminate affairs and breaking hearts. He seems to have foreseen this and allowed for some leeway in the law. As long as you inform father and take her as your lawful wife, nothing will happen."

Ulmo was stumped by this revelation and deeply contemplated their father's words. He understood that his father's law was not against relationships with mortals per se, but rather against reckless and casual encounters.

Unlike the Greek counterpart Poseidon, Ulmo had more control and was incredibly loyal to the person he would fall in love with, which in this case was Amphitrite. They would have a demigod son in the future and his name was Perseus and founder House of Velaryon.

However, Valyria's expansion would draw the attention of other countries, particularly the Old Empire of Ghis, which dominated and controlled much of Essos. The Ghiscari was start attempts to stop Valyria's expansion, leading to a series of great wars between the burgeoning Freehold and the Old Empire.
