2 Chapter 2 Gods

Daniel's eyes swiftly dimmed as his soul got swallowed by the pitch-black void. His expression darkened with rage. He cried, though no sound came from his lips, "so this is how I die? All of those sacrifices, FUCK!" he yelled as his spirit burned with rage.

After that, a sudden sensation of wrath consumed Daniel's soul, but this time it was more dominant that it even caused the soldiers standing close to his lifeless body to shudder, However, it only transpired in a split second.

Daniel felt like plummeting onto the endless pit as if he was falling into abyssal hell. When he thought everything was finally over, a sphere of dazzling light suddenly materialized beneath his soul, instantaneously distorting his entire being.

Daniel opened his eyes as the warm sparkle of the sun caressed his face. Fresh air and a clear, gorgeous sky with a bird gliding in it greeted Daniel as soon as he opened his eyes. He let out a growl as he cautiously knelt on the green grass, and was startled by what his eyes were seeing.

The castle's trees reached the sky as their branches swung freely due to the high wind. Numerous habitats, including rabbits, birds, and others, could be observed happily residing beneath those large trees. Daniel turned his head away and peered at the floor. He noticed a patch of lush, green grass with a bouquet of vibrant flowers.

Daniel forgot that he was dead due to the breathtaking surroundings. His vision abruptly went black, disturbing his glittering eyes as he gazed over the enchanted forest.

"huh?" Daniel began to speak, but the sudden pain in his head cut him off. "What happened, where-"

Daniel lost all of his power and collapsed to the hazy ground. He grunted loudly, clenching the rough ground to numb the pain he was feeling.

But it wasn't successful. As the pain progressively consumed Daniel's entire body, blood started to ooze from his ear, nose, eyes, and nails, covering the place polled with blood.

Daniel experienced agonizing pain that felt like he was being inflicted with a rusty knife, inch by inch. Daniel screamed once again as he started to scrape his skin to feel better.

As his mind sought to escape his body, Daniel's eyesight grew incredibly fuzzy while his eyes started to close uncontrollably over time. Daniel won't pass out though, for some strange reason.

...

The duration of the suffering in Daniel's body was unknown, whether it had been minutes or hours. He was in such excruciating pain that he was only able to think that he needed to make the misery go away.

A puddle of bloody gore covered his garments and the ground because no one could assist him in stopping the bleeding because he was alone in an enchanted forest.

Daniel's mind was gradually being destroyed by the anguish, but just before it reached its conclusion, the suffering abruptly vanished. As a bead of sweat steadily accumulated on his head, Daniel yearned for air. Daniel coughed loudly and asked, "What was that?"

He sat on the ground and stared at the tree in front of him, he processed what the hell had just happened. After a short while, Daniel was able to relax. He had assumed that everything was gone, but all of a sudden, an old memory came flooding back to his head.

Everything that had happened in his previous life appeared before his eyes in an instant, as if the time had suddenly reversed. In his wrath, Daniel clenched his jaw and gritted his teeth as he experienced his old life as if it had all happened just moments earlier.

He was completely unprepared for the return of everything he had tried to forget in his previous life. Daniel's eyes suddenly started to tear up.

"s-so I died," announced Daniel while concealing his eyes with his palm, attempting to hold back the tears that were starting to well up.

"Why did that happen to me? What did I do? Why did I live such a harsh life?" Daniel agonized as tears slithered down his arm.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I can't keep my promise, I was a fool, I'm sorry," Daniel declared as he repeatedly slammed his head against the ground until it bled. He cried for everything he had ever regretted in his previous life. People would assume he was insane if they saw him at this very moment.

Warm blood was trickling from Daniel's forehead as he stared at the robust flower next to him with a blank expression on his face. Gently closing his eyes, Daniel lamented the action he had regretted.

After an hour, Daniel brushed away his tears and apologized, saying, "I'm extremely sorry if I can't keep my word, it's my fault for being greedy," before bowing.

He then raised his gaze to the lovely sky, which brought back a happy recollection from his previous life and allowed him to relax.

...

A soft gurgle instantly resounded on Daniel's back as he calmed down. Daniel rapidly transitioned from his helpless state to his combat mindset. He gently peered around the tree and was astounded by what he saw.

A woman was crouching on the ground with her face hidden by both of her arms while she wore a perfect white dress and had pure black, silky straight hair. But Daniel could tell right away that she wasn't a typical woman just by glancing at her body composure.

The woman was kept at a safe distance by Daniel. Inquisitive in tone, he questioned, "um, who are you, did you also die?"

The woman whimpered loudly while tears dripped to the ground, however, she did not attempt to speak or respond to the query.

Three minutes had passed without receiving any responses which rendered an awkward atmosphere for Daniel. To break the silence Daniel decided to ask the same question again.

"UMM, HELLO WHO ARE YOU? DID YOU ALSO DIE?" Daniel announced loudly and slowly.

Still, the woman didn't reply to Daniel. Since Daniel believed the woman likewise experienced a mental breakdown as a result of her past life recollections, he waited patiently for her to respond.

Daniel waited patiently for a response even after waiting for a minute and a half. However, ten minutes had already gone and Daniel had still not received a response, making him appear crazy, so he awkwardly looked back.

A beautiful and sweet voice touched Daniel's ears just as he was about to leave. "Daniel," she said.

when Daniel looked at his back, the woman's face was finally visible to his eyes. she had sapphire red eyes and an iris shaped like a triangle and circle, orbiting her dark red pupil. Her lips were as red as a rose, and she had the perfect nose—neither too long nor too short.

Her incredible beauty caused Daniel's eyes to enlarge as he hopelessly stared at her, which gradually turned Daniel into a mindless man. Fortunately, Daniel responded fast and gave himself a cheek slap to get his bearings.

While Daniel was collecting his thoughts, the woman again spoke, "I'm a god, Daniel." while gazing a the ground.

His ears began to grow red, and his eyes darkened as the woman's words crossed his mind. Daniel asked, his face remaining expressionless despite the anger evident in his voice. "Are you kidding?"

The woman responded in a sorrowful tone, "I'm not joking, Daniel," while keeping her gaze fixed on the ground.

Since he was on the verge of losing it, Daniel kept asking if she was kidding. He was violently twitching at the moment, yet he still maintained a composed demeanor. "Please answer truly, I'm not joking anymore," Daniel said.

"I'm not joking," she replied with a puppy voice.

Daniel eventually lost his cool when he heard her respond. "What god? Where are you talking about, huh? I begged for help but did I receive a single help? Did something change? NOTHING!"

"Where were you when my friend was tortured in front of me? Where were you when the orphanage was massacred? Huh? Where are you? Probably watching it all happen," Daniel argued as the veins in his neck were about to burst.

Daniel was perplexed and angered by the woman's loud whimper as her eyes moisten with tears. Daniel slammed his foot on the ground and yelled at her, "why the hell are you crying? For what? To look miserable? I'm the one who suffered, not you!" while fiercely pointing his finger at her.

She hugged her own feet, squeezing herself into a ball, and apologized, "I-I'm sorry Daniel, I, no, we couldn't help."

"What the hell your sorry could do? Can it resuscitate innocent people? Can it revive my friends? NO! It can't do anything if I broke a glass and said 'I'm sorry,' will it get fixed? NO RIGHT!" yelled Daniel in a sarcastic tone.

End of the chap.
