Ch. 15
Two weeks had passed since the incident of Sheila's synchronization, and the news about the 94% synchronization rate had also spread to the whole academy. The news was so unbelievable that even someone like Seth was struggling to accept it as the truth. It was a complete mystery and no one could figure out what had happened and why the synchronization rate had reached such a high level. All they know a new alpha unit would emerging, and Seth couldn't help be excited because this Sheila the transfer students was his belongings after all.
The news of Sheila's 94% synchronization rate caused excitement among the boys students, particularly the paladin candidates.
They saw this as an opportunity to become one of the strongest Einjards to have ever been recorded, and a chance to become an Alpha with tremendous power. The boys' students had become competitive and were trying to figure out how to sync with Sheila, hoping they would be the ones who would reach the highest synchronization rate and become the strongest Alpha candidate.
Hearing all this talking about becomes the strongest, made Seth become a little bit annoyed. He couldn't let those guys did whatever they wanted to his belongings.
"Strongest? Hah what a bulsshit, I can defeat every one of you even with that" Seth said while minding his own business.
Seth was well known as a genius among not only his peers but also among the Alphas themselves. His skill and combat iq were unmatched and he was known for never having lost a single fight, which put him in a league of his own. All of his rival recognized this, including the Alphas who acknowledged his power and skill. He was known for being able to think several steps ahead of his opponents and his combat skill was unmatched and otherworldly.
There's even a rumour if he's able to sync with Fenrir he could make such an unstoppable combo with such an immensely powerful alphas.
Of course, it just not a baseless rumour, with his otherworldly level of combat IQ and skill, he was the perfect candidate to maximize Fenrir's destructive power and make him an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.
While Seth was known for being extremely skilled, he also had a rather rude attitude towards people. This was something that wasn't always appreciated and there were many who disliked him or found him as an asshole. While his superior was impressed by his skill, they also didn't appreciate his rude attitude behavior.
"She's mine, so no one could use her at all" Seth said to himself while ignoring those students who gossiping among themselves.
In the center of the academy where the boys and girls weren't separated, Eliza was waiting for Seth. She was a popular figure among both the boys and girls because her achievement with seth at piloting (T)hanatos.
Because her good personality towards everybody she's being crowded with people who wanted her autograph, while no one wanted Seth autograph because he's known for such an asshole.
Seth waited behind the crowd, watching Eliza as she was swarmed by autograph seeking fans. After a while, his irritation could be seen and he was annoyed by the fact that these people weren't even giving her time to breathe. He shouted at the crowd, telling them to piss off and get out of her face "For God sake!!! Get the fucking off the way already! "
The crowd immediately scattered away in seconds upon hearing Seth's shouts, seeing his figure which was clearly annoyed. They had all gotten the message that this was not the time or place to swarm Eliza, and they quickly disappeared. Seth watched them all with a sense of satisfaction, making sure they were all far enough away before turning his attention to Eliza.
"Yeah!! Go fucking do you own bussiness" Seth said while giving a middle finger towards those people.
Seeing how Seth had made the crowd disappear, Eliza just shook her head with a little bit of surprise and said, "What? Are you jealous or something?" Her expression was playful, but she was aware that he had been watching the crowd with irritated expression. She was trying to tease him a bit, but also testing his reaction to see if he was jealous of them.
"Jealous? Don't make me laugh, I didn't even care about those guys. "
"Then why bother to chase them away? Don't worry I won't go anywhere. "
"Whatever, I don't care," Seth responded, shaking his head nonchalantly in an effort to show that he didn't care about that. He just wanted to get into the practice room because they have been expected to train the newcomer.
"How cold, by the way I'm still mad about the last time, I've been waiting forever for your apologies"
"Is there's something I need to be apologize for? " Seth said while opening his tab-screen as he forgot what he did.
"Just don't say anything unnecessary later, after the training sessions did what Commander Hayato asks for, okay?"
Seth agreed easily, without any further complaint.
After a while.
A sound of gunfire could be heard in the distance, as the students were practicing their marksmanship in the nearby training room. Eliza and Seth were still talking to each other, but the constant sound of gunshots made it difficult to have a proper conversation, so they decided to talk about those daily matter after the training sessions was over.
The students looked to be practicing with a type of assault rifle gun, and Sheila was also in the room along with the other students. The students were all focusing on their target practice as they fired off rounds from their assault rifle.
None of the students looks like they be exceptional gunners, and it was clear that Sheila was by far the worst among them. In a glance, her poor skill was really obvious, even the students had probably been told to keep an eye on her just in case she hurt herself.
"Is that Sheila? " Eliza said while pointing at her.
"Yeah, that's got to be Sheila," Seth said when Eliza pointed out the student with the worst marksmanship. He had no idea who else it could be, since she was the one who seemed completely incapable of hitting anything.
"Well it maybe her first time using a gun, she's a little bit clumsy over there." Eliza said while stating the obvious.
After a while, the session for using guns was over and the students were now being told by Lady Killer Teacher to head into the melee combat training room. The teacher's voice was harsh as usual, and she had an intense attitude in general. That was her reputation, the students seemed to be prepared for this session and filed into the room one right after the other including Sheila and her new friends.
"CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON! FIND THE BEST ONE THAT SUIT YOUR TASTE! " The Lady Killer said while picking one of herself.
Sheila, who was still trying to understand what she was good at picked up a spear, one of the longest of the melee weapons available. She could clearly see that her friends had picked up the weapons they usually had, but she didn't really know which ones she was suited for so she just picked the longest one instead.
Sheila turned to Aiko and said "Hey, is this safe?" She was referring to the weapon she had chosen, which was a long spear. She had no idea of knowing whether or not this was the best option for her or the weapons was safe.
"Yes it is.. It just a blunt weapon by the way, as long you don't get hit in the head it just a heavy metal! " Aiko said cheerfully while flashing out her favorite axe.
After everyone had picked their weapons, the teacher started demonstrating each one and explaining what it was used for. The teacher seemed to have a good handle on each type of melee weapon and showed how it was meant to be used in combat. Sheila watched the demonstration with interest, trying to understand where she should go from here with the spear she had chosen. The demonstration seemed very informative and helpful to the students especially for Sheila.
"As a Valkyrie and as a woman, you guys still need to learn melee combat to protect yourself," the teacher said, calling the class's attention back to the purpose of the lesson. She believed that everyone should know how to defend themselves.
"Usually the jobs of fighting without an Einjards would fall into these boys you see right now, to be honest piloting an Einjards wasnt everyday thing you could do."
"There's gonna be a moment where your lives would depends on how well you are at using weapons like this sword, or guns."
"You wouldn't know what enemies you would be fighting out there outside the academy, even humans could be the one your facing one day"
"There's many points before you could be the one who in charge at piloting an Einjards"
"Usually the paladin would be the one piloting the Einjards while the valkryie provided the necessary support for the entire operation "
"But, in some cases the battle IQ and the skill the valkryie had could exceed the paladin, like an Alpha Einjards with code name (F)enrir"
"In this cases, the paladin will provide the support! so don't ever thinks an Einjards was a work of single person. Valkryie, and paladin need to work together as a pilots of Einjards! Do you hear me!?"
"YEESS MAM!!!" Everyone answering in unity.
"Good... Now start training with your partner! "
After hearing that they should start training with their partner, Sheila found herself in a confusing situation. She didn't have a partner before and was unsure of who to train with.
After a while, everyone including the four girls who become Sheila friends recently has found their partner, usually partners were assigned after the synchronization process, but in Sheila's case, because how special she is no one could be her partner.
"SHEILA YOUR TRAINING PARTNER IS ME! " The teacher said while pointing at her.
"E-eh!? "
