CHAPTER 039: The Pain Phase

"To build an empire, we are not sure how to do it," Yanarym paused. "I need to do everything that I think would be necessary. Even if that would be working like almost dying."

She knew Guide-sama could read her thoughts but to what extent it could know, Yanarym was not sure. The rules and such that were related to Guide-sama and this transmigration were still abstract for her. She could understand how it works but the point was most of it was just a mystery and mystical.

Guide-sama's information about the people in the world was confined to a few central characters, namely the female lead, the male lead, the second male lead, and the primary antagonist. However, since the main villain was often not exposed until later in the story, access to that information was not available from the start.

In this world's case, it was only meant for Caius because he had no female lead and his harem was not considered mains.

Yanarym had to stalk and research the other characters. While she could know what Caius was doing right now and what his thoughts were with no effort.

With that said, Guide-sama could access the characters' thoughts, but not their emotions.

It was also important to note that she could know what people's thinking was whenever they were just around her vicinity. Like how she was able to read Princess Jasmine's puzzled opinions through Guide-sama earlier. As soon as the second Princess was out of Yanarym's sight—

She had no idea what was happening in Jasmine's head.

And if they were not that far away, Guide-sama could surveillance what was happening to some people.

She discovered another skill of Guide-sama upon entering this world too, memorizing the books. That only proved her recent theory that Guide-sama was the one who had the super brain making it possible for her to recall even decades-ago memories.

Guide-sama was so helpful to her, but its skills were not perfect.

Like how Guide-sama was able to make her memorize these three hundred twenty-nine books, however, she had to understand the content of the book herself.

This was so similar to how Guide-sama could not comprehend the events that were transpiring. Because Guide-sama was reading her most of the time, the explanation of the situation would often slip into her mind.

"I have to be more than smart this time. I knew I said nothing was that difficult but this time, it certainly is slightly not as easy as anything I had been through. Don't you think so? This difficult world lived up to its level," Yanarym said.

Guide-sama: "Maybe that is one of them. However, you were also not dedicated like this to other worlds."

"That's not true. I was dedicated to my last worlds. You know that."

Guide-sama: "There's something different about this world, Yanarym. I'm not making this up."

"Hmm… maybe, you're right. There's something different…" Yanarym thought of it. Of course, the fact that this was a difficult world made it distinct from the former worlds. However, no two worlds were the same.

What made this world special?

"Is it because my goal has changed?"

Guide-sama: "Your goal?"

"Well… ahm, so, what I'm saying is not—I am not a sex addict, right?"

Guide-sama: "You always say that when I know you are—"

"So! The thing is, I died a virgin in my first life, right? I did not experience love too! So, I was like trying to fulfill my first life…ahm, deprived of experience in my next life… and, so…"

Guide-sama: "Yanarym, I don't know what you feel but I know what you think."

"Okay. What I'm trying to say is that I'm done with the love part. I'm more focused on other things."

Guide-sama: "Other things like?"

"I'm saying, I really won't play that kind of fun anymore. I want to become the King myself," Yanarym said with a smile.

Guide-sama: "King yourself? Isn't that what you are really meant to do?"

"To put it simply, I want to become the king not because the Original wants it. I want it too."

Guide-sama: "You want it too?"

"Yeah," Yanarym put down the book she was holding. "The crown. I want it myself."

Guide-sama: "Is that what will become your fun now?"

"Hmm, maybe. It's exciting, you see. I want an empire. The first King Empress. Hah." Yanarym smiled so widely. "It sounds so good, King Empress Yanarym."

Guide-sama: "It's reassuring that you are having fun and you exactly want something from this difficult world."

"I'm not having fun… yet. As you can see, I'm in the 'pain' process to move on to the 'gain' phase."

Yanarym flipped the page and continued to scan the book with the aid of Guide-sama to memorize the contents of it.

This book was not her kind of book, so to understand them better, she gave some underlying stories to them just to make them a little interesting. That was what they used to do in dramas with the settings about the law and medical stuff. They add spice to the story. It was a lot, she was not gonna lie. It was making her whole existence in this world challenging.

Upon reading so many references related to the world's constitution and legislation, Yanarym concluded that the first King was somehow a genius. The current charters were based on the very first constitution that was published by the first administration of the monarchy.

Every loophole that would surface was covered by the initial constitution. There were minor modifications in the laws because of the flow of time. The new generations had to adjust according to the present time.

The regulations did not fall far from the original rules set by the first King.

Yanarym had a little anticipation to read the first-generation book that was stored in the archives in the kingdom of Vortrion.

"Re-establish the constitution…" Yanarym sighed and paused from reading the book. "The Original got me into a lot of work. I wonder what kind of difficult world I would have next if I failed this one."

Guide-sama: "... don't even think about it."

"Yeah, let's not manifest anything dangerous." Yanarym knocked on the wood and shifted her attention back to the book.
