227 Memories and Travel

Sakura

July 21, 8:34 pm, Washington, DC

"New York City?" the ticket agent asked, frowning. "Ain't no one going there now."

"I have family there I need to help get out," Katsuo lied smoothly. "They can't leave without me."

Sakura watched as Katsuo spoke with the ticket seller, standing beside him. She looked back at the rest of the dirty station, once again surprised by how run down it all seemed.

She had thought London was exotic and foreign. America on the other hand, was on a completely different scale. The metro was...functional, to say the least.

The inter-city trains were also rather...limited. Sure, they existed, and they were around the same price, but...well...

Sakura watched as a solitary Latino man swept the dirty floors with a broom. It didn't seem to be doing much, as he didn't have a pail to collect all the dirt. Never mind the clear puddles he just swept around, not bothering to do anything with those.
