World’s Halo

Qing-er, an ordinary 18 year old girl, unfortunately bit the bucket too early and died young. Waking up, she realized she had a new lease on life and had transmigrated into a fantasy world. Spiritual beasts, cultivation, sacred treasures, fantastical things that made her eyes shine. However, she celebrated too soon. Faced to face with the protagonists, she was in fact a pitiful supporting character to put it nicely and a mob character to put it truthfully.

Qing-er didn't know how she had returned to the room she had woken up in. Her mind looping continuously between the words her new family had said, her small body, and the scales that appeared on it. She had to be dreaming. And it was such an interesting dream too.

Qing-er pulled up her light purple sleeves again. Sure enough, those scales were still there. Her finger tapped on a single scale, it's hard texture like metal. She stopped messing around and pulled her sleeve back down.

There was a reflective mirror on a vanity besides her bed. She didn't know what material it was made out of but it was exceptionally clear. It was as good as a modern day mirror. Through the reflection, she saw a young girl about 10 years old. She still had baby fat on her cheeks and her eyes were a bright piercing blue with slit pupils. Her jet black hair hung down just beneath her shoulder blades and by the sides of her temples just above her pointed ears were two small ebony colored horns.

It was a sight to behold. Qing-er was amazed at how adorable this body was. How did she not know her imagination was so powerful before, being able to dream up such a thing. Qing-er gave a wide smile showing her teeth. Her canine teeth were twice as long as her other teeth. She had cute little fangs to match her look.

In order to give justice to this adorable look, she struck a few poses in the mirror. She posed with a peace sign, a finger gun, a cheeky smile, a twirl here, an air kiss there, all while laughing to herself at how fun this is.

Once that desire was out of her system, she focused on more important matters, plopping down onto the big bed for a seat. No matter how much she deluded herself, this was becoming a bit too realistic to be a dream. Let's face it, besides all the novels she's read, her imagination was sub par at best. There was no way that she could dream up something like this. If this actually is a dream then she wanted to wake up quickly.

There was still the issue of the car accident she had gotten into and it was the last thing she could remember. Her elder sister was driving home while she was in the passenger seat on her phone. The light had turned green and they had barely driven into the middle of the road when a drunk driver had crashed into the passenger side of the car. He was definitely driving over the speed limit too. It was like a shock to her system before the feeling of numbness spread throughout her entire body. The next thing she knew she woke up here.

"Did I die?" Qing-er mumbled her thoughts to know one in particular.

The only things she knew so far were that this body was called Yun-er or YunYun, most likely a nickname, and that she didn't seem to be human. Oh, and that she can now start cultivating. She needed more information on where she was at. Thinking so, she got up and decided to explore.

Qing-er left the room and headed out of the courtyard. She wandered with no goal since she didn't know where anything was. She passed courtyard after courtyard, each one varying in different sizes. Her little feet were already sore when she decided to head back. Turning around, she wandered for 15 minutes until she nodded her head, a serious expression on her face.

Yep, she was lost. This place was seriously too big for her. Next time she'll definitely bring a notepad and pencil to mark her way and make a map. Her poor feet were sore and her legs were tired. She slowly walked around the corner hoping to see a place where she could rest only to be greeted by a forest.

Black lines appeared across her face. Who can tell her why there's a forest in the middle of this overly large house. No, wait, that's wrong. This is obviously the back of the house where the forest begins. She had gone the wrong way this whole time ha ha ha... She wanted to collapse this instant.

Qing-er grumbled as she turned back around to head back inside the house. Her head had just turned, when a shiny object caught the corner of her eye. She stared into the forest. There was something shining intermittently as though the sun's rays were being blocked by something.

Curious, Qing-er headed into the forest. The shiny object was very close to the edge of the forest, only 20 or so feet inside. Qing-er bent down to pick up the object. A bright, translucent, topaz bracelet strung together on a silver metallic wire of some sort appeared before her eyes.

Qing-er's eyes sparkled as she placed the bracelet against the sunlight. It shone a dazzling baby blue underneath the light. There was something about this bracelet that seemed familiar to her. At the same time, she really liked this topaz bracelet. Bringing it with her, she happily headed back towards the house.
