1 CHAPTER 1

All Leanda wanted was to see her sick father well again. His illness was getting worst by the day. And her inability to provide the money was killing her.

She begged from her colleagues and neighbours for the money to take her father to the hospital. But they didn't have a penny to give her. Some gave excuses that was out of this world, and some just said No.

Leanda fell depressed. Wondering what to do to save her father from the sickness that gave him sleepless night.

Where she was at the factory working, her colleagues advised her to go and see Mr Sharma, their boss. To ask him for the money.

From her very first time here till now, Leanda has never gone to see her boss to discuss any thing with him. Except to collect her salary and leave.

They advised her to meet him, since he's the only one who had the money to help her out with her situation.

Having no other choice, Leanda made up her mind to see her boss after work.

Once the clock struck eight in the night, Leanda rushed to see Mr Sharma. She's informed by a coworker that he left for home not quite long.

With the hopes of catching up with him, Leanda went after Mr Sharma. She spotted him heading through a dark alley. It got her scared, but didn't stop her from following him.

Her desperation to save her father, brought her right to her doom.

Here she was, outside an abandoned warehouse. Standing before her boss and a stranger, with a gun pointing at her forehead. Her eyes drooling with tears, as she begged Mr Sharma not to kill her.

"How could you be so careless to have allowed her to follow you?" The stranger questioned Mr Sharma angrily.

"How was I supposed to know that I was being followed? No one follows me after working hours, except today," He glared at a frightened Leanda.

His gun pressing hard against her forehead, as she shivered in fear. "You turned out to be a snubbing bitch. I should have known that you're a spy."

Her face filled with tears, Leanda pleaded, "Don't kill me please. I just wanted to ask for your help in saving my father. He's ill and I need money. Please don't kill me." She joined her hands together, crying.

But her cruel boss took no heed to her cries. Leanda saw his finger aiming for the trigger. In fear, she shut her eyes to await her end.

BANG BANG!

Leanda shivered when she heard the sound of gunshots. But she wasn't hit. She was still alive.

The frightened lady opened her eyes to see Mr Sharma and the stranger dead. Her eyes gazed at them in horror, as their blood flowed out from their head.

Trying to understand what just happened, Leanda hears another gunshot. She screamed and ran away from that desolated area.

Leanda made her way back home to her sick father. Her entire body shivering when she tried to open the door with her key.

Every seconds she spent trying to get the door opened, her eyes would navigate to her surroundings. Hoping she wasn't followed by the person that killed Mr Sharma and the stranger.

The door finally came opened. Leanda rushed inside, locking the door immediately with her key.

She stood back from the door, staring at it. Like she's expecting something terrible to happen, just like in some horror movies.

Getting herself slowly, Leanda went to check up on her father in his room. He was fast asleep. The plates which contained the food she kept for him, was empty.

Leanda took it away to the kitchen. She didn't bother waking her father up from his sleep. She covered him up and went to sleep in the living room. Since it's only one room in the house.

As the night grew darker by the minute, Leanda's fear grew along. She couldn't sleep at all. Her eyes kept going to the door and windows. Praying for the unknown killer not to find her.

As she shivered right on the couch, a knock came on the door. Causing Leanda to sit up in fear.

Her heart pounding. Wondering if she was imagining the sound of a knock on the door or not. She gazed at the door, waiting to hear the knock. But she didn't.

Leanda assumed that she was overthinking it. She decided to lay down back to sleep.

KNOCK! KNOCK!!

There was the knock again. Leanda became afraid. She believed the killer was the one outside her door.

Afraid, she got off the couch and ran to the back of it. She stared at the door, praying that the killer doesn't break the door down to harm her or her father.

Just as she's gazing at the door, Leanda noticed the shadow of a man at her window. She almost screamed out, but covered her mouth quickly.

The shadow became more darker, showing that the person was closer to her window. Fear gripped Leanda. She didn't know what to do.

Thinking of what to do, the sound of the window came breaking. The killer was trying to get the window opened.

Fear gripped Leanda. She immediately ran to the bathroom to hide.

As soon as she got into the bathroom, Leanda heard the sound of the window creaking open. Her heart throbbing, as she hid behind the door.

The next she heard were footsteps. Then she heard the sound of the door opening up. Now she could hear more than one person's footsteps in her home. Her heart beating fast, thinking of what to do.

She could hear the voices of whoever it was in her home, talking. She couldn't tell what they were saying, but it sounded disturbing.

Staying silent behind the door, Leanda heard the sound of the door knob to the bathroom clicking. Her heart skipped when she looked at it. What is she going to do?
