Chapter 013- Rule book

"Are you Ivanna Pierlot?" A lady asked as she sat behind a desk. Her corporate appearance held perfection. "Hundred level, right?"

Ivanna nodded twice.

"Here is the map of the university, I'm sorry it wasn't given to you after the registration."

"No problem, Ma'am."

The lady turned to the person sitting next to Ivanna. "Then this must be Rogue Quinn, same hundred level?" She asked as she glanced at Rogue's huge statue, before glancing back at Ivanna. "Isn't there a mistake?" She asked with confusion.

"No, ma'am," Ivanna replied quickly. Rogue had inhaled with leverage, a sign he was getting angry. Ivanna wondered why people concluded that he had a lot of control when everything seemed to anger him.

"Alright then," The lady passed the map of the university and Dom's to them. "Have you decided to live at the hostel?" She asks.

"I don't think we'll be staying,"

"But I told Mr. Quinn the rules, didn't he give you the rule book?"

The university wasn't owned by the Quinn, Rogue claimed he wouldn't attend if it belonged to their family. And to be honest, she also didn't like the idea of being watched 22/7.

"But he said-"

"The rules stay the same. It won't be fair to other students if we make you two an exception. And besides, it is a strict policy."

Ivanna nodded and peeked at Rogue, the invisible storm breeding inside his brain didn't miss her notice. He wasn't liking the idea. "We'll move in as soon as possible."

"Yeah, possibly tomorrow. The semester has started and it would be better to start with the others." She curtailed as she searched through the book on the table, and finally pulled out two books and handed them to them. "I gave a few to Mr. Quinn, but these are two copies. Go through them in your free time. They are the rule book the university operates on."

Ivanna accepted them. As they left the Mistress's office towards the car, Rogue had an unreadable expression. She walked near the car given to her and slipped into the back seat, the driver didn't waste time and drove off. She glanced from the rear mirror at Rogue and he entered his car.

She took deep breaths to calm her shaking hands, She always felt nervous around him. She couldn't help it. She smelt death around him.

They would move into the dormitory tomorrow, she didn't want to stay near the Mansion. Her wedding with Roman would commerce the minute he is found.

Ivanna gazed at her ceiling as thoughts ran through her mind. Was going back to school a wrong choice? The marriage? The Quinn family was strange, it confused her.

Her open window made the soft glow of the moon touch her face. She had informed Mr. Quinn during dinner and he said he was okay if the both of them were.

She clambered down her bed and walked to the window. She couldn't believe Roman hadn't been found with how much connection the Quinns had. This seemed suspicious. As she glanced out of the window, something caught her eye.

Her brother was outside the gate.

She impatiently walked out of her room and clambered down the stairs before steering out of the door. She slipped out of the gate and ran closer to Nicholas.

"Ivanna," He called out as he stared at her with confusion. "Why aren't you in bed?"

Ivanna didn't reply and ran into his arms. "Why haven't you called since?" Her eyes turned wet. She raised her head and gazed into his sad eyes. "Were you angry at me?"

"Never." Came his quick reply. "You know I can't be mad at you. I was sad, I just got you back and you'll be sent off to marry. That isn't how I planned or told you when we were getting here."

"I know," Ivanna mumbled. "But I'm happy, I'm not sad about the marriage. It's a good family and everyone loves me."

"You can't lie to me, Ivanna." He said with a soft tone, causing her to lean her head. "Just tell father you don't want this."

"I'm fine, Nicholas, I'll let Father know when I feel the marriage is impossible."

Silence crammed the space between them.

"Do you think running back to school would solve the problem?"

"I'm not running-"

"Stop fucking denying it." He was enraged. "Leave the Quinns while you still can, you won't be able to later. It'll be too late then."

Nicholas' words confused her. "What do you mean?"

As he opened his mouth to speak, his eyes roamed to a distance and he halted. "I should get going. Take care of yourself." He didn't wait for a response and slipped into his car before driving off at high speed.

Ivanna glanced around her, it was free of people. Silent. She looked at the place Nicholas looked and saw nothing but darkness. She shrugged and turned towards the gate. As she approached the gate, a low scream from a female reached her ears.

She halted. She looked around her, but no one was near her. As she made another attempt to enter the gate, another cry came. This time slightly louder.

That was when her curious mind took control.

She walked away from the gate and looked around for the person crying, she knew it was a female. As she walked further away from the gate, she noticed a car parked far away as if it was hiding. She quickly tiptoed closer to them realizing it was Rogue and a girl.

"Why are you doing this, Damien, aren't I good enough?" Ivanna watched as the girl cried with her face buried in her palm. "What else do you want before you can consider? My soul?"

Ivanna glanced at Rogue since he had an Indifferent expression with his right hand tucked inside his pocket.

"Enough, Mercy," Rogue mumbled with an indifferent tone.

"You're cruel, Damien!" The girl weeps out loud again.

Ivanna knew what was coming next. She brought out her phone and turned on the video recording, before zooming it for their faces to be clear in the video.

She took a couple of pics and a few video records. And in between those records was a moment the female slapped Rogue harshly. He could have caught her wrist before her palm met his face, but he didn't. It almost made Ivanna believe he actually liked pain.

The female entered another car she didn't know was there, and drove off with a tear-filled face. This was a cue for her to run back to the Mansion.

As she turned around to escape, she heard him speak on his phone to someone on the other side. "You can go ahead now."
