chapter 1: INVASION.

In the village of Dedi, there is a tradition which all women and men participate in, The tradition is called: usuku ukukhonza NKULUNKULU. A day to spend all their time worshiping UNKULUNKULU{ GOD}.

On this faithful day, they all gathered and the women started singing:

 ♬ngakho konke osenzele khona ♬

 ♬siyakukhonza futhi siyokwenza njalo ♬

 ♬umqaphi wethu.♬

 ♬inkosi, uNkulunkulu, umvikeli. ♬

 ♬baba sikhonza wena ♬

 ♬dumisani, ngiyabonga nkosi ♬

 ♬siza ukuzokubonga ♬

 ♬siza ukukudumisa ♬

 ♬ngiyabonga nkosi ♬

 ♬ngiyabonga Nkulunkulu ♬

They sang, danced and prayed. The entire village enjoyed their selves and when they finally finished, they said their goodbyes, and went home. Susi one of the women in the village was at her house cooking for family after the festival, when all of the sudden she started gun shots. Susi ran to go meet her family but instead she met the invaders. {The ababulali bendoda}, they dragged her to their sitting room where her husband and son were, susi started begging that they should spare their life. They looked at her and life and killed her husband and son right there in front of her eyes. susi shouted and cried as they left, but nobody heard her, she cried and cried. For days Susi did not leave the sitting room, just stayed there and continue looking at her dead husband and son as tears rolled down her cheekbones. The women in the village noticed susi absent and some of them decided to check up on her, they knocked on her door, but nobody answer, they were about to leave when they heard susi cry. They ran back and started knocking repeatedly but still no answer. They went and called their husband's to come break down the door. immediately they broke it down, the women ran inside, immediately they saw susi and her dead husband and son, they all looked at each other and walked over to susi. They made her stand up and took her out of the house to one of the women house ukuthula. after they got to her house, they gave susi water but she did not drink, they tried making her talk but she did not utter a single word, just kept on looking at everyone, then one of the villagers uHana remembered that there is one person who can make susi talk. so she told the other villagers so they could help bring her there, the villagers were curious and asked exactly who the person is, uHana told them that, he is susi brother in law uJohane, that he should be able to make susi talk. The villagers upon hearing this said it was a good idea and immediately took susi to her brother in law house. They got to his house and knocked on his door, immediately he opened the door, susi ran to him crying saying 'ujohane your brother is gone, my husband is gone, my price my son is gone, ujohane' as she continue crying. everybody upon hearing this were shocked and ujohane quickly invited everyone in, and sat susi down and gave her water. 

Ujohane waited a little for susi to calm down before asking her what happened exactly. When susi calmed down, ujohane asked her exactly what happened. susi started by saying:

'i was in the kitchen cooking for uMathewu and my son, when all the sudden i heard a gun shot, i ran to go meet them but instead i bumped into someone else. A man, he dragged me to the sitting where uMathewu and my son where with the rest of their gang, They called their selves The ababulali bendoda {MEN KILLERS}. right there in front of me they killed uMathewu and my son inkosana, but they left me with their dead body. '

Immediately susi finished explaining to them what happened, she burst into tears and the whole village ex claimed. ujohane was speechless and didn't know what to say. Minutes later Ujohane stood up and said, 'we need to bury them', susi looked at him, and also stood up, nod her head and walked back to her house.

It was night time, and the villagers went to knock on susi door with ujohane, susi opened the door dressed and ready for the funeral. she came outof the door and the men of the village entered inside to carry their dead bodies. They carried it and started clapping and singing as they walked to the burial ground.

They reached the burial ground and buried both of them. The villagers started leaving one by one till it only remained susi and ujohane. Then after some time they both left and went to ujohane house. immediately they entered into his house, they started hearing gun shots again and immediately susi told ujohane to go someone and hide thinking that they were coming to their house but they acctually went to uHana house, a villager who leaves nearby. immediately the gunshot sound was over and they left, susi came out to comfirm if they had truly gone, and truly they had gone. so she called the remaining villagers to come outside, they came out and as they were about to knock out uHana door they heard her cry out loud:

'ababulali bendoda why.'
