The first werewolf enemy arrived, immediately followed by a multitude and Bloodhood's fighters eyed them to gauge the force they would have to bite their opponent with, to beat them up.
When they ventured into Crescent Moon territory, they knew that dreaded moment was sure to come. They would have to fight against all the werewolves whose aura has been tampered with by Black. The spell used by the dark wizard was cruel because it targeted all the werewolves without any concern for their blood rank, rank, and gender. The spell turned them all into monsters under Black's complete control.
Therefore, the sorcerer had the advantage of numbers since he didn't need to take into account blood rank or strength to choose who would be a part of his army. He had no one to protect or preserve. They were all just pawns that he could send to death at any time just to ensure victory.
