The male omega picked up the pace and activated his Perception to analyze the terrain and find the best path to reach his goal. Further in the distance, between two trees, he saw a dark mass that he couldn't define despite his excellent night vision. He guessed it was Cherry and the lump in his stomach swelled as he realized they might have been too late.
