1 Chapter One

Eric's POV

I sat next to my mother in the courtroom. She was the queen of all werewolves in the whole world. After my father's ( King of werewolves ) death, all of his powers came to me. I took his place. But I still was the prince of the werewolves.

We were united with the vampire kingdom to defeat the demon king who's trying to collect every single soul on the earth to bring back his lost wife. Some vampires, Werewolves, and some of the other supernaturals had joined the demon king.

This morning the vampire king Ace informed us that a vampire and a werewolf in the demon king's army has come to England to spy on us. Which is where our kingdom is present. Our kingdom present in woods in London hidden from human eyes from a magical barrier created by witches.

My mother decided to send me and the general's son Nico to the human society (To London) to hunt down the vampire and the werewolf.

My mother dismissed the court. She looked at me after everyone left the courtroom.

"Eric, would you mind joining me to take a little walk in the royal garden?" She asked

I nodded and followed her to the royal garden. Guards at the palace's giant doors bowed us as we passed them.

"I have a very important thing to tell you, Eric." My mother said while looking at the night sky.

"What is it mother?"

She sighed and looked at her wedding ring.

"We all werewolves are immortal. But still, there are many ways to kill us. Like silver."

"We all know that mother," I said in a lazy tone.

"That's not what I wanted to tell you." She said while rubbing her ring.

"So what is it?"

She stayed silent for few seconds and looked straight into my eyes.

"You know that I and your father were mates.

And we are more than mates because we are royals." I stayed silent as she continued.

" And my lifetime is reducing after his death"

"What?! What do you mean by that your lifetime is reducing?" I asked in shock.

Tears started to fill in her blue eyes.

"Eric I have to follow him to his afterlife. And he's still waiting for me there. I feel it. My lifetime is reducing because of it."

I nervously ran my hand through my black hair.

"You know that I can't do anything without you mother." I said angrily.

"You have to my dear."

I angrily looked at the night sky and stayed silent

"Then Silena has to take your place and your powers right?" I asked after few minutes. Silena is my younger sister. The person I loved in the whole world than anyone.

"Eric you know that she can't take my place and all my powers. If I give her my place and my powers..."

"She'll die," I mumbled and looked back at my mother. She nodded sadly. My sister has a health problem in her heart from her birth. Because of that, she can't hold a power of a werewolf queen.

"Then who will take your place?" I asked

"Your mate Eric." My mother answered

"What?!" I asked furiously.

I knew that my blue eyes have turned into emerald green because of my anger. The word mate Is a painful thing to me.

"Eric you need to find your mate to take my place and my powers. If you like or not." She sounded demanding this time. She sighed and kept staring at me. I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Mother you clearly know that I can't figure out my mate from the first glance because of that curse. And some werewolves tried to get advance of me because of that!" I was cursed by a witch who's in the demon king's army when I was just 5 years old. That curse avoided me from figuring out my real mate from the first glance. Even my mate won't be able to figure me out at the first glance. Because of this many werewolves tried to get in advance of me and tried to fool me. But I avoided every one of them until I met Dove. She succeeded to fool me. She said that she's my mate and told me that she could feel it from deep in her heart. I fell into her without noticing. Her beautiful face fooled me. But one day the royal witch in our palace figured out that she is from the demon king's army that was spying on us and that she is a married mate to another werewolf. That day I felt like that my heart broke into thousand pieces like glass. My father blasted her into little pieces from his power without hesitation. From that day on I build a wall around my heart to avoid the word mate. I only showed love to my family and to my close friends. Thinking about Dove made me think to break a thing.

"Eric..." I cut my mother off.

"I have to make a plan with Nico for the hunting," I said and stormed into the palace in my werewolf speed before my mother says anything.

"Dad..... you promised me to tell a story!" The little 5 years old girl cried while sitting on her father's lap.

"Dad, you promised her to tell a story remember?"

The little girl's 17 years old older sister said to her dad and sat next to her dad on the log. They were sitting in front of a bonfire in the forest.

"Yea yea I remember. Now, where's mother?" Dad asked.

"Coming...." Two girls' mother came out from the hut and sat next to her older daughter.

"Oh..... this place is amazing." She said while looking at the night sky happily.

"That's why I chose this place to camp." Dad said proudly.

" Enough talking. Tell the story..." The little girl said loudly.

Her dad chuckled.

"Ok ok. Once....." He stopped as they heard a growling sound from the forest around them.

" Hold Gwen," Dad said and placed the little girl on her mother's lap and took the gun on the floor next to him. He stood and walked forward slowly while aiming the gun toward where the sound came from.

His older daughter stood and started to follow him slowly.

"Cleo come back!" Her mother warned her. She ignored her and kept following her dad. The growling sound started to increase.

"Daniel...?" Girls' mother spoke to girls' dad in fear. As he turned to face his family something pulled him into the dark forest from his behind. He disappeared into the dark forest with a scream of horror.

"Dad!" His older daughter screamed and ran into the dark forest following his dad's scream.

"Cleo no!" Her mother started to follow her while carrying her little daughter in her arms. She stopped in dead tracks as she heard his husband's and her older daughter's screaming in pain.

"Sofia get out of here! Get Gwen out of here!" She heard her husband's yelling.

"Mom get out of here!" Then she heard her older daughter's yelling.

She stood frozen where she was. Her little daughter in her arms started to cry.

" Sofia! RUN!!!!!!" Her husband yelled again loudly. That yell brought her into the present.

"I'm sorry..." She cried loudly and ran toward their car. She climbed into the car and started it. She still heard her husband's and her older daughter's screams from the forest. Then she looked at her crying little daughter. Tears started to roll down her cheeks. She drew the car out of the forest as fast she can. She heard the howling of wolves. She concentrated her mind on driving. She pulled the car out of the forest to the main road.

Gwen woke up before her nightmare continue. She started to breathe heavily. It's being 12 years after her father's and her big sister's death. But she still had nightmares about the incident.

She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She raised her face and looked forward. The calm forest was facing her. The whole forest was glowing in silver color because of the moonlight. She got a clear view of the clam forest because the wall that her bed facing was made up of glass. Her house situated near the forest. Gwen sat up on her bed and sighed. She took her phone on the nightstand and checked the time. It was 4.33 am.

''Better complete my science assignment before next week.'' She told herself and climbed down from her bed and started to do her science assignment.
