The Bond

Fin and Cerberus stepped through the portal and were greeted by lush greenery and mountains.

"Did he really just send us here..." He asks himself just in time to hear a familiar and thunderous roar. "Damn it Hermes..." He guides Cerberus over to the woods without saying anything, then a thick fog rolls down the mountains. His conversation with the father and son was on its way. "If I can convince myself to work with us, this might be easier than they thought..." But remembering how he was back then.

"We can't face myself like we are now." He looked over at Cerberus, his tail between his legs as he could sense the danger if they went out there now.

"You felt it too..." He looks back at the gathering then punches the tree. "Dammit... Come on big guy. There's a few siblings I need to speak with."

Fin steps away slowly from the tree and the two leave the mountain area. After walking a few miles they find a run down mansion. Half of it looked like it had been worked on then abandoned, the other half was old.

"This definitely looks like somewhere she would stay. Fits my sister half decently." He chuckled to himself then looked at his companion who is looking up at him. "I wish you could speak, makes it look better than being an idiot..."

"Too late child... Talking to a mutt does not help you." A female voice echoes behind Fin as he then looks back and sees his half dead, half alive sister

"Ahhh Hel, nice to see you again. You look... Lovely." Cerberus stood beside Fin with a low growl. Fins hand holding the dog back.

"How do you know my name child?"

"Interesting you should ask. You don't recognize your own brother in?"

She studies him for a moment, looking up and down him trying to discover who this young man is. "I must apologize but you are no brother of mine."

"If only Jormangundr or Sleipnir were here..." He stood there looking at her, his eyes flash red for a split second, causing her to realize who he was.

"How are you a human Fenrir?"

"I can answer that another time. I need your help... And Jormangundr as well."

She steps back, "Not once in our life time have I once heard any of us asking each other for help. Since it is you asking I must assume you are not from this time."

"I.... Wait. How did you assume that so quickly? Never mind. Yes, you are right. I cause Ragnarok in 300 years and I am trying to stop myself from doing it again. I... I don't know if I can take that form again or not so I need your help."

"Shall we go hunting, Brother?" She walks up to him "Assuming you know where to find the other's."

"Sleipnir was very fond of his forest. As for Jormangundr, I have no idea. I always stayed in the mountains keeping layers of fog around me. I found you on accident one night and left you."

She begins to pace, trying to figure out where their brother could have gone. After moments of pacing, she stops and looks at a globe that sits on a table across her room. Walking over to it, she sees a spot that could do.

Fin looks at where she points to "The Bermuda Triangle?" She glances over at him with a puzzled look. "Sorry, the humans call it that in a couple hundred years. It would be perfect and I am kind of getting tired of portals."

"That is a shame. Unless you were you're true form, it would take days to get there.

"Look... I do not want to have to resort to that unless necessary."

She shrugs then walks away. He then sighs and closes his eyes. "Fine. Take us there..."

"We already are here brother." She smiles as they stand on frozen layers of water.

"I seriously hate it when you do that... He's not going to just sit in the middle of the ocean though."

"As you stand there brother, I have been thinking about this situation. Have you ever thought about the bottom of the ocean?"

"Hm.. You're just going to freeze the water and make stairs aren't you..."

"I may look fragile, but I do not go near stairs." She says right as the layer the three are on slowly begins to lower itself. "Shall we go see how our brother has been?"

"I suddenly feel like I am going to regret talking to him. Let alone make it out alive."

She laughs, remembering their last encounter. "Ah right, if I remember correctly you angered the gods because you two split a mountain."

"Why do you have to remind me of that. I thought Odin was going to kill us both." He scratched the back of his head, the two were still young to the world when they fought.

"You two are both my brothers... That is why I asked father to help you two." Her smile slowly faded. "I just wished grandfather didn't banish you both to separate you. You in the mountains, and Jormangundr, here."

Silence fell upon the two while they are being lowered to the depths of the ocean. The deepest of the deep, still undiscovered regions of the ocean. As they get further, the waters get darker and harder to see through the ice barrier.

"We must be getting close by now. Fenrir, wake your dog. Something seems to be off about this area."

Fin kneels down and strokes Cerberus' ear. The hound had fallen asleep at some point while the siblings were talking. Hel's ice platform reaches the ocean floor and dissolves, leaving only the barrier surrounding them.

"I only have two moons before this barrier shatters and dissolves. We must make this quick."

"All right. Let's see what is between us and Jormangundr, shall we?"

She nods and begins to walk forward. Only their sibling bond can lead them to him.
